Manchester United's next match here is against Wolves on Monday.

That will see the return of standing to Old Trafford as part of a pilot that begins with Chelsea's home game against Liverpool on Sunday.

Home and away fans will get the chance to trial the barrier seating.

Many will welcome the move - although it will be nothing like the massive terraced areas of yesteryear.

Amrul Choudhury: It's ONLY Burnley... The fact we have given them numerous attacking opportunities is what is more concerning!

Peter Hutton: Scott Mctominay is the most solid player for Man United this season, with the exception of De Gea. Rarely has a bad game and haven't seen such passion in a MUFC shirt since Herrera. An example to the rest of the squad.

Oh, that nearly caused problems. Ashley Westwood's corner is allowed to bounce through a crowd in the box without a touch.

Manchester United break and Scott McTominay's shot is tipped over.

    Finally, a bit of excitement.

Aaron Lennon looks to replicate his first-half goal with a driving run, but Eric Bailly is there to keep him out but concede a corner.

Luke Shaw crosses in the direction of Edinson Cavani, who for a second looks like he might be about to do something acrobatic. But a Burnley head stops any of that.

It could do with something spectacular to light a fire under this again.

He may have been sacked as manager last month but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer remains a crowd favourite at Manchester United.

The 'singing section' around the tunnel area just sang three songs in the Norwegian's honour.

I am sure he will be back when the scars have healed. And he will get a standing ovation from those who will never forget what he did for the club as a player.

This is definitely not as fun as the first half. David de Gea sums it up by booting a long ball straight out of play.

Off goes Jack Cork as Dale Stephens enters the action. Like for like in the middle of midfield.

For a second, it looks like Chris Wood may have muscled a chance for his side as the ball drops to be hit in the box. The striker is flagged offside, though.

This half hasn't quite caught fire like the first yet. Man Utd managing the game a bit at times.

Burnley don't have much on their bench to change this. Matej Vydra is the obvious attacking change, but beyond that it's pretty thin.

    So close to 4-1!

Manchester United sweep forward initially down the left before Edinson Cavani pokes a pass to the right for Mason Greenwood to hit and Wayne Hennessey to save.

He's had a good game, the Clarets keeper, despite conceding three times.

Cristiano Ronaldo gets his angles wrong.

He's well-placed to meet Mason Greenwood's cross, but in trying to steer the header goalwards, Ronaldo slams it wide.

Iain Moss: That was much more like it; hunger, fight and teamwork. More of the same please! McTominay has been magnificent.

PJ: Good first half performance by the lads. Scot McTominay has been our best player...displaying good energy n popping up in dangerous positions to finish.

Spudlud: I’d say this is the end of Burnley’s stay in the Prem. Bottom 3 now is bottom 3 in May………or June……or even July the way things are going with covid !!

  19. EFL removes matchday testingpublished at 21:11 GMT 30 December 2021

Here's one to try and get your head around...

The English Football League has removed the need for clubs to test players for Covid-19 on matchdays in an effort to prevent late postponements.

Hull City's Championship game with Blackburn on Boxing Day was called off around two hours before kick-off when away fans were already travelling.

The EFL accept the situation was not ideal and believe that testing every day, apart from matchday, is enough.

The decision comes as eight EFL games over new year have been postponed.

I mean, it will have the desired effect. Not sure it solves the bigger problem, though.

You can read more about it here.

The way Manchester United are setting up, I have been hugely impressed with Scott McTominay - breaking things up and driving forward - Mason Greenwood and Jadon Sancho are causing problems. Every time it lands for Greenwood I think he is going to create something.
