Bournemouth will not have looked at this game to pick up points. The difference between what they can put on the pitch and what City can...
We've got to put things in perspective.

Nicely worked by Bournemouth. Philip Billing tees up Jefferson Lerma on the edge of the box but his effort is comfortably over the bar.

Bournemouth haven't actually played that badly, City have just been clinical when they have got in behind.

Fabulous run, great pass.
They get in behind and Haaland's finished it with aplomb.

Hamed Traore slides it down the line for Jordan Zemura. He has so much space to pick out a cross but he sends it straight into Ederson's arms.
That feels like a missed opportunity for Bournemouth and Gary O'Neil is frustrated on the touchline.

Erling Haaland is slipped in by Julian Alvarez. He's pushed wide by Jack Stephens and the defender does well to block the shot, deflecting it behind for a corner.
From the corner, Ruben Dias flicks it inches past the far post.

Bournemouth are still pressing City. They win it back inside the City half but Hamed Traore is forced all the way back to Jack Stephens.
It's back at the feet of Rico Lewis within seconds.

Foden has been finding little pockets. It's a fabulous ball.

I think they're checking VAR... let's see what they say.
Julian Alvarez (15 mins)
It always threatened to be a tough day for Bournemouth and this isn't a good start.
Rico Lewis wins it back for City, it's floated into the box by Ilkay Gundogan but Phil Foden is kept out by the keeper.
It then comes off the post and Julian Alvarez pokes it over the line from a few yards out.

When Pep first took over, there were always players threatening the space in behind.
Now only Haaland does that; everyone else wants to come to the ball. The key pass is in behind.
