Aston Villa are bursting into a bit of life here. They always seem better when Jack Grealish is on the ball but they haven't got him involved in midfield enough with possession, which is something I'm sure Dean Smith will be saying to his players now he's got them together for this tactical break, not water break!

    Leicester 0-0 Sheffield United

Great pressure from the hosts, again Luke Thomas puts in a good cross and Dean Henderson has to be alert to push out an Ayoze Perez volley. Jamie Vardy and Youri Tielemans are both close to turning the loose ball goalwards but the Blades just about scramble it away.

Really good from Douglas Luiz, to break up a dangerous looking Everton attack. Again the hosts went long from near their own area, pinging one over the top to set Bernard free.

    Leicester 0-0 Sheff Utd

Leicester don't look like a team struggling for form. Harvey Barnes and debutant Luke Thomas have impressed and they have carved out the better chances so far.

The hosts are giving Chris Wilder plenty to shout about from the touchline.

Henderson has been so good this season. Ole will have a big decision to make next season on who starts in goal for Man Utd.

Carlo Ancelotti is furious with the poor touch from Bernard. That's three or four within the game so far. He had both arms waving out loud and then turned around in disgust.

And now Jarrad Branthwaite is hurt! His first touch is to head out a cross and he gets a big shove from Tyrone Mings which leads to him landing on his face. He's alright though.

The game plan for Villa seems to be to deliver crosses early into the penalty area and that's exactly what El Mohamady did. He's got such quality with that right foot.

And that's game over for Mason Holgate. I think it was as he landed but not too sure.

    On comes Jarrad Branthwaite.

  10. CLOSE!published at 18:15 BST 16 July 2020

    Everton 0-0 Aston Villa

Good chance for Villa this time! And he should do better. A good ball from the right finds Mbwana Samatta in the penalty area, he wins the header but blasts it into the crowd.

Samatta and Mason Holgate are both in a bit of pain after that.

    Everton 0-0 Aston Villa

    Leon Osman
Former Everton midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

Aston Villa know they don't need to win this game in the first 20 minutes. They know Everton, after a poor performance, will probably try and come out the traps, so Dean Smith's plan will be to just keep things tight and not do anything silly in the opening half.

  12. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 18:14 BST 16 July 2020

    Everton 0-0 Aston Villa

We'll surely get a goal in a minute, both games are end-to-end! Bernard is well placed on the Everton left, he miscues his cross a bit and it nearly ends up as a fluke, hitting the top of the bar.

  13. GREAT SAVE!published at 18:13 BST 16 July 2020

    Leicester 0-0 Sheffield United

And that's a fine stop! Jamie Vardy so sharp inside the area, a right-wing cross finds him and while his first effort is blocked he's alive to win it back and shoot low and hard. Dean Henderson saves with his foot.

  14. Postpublished at 18:12 BST 16 July 2020

Open game at Goodison. Villa's first attack is promising but the final pass lets them down.

  15. CLOSE!published at 18:10 BST 16 July 2020

    Leicester 0-0 Sheffield United

And another headed chance! Debutant Luke Thomas on the money from the left for Leicester, good ball in and Ayoze Perez heads over. Should have done better for sure.

  16. CLOSE!published at 18:10 BST 16 July 2020

    Everton 0-0 Aston Villa

Oh brilliant ball! Richarlison peels out to the left and whips in a dream of a cross looking for his strike partner. Dominic Calvert-Lewin would surely have scored but Tyrone Mings just gets a little header on to it in front of him and it rather hits DCL in the chest instead of his forehead.

Jordan Pickford has looked a little shaky since the resumption after the lockdown. He's been criticised quietly for some of his performances, being England's number one, you're always going to come under scrutiny

  18. Postpublished at 18:08 BST 16 July 2020

Everton have a corner but they play it short and lose the ball. If I could boo for you, Everton fans, I would.

    Rubbish.

Oli McBurnie's shoulder charge on Jonny Evans inside 10 seconds was met with a "like that, is it?" from behind me.

Good open start to this one, with Chris Basham's trademark overlapping centre-back runs already carving a good chance for David McGoldrick.
