  1. 'Brave to go against Federer'published at 16:23 BST 4 July 2019

    Federer 6-1 7-6 (7-3) 4-1 Clarke*

    Tim Henman
Former British number one on BBC TV at Wimbledon

On Roger Federer's chances of going all the way...

It's a great platform for Roger Federer to build from that he's arrived fit and healthy. His serve and forehand look in perfect condition.

The challenge will get greater as he gets deeper in to the tournament, but it will all boil down to weather he can produce his best tennis.

On the grass courts, it would take a brave person to bet against him...

    Federer 6-1 7-6 (7-3) 4-1 Clarke*

Roger Federer may be two sets and a break up, but he's being made to work for it - the Swiss even wipes away a bead of sweat after a dashing rally with Jay Clarke. But after all that, he holds to love.

  3. Postpublished at 16:23 BST 4 July 2019

    Siniakova 3-6 4-5 Konta*

A collective groan from the crowd as Konta's backhand goes into the net. One match point lost.

  4. Postpublished at 16:22 BST 4 July 2019

    Siniakova 3-6 4-5 Konta*

Yes, aces are definitely best. Konta goes for one out wide this time and has two match points.

  5. Konta serving for the matchpublished at 16:22 BST 4 July 2019

    Siniakova 3-6 4-5 Konta*

A great start as Konta's serve swings out wide and Siniakova returns into the net. 15-0.

The next rally lasts significantly longer and it is the 23-year-old who comes out on top this time, leaping up at the net to land the ball in the open court. 15-15.

Konta decides aces are a better way to go and slams one down the centre. 30-15.

"I just bumped into Paris St Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, who’s in the Royal Box today. After a quick chat about tennis - he represented Qatar in the Davis Cup and is now president of their Federation - I asked if Neymar would be leaving PSG. Predictably, I was given short shrift: “today I’m only thinking about tennis!”.

  9. Postpublished at 16:20 BST 4 July 2019

    Federer 6-1 7-6 (7-3) 3-0 Clarke*

Good speed and depth from Jay Clarke to force Federer into the net with a forehand. The Swiss then cups another long. 30-0.

  10. Konta serving for the setpublished at 16:19 BST 4 July 2019

    Siniakova 3-6 4-5 Konta*

Solid serving from Siniakova delays Konta's victory. The Czech leaves the door ever so slightly ajar as she hoofs a forehand wide, but she serves another beauty to hold.

Konta will serve for the match next.

  11. Postpublished at 16:18 BST 4 July 2019

    Federer 6-1 7-6 (7-3) 3-0 Clarke*

Ace, skipping off the T. Another big hold for Roger Federer.

  12. Postpublished at 16:17 BST 4 July 2019

    *Federer 6-1 7-6 (7-3) 2-0 Clarke

That's better! A leaping forehand winner from Jay Clarke from behind the baseline. Roger Federer roughs him up on the next point by smashing a volley at the Brit's feet. Dance... 30-15.

  13. Federer breakspublished at 16:17 BST 4 July 2019

    *Federer 6-1 7-6 (7-3) 2-0 Clarke

Jay Clarke throws in a slow ball like a Test bowler, but Roger Federer is not about to give up his wicket and hammers his way to a break.

  14. Konta one game from victorypublished at 16:16 BST 4 July 2019

    *Siniakova 3-6 3-5 Konta

After her run to the Wimbledon semi-finals in 2017, Konta was beaten in the second round last year. But her chances of making it to the third round are looking very good so far.

She races to a 40-0 lead, lapses momentarily as she hooks a backhand wide, then holds when Siniakova's forehand lands long.

  15. Tie-breakpublished at 16:15 BST 4 July 2019

    Bertens 3-6 6-6 Townsend

The match involving fourth seed Kiki Bertens and Taylor Townsend has gone to a tie-break in the second set. Bertens needs to win it or she's out.

    Watch that match over here.

  16. Postpublished at 16:15 BST 4 July 2019

    Federer 6-1 7-6 (7-3) 1-0 Clarke*

Uh oh. This could get away from Jay Clarke if he's not careful, he squats into a backhand and yanks it wide. 0-30.

  17. Postpublished at 16:13 BST 4 July 2019

    Federer 6-1 7-6 (7-3) 1-0 Clarke*

Right, Jay Clarke has a lot of work on if he's to become the first British player since 2001 to beat Roger Federer at Wimbledon. Only Andy Murray has taken a set off the Swiss in that time.

Clarke can only applaud as the second seed flicks a volley beyond him with ruthless precision. A love hold.

  18. 'Clarke didn't do much wrong'published at 16:13 BST 4 July 2019

    *Federer 6-1 7-6 (7-3) 0-0 Clarke

    Tim Henman
Former British number one on BBC TV at Wimbledon

Jay Clarke didn't do a lot wrong in the second set.

He had a small window of opportunity but Federer produced five very quick points to get up 6-2 in the tie-break.

Jay has to just hold his serve and hope he can take an opportunity on the Federer serve.

  19. Konta breakspublished at 16:13 BST 4 July 2019

    Siniakova 3-6 3-4 Konta*

    There it is!

It took a few attempts, but Konta eventually gets the break. One break was enough to win the first set, will it be enough to claim a place in the third round?

  20. Postpublished at 16:12 BST 4 July 2019

    *Siniakova 3-6 3-3 Konta

But all that hard work is immediately undone as Siniakova's forehand lands wide. Another break point.
