Gary O'Neil wants his lads to play from the back. But they're got to be careful because if you give the ball away against this quality, you can get caught out.

  6. 'We had to win in our way'published at 17:33 GMT 25 February 2023

    FT: Everton 0-2 Aston Villa

    Aston Villa

Aston Villa boss Unai Emery to BBC Sport: "We needed to win. We had to win in our way. We reacted very well to some moments we were struggling, trying to break the pressure. We were feeling better on the pitch after the first goal.

"We need the players [in the squad]. Emiliano Buendia, he was involved in the penalty, and every goal we’re scoring we’re happy with Watkins doing it but I want to add more players scoring. We were very competitive.

"We were planning to win with a clean sheet. We were compact defensively.

"We were trying to keep our balance. I think the only real strange, the real bad performance was against Leicester. Manchester City were better than us, Arsenal were good as well. Maybe we could have taken more points against Arsenal but they were better than us.

"Now our challenge is at home, how we can control the game better than we are doing. We have to think about each match how we can face it. Perfect today. It was really good how we reacted after three matches we lost.

"We have to be realistic. We are winning, we are losing. At the beginning it was trying to be top 10. We have to win more matches. [We'll] try to create, to build a team to build a small family between us."

  8. 'First goal so important'published at 17:33 GMT 25 February 2023

FT: West Ham 4-0 Nottingham Forest

    West Ham United

West Ham manager David Moyes to MOTD: "The big thing was the first goal, it was so important. We went about the job well and getting four goals is not something we have done a lot.

"It felt more like our old selves, the goals make a huge difference. Once we got the second goal you could see the players playing well, the whole ground felt much better.

"It's the sort of start you want as a striker and Danny Ings is known for scoring goals, he knows where he should be. He found the way to bundle the ball into the net, there are all kinds of ways to score a goal.

"I want to look at the teams above us. I have been here before but I have not enjoyed the position we have been in. Hopefully we'll end up in a good position.

"It's great to have 250 wins but it would have been better if I'd only had 275 games. 250 good Saturday nights out of a thousand isn't too bad."

  12. 'Not good enough'published at 17:29 GMT 25 February 2023

    FT: Leeds 1-0 Southampton

    Southampton

Southampton manager Ruben Selles to Sky Sports: "We are disappointed because the performance wasn't what we expected. That is my fault because the gameplan wasn't right; the boys tried their best and next time we'll be better.

"We tried to make substitutions and formation chabnges at half time. There were some moments where we came back into it, but it was not good enough."

  13. 'Disappointed not to score more'published at 17:28 GMT 25 February 2023

FT: West Ham 4-0 Nottingham Forest

    West Ham United

West Ham striker Danny Ings to MOTD: "I'll be honest I am disappointed not to get more goals today but that's football.

"I was gambling, it was an instinctive run for my first goal and it's a wonderful feeling. The more I play the more you'll see it hit the back of the net.

"As a striker goals are everything and it gives you a foundation to kick on and get some momentum.

"You know how tough the Premier League is. How better to kick on than win 4-0 at home?"

  14. 'So much unity in squad'published at 17:28 GMT 25 February 2023

    FT: Leicester 0-1 Arsenal

    John Bennett
BBC Final Score at King Power

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal love their trips to Leicester; it’s their third win in a row here. I was impressed by the way they dominated against the Foxes but yet again it’s the team’s personality and character which stands out for me.

They stayed so solid throughout and responded brilliantly to the controversial disallowed goal. Mikel Arteta bringing everyone together for a team-talk just before injury time sums it up.

There is so much unity in the squad. Another test of their title credentials passed with flying colours.

  15. 'I don't score many'published at 17:26 GMT 25 February 2023

FT: West Ham 4-0 Nottingham Forest

    West Ham United

West Ham captain Declan Rice: "We knew the pressure of the game, it was big for us at home. We looked really fluid and deserved our goals. I'm delighted to bend one in the corner, the lads are always on at me to have a shot!

"I'll be going home happy, I don't score many. We showed in the second half what we are capable of, how we can hurt teams. It was thoroughly deserved."

  16. 'We didn't find a killer moment'published at 17:25 GMT 25 February 2023

    FT: Everton 0-2 Villa

    Everton

Everton boss Sean Dyche to BBC Sport: "A lot of the performance was right and correct. We asked many questions and didn’t find a killer moment. It's been missing all season. We’ve got to find that.

"It’s a funny thing. You need the bravery to miss. You have to go in with conviction to score and not worry if you miss. We’re close to that but that comes when you’re scoring and winning games. We have to keep clean sheets. There was not a lot of difference to the Leeds game.

"Two soft goals. I’m not pleased with that."

On how things can change: "Working on the training pitch, trying to instil belief. It’s about finding the clarity, the key moments. That’s a work in progress."

Does the table matter right now? "It doesn’t for me. I know what we have to do. The end of the season is the key table. We know where we’re at. I wasn’t overegging last week when we won.

"Lots of good work. It’s about the key moments and finding the freedom to go and score."

  17. 'The supporters deserve better'published at 17:24 GMT 25 February 2023

    FT: Leeds 1-0 Southampton

    Leeds United

Leeds boss Javi Gracia to BBC Match of the Day: "It feels very good. The club needed it after 10 games without a win. I'm very happy for everyone who works for the club, the fans and especially the players because they were working without rewards.

"We spebt time with the players, but on the pitch just one training session. It was enough because we got the result. I trusted during the game because we were doing things ell; we were solid and compact and we tried to look for chances. We scored one and won the game.

"I hope to listen to that noise more times. The atmosphere is special. I want to live more days like this; the supporters deserve better and we are going to work for it. The table isn't important today; it is a step but an important step."

  19. 'Five at the back gives us best chance'published at 17:21 GMT 25 February 2023

Bournemouth v Man City (17:30 GMT)

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth boss Gary O'Neil to Sky Sports: "Obviously we are undoubtedly the underdogs today. [Manchester City] are the best team in the country.

"City are very extreme in what they do and I just feel the team selection today [five at the back] is what gives us the best chance to get a result."

  20. 'The game was there for us'published at 17:19 GMT 25 February 2023

FT: West Ham 4-0 Nottingham Forest

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper: "We managed the situation well away from home as they hadn't caused us too many problems, that was the plan. If anything the game was there for us.

"We conceded a goal but then what happened is not acceptable. The game was taken away from us, it's our own fault and we have to face it.

"Conceding goals quickly was happening to us at the start of the season and we made poor decisions again. It was a mentality thing and we were punished. There are no excuses.

"We'll review this one, there is lots that needs to be spoken about and looked at. The playesr need to know what we think. We will move on - we have to face up to it and accept it."
