  2. Broady and Burrage lose first setpublished at 13:15 BST 1 July 2021

    Broady/Burrage 2-6 Kuzmova/Rus

Not a great start for British pair Naomi Broady and Jodie Burrage in the women's doubles on court six.

They've dropped the opening set 6-2 to 15th seeds Viktoria Kuzmova and Arantxa Rus.

  3. Bolt breakspublished at 13:14 BST 1 July 2021

    *Bolt 2-0 Norrie

What a start for the Australian and what a shot to get the early break.

Norrie sends him left and on the stretch Bolt manages to get it back, Norrie doesn't do much wrong, sending a backhand to the other side of the court.

But Bolt, with some pace Usain would be proud of, gets there and produces an incredible cross-court passing winner.

There's a pretty decent prize on offer to the winner of this one - a third-round tie against either Roger Federer or Richard Gasquet, who play later on today on Centre Court.

    Alex Bolt 1-0 Norrie*

This is the first meeting at this level between Alex Bolt and Cameron Norrie, both left-handed.

If this is the sign of things to come, we're going to be treated to something special. It's deuce in the opener, Bolt looking a threat with his forehand, sending it all over of the court.

And the Australian takes it to hold.

So Barbora Krejcikova has adapted to the grass well following her French Open win, but what about two of the opponents she beat to clinch that memorable - and seemingly unlikely - maiden Grand Slam win?

Russia's Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, who Krejcikova beat in the final, eased through to round three in straight sets a short time ago.

The 16th seed won 6-3 6-3 against another Czech, Kristyna Pliskova.

Now it is the turn of Greek 15th seed Maria Sakkari, who you will remember lost a classic Roland Garros semi-final against Krejcikova.

Sakkari eased through round one as she dropped just two games against Dutch opponent Arantxa Rus, but the second round is proving tougher.

American Shelby Rogers won the first set last night before they were forced by the darkness to come back today.

Australian Alex Bolt is in the second round of Wimbledon for the first time after beating world number 44 Filip Krajinovic of Serbia in straight sets.

He's ranked 149th in the world and a win today would equal his best ever performance at a slam after he got to round three of the 2019 Australian Open before he lost to Alexander Zverev.

Bolt, 28, has had a frantic few weeks in England as he battled through qualifying and then won the recent Nottingham Challenger event, gaining seven victories in eight days to do so.

In that competition, his wins included a success over two-time Wimbledon semi-finalist Richard Gasquet.

  14. 'I need to keep applying pressure'published at 12:52 BST 1 July 2021

Alex Bolt v Cameron Norrie (13:00 BST)

It's nearly time for the action to start on Court One, with a Briton first up...

Cameron Norrie, the 29th seed, is seeded at a grand slam for the first time and won in four sets against France's Lucas Pouille in the opening round.

It was the British number two’s 30th win of a year that has seen him reach the third round of both the Australian and French Opens and three ATP Tour finals, including at Queen’s Club.

"With the way I play, I’m not going to go out and hit someone off the court or serve someone off the court," said Norrie. "I need to keep continuously applying pressure, keep putting people in awkward situations.

“When it’s tough, that’s when I feel good and comfortable. That’s why I’m doing a little bit better this year, because I’m executing in those bigger moments.”
