Everton have scored just 15 second-half goals in the PL this season - only Norwich have scored fewer (12).

I think Dean Smith will be happy with Villa's performance in the first half. They've stuck around, they've started to show they can created opportunities. I don't think either side has made the goalkeeper work as yet, so that'll be the main concern for both managers. It's finely poised at the moment.

Ahhhh that smarts. Mbwana Samatta wins a header and then, whilst looking downfield in the direction of play he slips off the side of the pitch, down a slops and clatters into the advertising screens. A dead leg at best.

Regular John: If Dean Henderson wants a chance at the United GK spot next year he needs to come up with an equaliser or winner for Sheffield Utd tonight...

Sheffield United playing straight into Leicester's hands going forward. Should be running at Evans and Morgan or playing balls in behind. Long balls are too easy for them to defend.

It's just too narrow for Aston Villa. They had four or five players in great positions in their last attack but they just can't get any width.

Leicester's formation means that they have an extra man up front but are one short in midfield compared to their opponents.

But Youri Tielemans is such an accomplished player, that the Sheffield United midfield cannot get near him. His range of passing and touch are superb.

He's giving Chris Wilder plenty to think about on the sidelines. The Blades are second best here.

Andre Gomes tries to unpick the Villa lock with a fine pass but Lucas Digne is crowded out before Douglas Luiz bombs a shot over at the other end. I fear we may have to play on for quite a while if we adopted 'next goal wins' rules at Goodison.

Leicester break in numbers and at pace - Harvey Barnes is the free man down the left and he should do more than win a corner to be honest. The Foxes are having joy down that left wing and it leads to Alan Knill getting the draughts set out. Moving some players around under the eye of Chris Wilder.

Closer, closer...Villa come forwards in numbers, Jack Grealish is in an island of space between the lines and shoots but it deflects over the top.

Grealish is picking up good positions, showing up a flaw in Everton's flat 4-4-2.

Bit more positive from Everton after Aston Villa probably having the better of the last five or 10 minutes.

We are still yet to have a shot on target at Goodison, where Alex Iwobi is the latest to have a dig but he can't keep his shot down.

Harvey Barnes and Luke Thomas have been superb down Leicester's left and they combine again before the youngster Thomas fires a low cross to Perez. This is turning into some debut for the 19-year-old.

Ben Chilwell has not been missed tonight.

    Ayoze Perez (29 mins)

What a good goal! Leicester have been on top and they have a deserved lead. That man Luke Thomas has an assist on his debut, picking out Ayoze Perez with a beauty of a driven pass from out wide.

Perez takes a touch and then slams a shot through the legs of John Egan and into the bottom corner.

Aston Villa are certainly getting enough players into the penalty area, which is clearly something they have spoken about. As soon as there's an opportunity to get a cross into the box, they don't turn it down.

There is Jack Grealish now, right through the middle. He plays a one-two, gets into the area and then as Tom Davies comes in for the challenge he...

stays on his feet actually and loses the ball.
