Here's what Derby boss Phillip Cocu had to say on making Wayne Rooney skipper...

"Everybody knows his quality as a player, but we also have to give him time to find his way in this team and league."

As well as being Manchester United and England's all-time record scorer, Rooney also has the most senior internationals caps for England of any male outfield player, with 120.

He made his debut for the Three Lions against Australia at Upton Park, aged 17, before starring as an 18-year-old at Euro 2004.

He surpassed Sir Bobby Charlton's long-standing goal record by netting for the 50th time for England against Switzerland in 2015 and moved on to 53 goals before his international retirement in 2017.

Rooney signed an 18-month player-coach deal with Derby way back in August, but has been ineligible to play until the turn of the year.

He agreed to join the Rams despite having more than two seasons left on his deal with DC United at the time.

"To have a player with his leadership, skill, experience, character and work ethic will be huge for us," Derby boss Phillip Cocu said.

Swansea make six changes to the side which started against Barnsley last time out, with Connor Roberts, George Byers, Yan Dhanda, Wayne Routledge, Borja and fit-again Mike van der Hoorn coming in.

Borja gets the nod up front after Sam Surridge was recalled from his loan spell at the Liberty Stadium by Bournemouth.

Swansea: Woodman, Roberts, Van der Hoorn, Cabango, Naughton, Byers, Grimes, Ayew, Dhanda, Routledge, Borja.

Subs: Nordfeldt, Wilmot, John, Fulton, Celina, McKay, Kalulu.

Good evening and a belated happy New Year to you.

Here's a quiz question, to start the evening off:

Can anyone remember the name of that 16-year-old who scored a brilliant last-minute winner for Everton against Arsenal, back in 2002?

No, nor me... It's on the tip of my tongue...
