Nine on the bounce... wow.
Norrie has been magnificent, working out his opponent after that slow start and taking control.
Bolt hits the bananas to get some energy for body and mind.
*Bolt 3-6 0-3 Norrie
Bolt goes long a couple of times, then tries to vary it up but can only send a sliced backhand into the net and that's a hold for Norrie to consolidate that break.
It's been a long, long time since Bolt has won a game. More than half an hour.
Bolt 3-6 0-2 Norrie*
Forehand unforced errors show Bolt on 11, that's why he's trailing.

Few guffaws as Norrie seems to say a four-letter expletive when he stretches for a backhand return. Not sure if that is what he did say. Maybe more of 'ssssh' sounding noise as he changed position. He didn't get a warning for bad language...
*Barty 1-2 Blinkova

As you were.
Ashleigh Barty breaks back straight away.
Bolt 3-6 0-2 Norrie*
Bolt won the first three games, but has now lost eight in a row as he falls a set and a break behind.
Cameron Norrie's looking calm but he's going to be loving this current phase of the match.
Break point Norrie.
Bolt took the opening couple of points, but he's in danger of being broken here as it's now 30-30 thanks to a Norrie volley at the net with the court open.
Barty 0-2 Blinkova*

An early shock on Centre Court as world number one Ashleigh Barty goes a break behind.
Her serve isn't there in these early stages, a double fault handing Anna Blinkova break point.
Blinkova couldn't capitalise that time, slamming a forehand into the net, but she does on her second opportunity.
The crowd weren't expecting that, gasps rather than applause.
*Bolt 3-6 0-1 Norrie
Make that seven games in a row. Cameron Norrie's on a hot streak and that's a hold to get us going in the second set. How's Bolt going to respond?

George Lorimer: Are we all agreed that post-Covid players will keep looking after their own towels? Let ballkids be ballkids.
Bolt 3-6 0-0 Norrie*
Another wonderful rally, with great variety shown from both players, before Bolt's forehand has too much juice on it and it's long. Norrie serving, 15-0.

Rapturous round of applause for Norrie after a wonderful fightback to take the first set.
Lots of nervous glances skywards as the players take the seats, becoming a little cloudy and gloomy.

It was a sticky start for Cam Norrie - he lost the first three games but he swept back to win the next six.
He looks like a strategist. Bright, smart brain that is working its way around the court to win the points.
Bolt 3-6 Norrie
It looked like being a very tough afternoon for Cameron Norrie as Alex Bolt raced into a 3-0 lead. But since then, Norrie has played near-flawless tennis with six games in a row and three breaks of serve.
Bolt flashes a forehand long and that's set, Norrie.
Set point Norrie.

There have been very few easy service games for either Norrie or Bolt.
Both have managed one to hold to love each, with every other game going to at least 30.

After such a sweet start, Alex Bolt doesn't seem to know now what to do against Cam Norrie, who's tightened things up nicely
Svitolina 3-6 Linette
Elina Svitolina steadies the ship to hold serve twice but the third seed cannot stop Magda Linette edging to a surprise opening set victory - the world number 44 slaps down an ace, then her big-hitting baseline groundstrokes force the Ukrainian long and the Polish player finishes off with another snappy serve to clinch the opener.
If Svitolina is to progress, she'll have to go the distance... Linette, meanwhile, has her instruction book out between sets to remind herself of those all-important tactical pointers.
