  4. 'Chelsea look solid'published at 19:56 GMT 8 March 2021

    Chelsea 2-0 Everton

    Lee Dixon
Former Arsenal and England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

I think Thomas Tuchel has a team playing in a way they enjoy - there's an enthusiasm and competition for places.

He is demanding performances that are sneaking out results. He hasn't had a multitude of goals and that might be something that holds them back in the Champions League, but they have a solid look about them. The pattern of play suits them.

    Thanks Phil.

Can West Ham take advantage of Everton's defeat to overtake them into fifth place?

    Can Leeds stay 11th? (Yes)

As comfortable a 2-0 win as you will see.

Chelsea dominated from start to finish and strengthen their top-four bid at the expense of Everton's own efforts.

Pickford called into action again, this time to dive and push away a Mason Mount shot from outside the box.

N'Golo Kante is now getting headers in the box?! Everton allow the ball to come in from the right and for the little midfielder to meet it but nod his effort wide.

  10. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 19:49 GMT 8 March 2021

    Chelsea 2-0 Everton

Christian Pulisic is given a brief run out as he replaces Timo Werner.

There will be four added minutes.

  11. YELLOW CARDpublished at 19:48 GMT 8 March 2021

Bit if frustration coming out now. Tom Davies flies through the back of Alonso and gets the clearest booking of the night.

People often talk about how good a player Mason Mount is - and rightly so but I don't think Reece James gets enough of a mention. What a player he is.

That sums it up for Everton. Bernard is set up on the edge of the box by a flick from Tom Davies but nobody near him he gets right under his shot. Great is your aiming to convert a try, not so if you're looking to score a goal.

  14. 'Everton's lack of threat'published at 19:44 GMT 8 March 2021

    Chelsea 2-0 Everton

    Lee Dixon
Former Arsenal and England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

There's just been no threat from Everton tonight.

It's not from a lack of runs - Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin have been making runs -there's just been no service whatsoever and that's because the midfield has been under so much pressure.

They've not had enough time on the ball to hit that killer pass. Calvert-Lewin will just be thinking give me one chance, just one chance.

Jordan Pickford hasn't had the best of games but he is keeping this respectable now. He saves firstly from Timo Werner, who had got in behind the Everton defence, and then is up quickly to also save N'Golo Kante's follow-up effort.

Marcos Alonso goes down holding his chin after minimal contact from a flailing arm from Mason Holgate, who had his back to the Chelsea man.

Sean Dyche would not approve of the yelping.

It's just not happened for Everton tonight. Richarlison spreads the ball wide right for Mason Holgate, but he over-hits his cross straight out of play.

    Chelsea 2-0 Everton

They're 2-0 up, have brought on Mason Mount and now bring on N'Golo Kante for Mateo Kovacic. Power move.

Timo Werner should make it 3-0 just after the change but after getting goal side of his marker his low shot is saved by Pickford.

From the resulting corner, Zouma heads straight into the Everton keeper's hands.
