    So Woods, Thomas and Morikawa - heavyweights - are about to begin their US Open challenge from the first.

    The hole's real challenge lies in the treacherous green which slopes severely from back to front.

    Most approach shots will be left short of the pin to leave an uphill putt.

    You don't get a US Open in more than a year then two come at once...

    But wait, you won't see any double faults here, only double bogeys - and Winged Foot promises to deliver a few of those.

    Golf's 2020 US Open might have been postponed by three months, but the course is just as challenging and the field just as tantalising.

    The West Course's old-fashioned, elevated and downright dangerous greens should proved a fascinating four-day test for the world's best golfers.
