Man City have been excellent, their overlapping play down both sides. They've been solid defensively.

City keeper Ellie Roebuck has made just two saves.

Man City go in fully deserving their two-goal lead.

  3. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:29 BST 26 March 2023

    Man City 2-0 Chelsea

In the last action of the half, Johanna Rytting Kaneryd is picked out behind the City defence on the left but her hooked cross is booted clear by Steph Houghton.

And that is that for the first half.

Cracking strikes from City pair Filippa Angeldahl and Lauren Hemp look set to add further fuel on this blazing title race.

A third goal for City would virtually seal this match. Khadija Shaw hasn't even scored yet! The City goal-machine causes a nuisance down the left channel but can't trouble Chelsea keeper Ann-Katrin Berger.

Emma Hayes has recognised that Sam Kerr was too isolated up top.

Guro Reiten has gone higher up and is playing in the number 10 role.

Cuthbert is now alongside Leupolz and on Coombs and Angeldahl to try and keep them two quiet.

Chelsea will have a little bit more support when in possession to go forward.

Chelsea keeper Ann-Katrin Berger gathers the corner and gets things moving in the other direction. Sam Kerr sniffs an opportunity but can't fashion a proper chance.

Everton and England midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

Looking at the first five minutes, I thought the Chelsea looked a little bit leggy.

But we want to know as to whether the midweek game at Lyon. The travel and coming back from France and then travelling to Manchester, it does makes a small percentage of difference.

That's where the recovery and nutrition come into play.

    Man City 2-0 Chelsea

Chelsea have been the architects of their own downfall, though, with some slack defending.

More insouciance from Magdelena Eriksson nearly lets City in again and leads to another home corner.

You know Chelsea will always put up a fight - Emma Hayes won't accept any less - and they are scrapping away in the City half as they try to make something happen.

She'll see a need to fix what she has seen so far.

Never a nice feeling to be hooked so early in the game but Sophie Ingle and Lauren James will know it is for the good of the team.

The ball in from Chloe Kelly and was taken down nicely in terms of knowing where the space was.

It left Lauren Hemp to walk on and strike with her left-foot by curling it past Berger.

We just had the perfect view of the goal.

    Rachel Brown-Finnis

The second goal almost comes from a symmetrical position to Angeldahl's strike.

No pressure on the wide player Lauren Hemp, Maren Mjelde not responding quick enough.

It's a sumptuous strike with the top of the boot.

Absolutely no chance for Ann-Katrin Berger.
