    Arsenal 0-0 Crystal Palace

It's been much better from Arsenal since the resumption as Palace have been forced back, although Wilf Zaha then skins his man and runs toward the area. It breaks down before he can get a shot off.

    Arsenal 0-0 Crystal Palace

David Luiz, of all people, pops up on the left wing and swings over a fine ball - Cheikhou Kouyate misses it the first time but just about whallops it away.

Palace on the rocks a touch now.

And then Arsenal get Bukayo Saka into the area, Palace's backline was ragged there, and the winger wins a corner.

Fast start to the second half from the hosts.

  5. CLOSE!published at 46 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Crystal Palace

Better from the Gunners straight away! A good cross from the left sees Vicente Guaiata out of his goal to punch it clear, but it's only as far as Hector Bellerin.

He takes a touch and fires in a shot from the edge of the area, and it's into the side-netting.

No changes for either side - and we play on!

Will Arteta make any changes? Roy Hodgson must be very pleased with that showing. Here they come...

Tej Narula: Maitland Niles far off the pace.

Chris Wood: Bellerin needs to be more productive, he’s been getting into good areas.

Ryan: Pretty boring first half. Positives to take from Ceballos, Xhaka, Saka & Leno. Don't like Holding & Luiz as a CB pairing, need to get Aubameyang & Lacazette involved more and Ainsley Maitland-Niles needs some help. Take him off and put Saka at LB as an option.

  9. How did the half go?published at 20:52 GMT 14 January 2021

    Arsenal 0-0 Crystal Palace

    Just checking in?

This is the most shots Arsenal have faced in the first half of a home PL game this season (9).

This is only the second time in Arsenal's last 96 home Premier League games they have managed just two shots or fewer in the first half, with the other against Liverpool in July 2020.

  10. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:46 GMT 14 January 2021

    Arsenal 0-0 Crystal Palace

Palace may well feel they should be ahead. Arsenal with work to do.

  11. Postpublished at 45 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Crystal Palace

Arsenal now win a corner as we enter added time. Pretty open stuff.

  12. GREAT SAVE!published at 43 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Crystal Palace

Palace have had the best of this half and they are very close to opening the scoring - again!

Tyrick Mitchell hits the cross in on the run from left back and Christian Benteke meets it brilliantly. It's a classic centre-forward's header across goal and heading into the corner, but Bernd Leno makes a flying save to tip it away.

Noel Fitzpatrick: This "it was on his weaker foot" drives me crazy! These guys are professional footballers! They spend all week kicking a ball. They should be just as good on either foot, they're not centipedes!!

Camatriix: Tierney is such a big miss. Arsenal play at such a faster tempo when he’s playing.

  14. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 38 mins

And the free-kick very nearly gives us the first goal! Eberechi Eze clips in a lovely ball right into the goalmouth, James Tomkins gets up above Rob Holding to meet it but can only loft his header onto the crossbar and away.

Granit Xhaka can't believe it as he's penalised for a foul on Wilfried Zaha. Zaha gets a bad press at times but that was a foul, clear as day. The Swiss trod on his foot.

    Free-kick wide left. Good spot.

    Arsenal 0-0 Crystal Palace

Plenty of Arsenal possession but can they unlock the Eagles? It's all in front of the visitors until Emile Smith-Rowe peels out to the right wing and does find space.

He looks up, picks out a great ball into the middle but Hector Bellerin can't control it on the stretch and in hindsight should have left it. Alexandre Lacazette was arriving behind him.

    Arsenal 0-0 Crystal Palace

Arsenal win a corner after more good work down the left from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and David Luiz is picked out, spinning round the back Tony Adams style.

He's almost on the deadball line when he meets it though and can only head straight at the Palace keeper.

Christian Benteke should hit the target from there.

    Arsenal 0-0 Crystal Palace

Palace looking a real threat now! Wilfried Zaha is again involved before Tyrick Mitchell crosses in and Christian Benteke is there ahead of his man again. Once more his finish is errant though, looped over from about 10 yards this time.

  20. Postpublished at 27 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Crystal Palace

Steady! Hector Bellerin's cross is headed back across by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. It's headed out and Joel Ward tangles with Auba inside the area.

A dangerous game - but there are no real appeals for a penalty and nobody takes a look.
