    Gauff challenges, but that just nibbled the baseline chalk! One to go, and this time the American takes it after an enduring exchange with a delightful forehand that only just clears the tape.

    You have to feel it's a long way back for Vesnina now.

    Coco Gauff just needed the one break of serve to take the opening set and confidently backs up her break at the start of the second to hold and maintain her advantage.

    It comes after one of the points of the match so far! Gauff manages to anticipate an Elena Vesnina smash and keeps it in play, before lobbing the Russian at the net, but the American then stands a drop shot up and Vesnina puts it away.

    Carlos Alcaraz is once again unable to consolidate his break, as world number two Daniil Medvedev responds by taking his fourth break point opportunity to lead 3-1.

    Some huge serving by the Russian take him to 40-15, and Alcaraz is able to land a volley before a delightful sliced backhand at the net from Medvedev seals the hold.

    The crowd are on the side of the Spanish teenager, however they can't help but applaud that from Medvedev.

    Lovely width on a looping forehand from Coco Gauff, but the American follows up with a double fault.

    There's some serious zip in the next serve and Elena Vesnina can only prod it long in response. The Russian is all over a slower second serve on the next however, scuttling to the net as Gauff pops a lob long. But then comes a massive first serve once more... set point.
