    Derby 0-0 Barnsley

Now Barnsley get a scrappy chance at the other end but, after the ball ricochets around the area, Mads Andersen's far-post strike is blocked by Max Lowe.

  2. WHAT A MISS!published at 20:27 GMT 2 January 2020

    Derby 0-0 Barnsley

Oh, no, no, no... Jack Marriott! It's his third missed chance of the night but the worst by far. Duane Holmes picks him out by threading through a cracking through ball and Marriott tries to dink the ball over the keeper but gets it all wrong.

He scuffs his effort well wide. The home fans groan. That's a huge missed opportunity.

    Swansea 1-0 Charlton

Charlton may have new owners, but perhaps some new ideas would help their cause tonight, even if they trail by only one goal. They've not seriously threatened the hosts' net while the Swans could be 5-0 up.

    Derby 0-0 Barnsley

The ball drops invitingly for Barnsley's Elliot Simoes on the edge of the area after a set-piece, but he scoops his strike high, high over the bar.

    Derby 0-0 Barnsley

Wayne Rooney curls in a deep free-kick from the left for the hosts and picks out the leap of Curtis Davies way beyond the far post, but Davies' header drops harmlessly wide.

  6. OFF THE POST!published at 20:20 GMT 2 January 2020

    Swansea 1-0 Charlton

Swansea are so close to doubling their lead! First Andre Ayew's shot is blocked, then George Byers' shot rebounds off the foot of the upright. Steve Cooper's side are piling on the pressure.

  7. Postpublished at 20:16 GMT 2 January 2020

    Derby 0-0 Barnsley

Barnsley cause some nervousness at the back for the hosts as Conor Chaplin's strike is deflected and almost falls in to the path of Alex Mowatt, but Ben Hamer makes an important intervention.

    Swansea 1-0 Charlton

The Swans have had 60% of the possession up to this point - can Charlton find a response?

  9. SUBSTITUTION (Barnsley)published at 20:14 GMT 2 January 2020

    Derby 0-0 Barnsley

Wow. Barnsley boss Gerhard Struber makes an unforced change after just 26 minutes and Mike-Steven Bahre doesn't look happy about being pulled off. He raises his arms in frustration as he is replaced by 20-year-old Elliot Simoes.

It seems like a relatively like-for-like swap... The formation hasn't changed noticeably as Simoes runs on. Ouch.

Yan Dhanda might wish he could play Charlton Athletic a bit more often.

The 21-year-old has scored only his second goal of the season tonight - and both of them have come against Charlton.

He was on target in Swansea's 2-1 win at the Valley back in October, and he has given Steve Cooper's team the lead this evening.

In truth, Swansea could be further ahead, with Charlton looking vulnerable at the moment.

  11. Postpublished at 20:10 GMT 2 January 2020

    Swansea 1-0 Charlton

Goalscorer Yan Dhanda now goes close to doubling Swansea's lead but his shot goes over the bar from a tight angle.

  12. CLOSE!published at 20:09 GMT 2 January 2020

    Derby 0-0 Barnsley

A second good chance for Derby and Jack Marriott goes begging. This time he pokes wide when through one-on-one. Tykes keeper Samuel Sahin-Radlinger gets a slight touch to it.

    Swansea 1-0 Charlton

That was Yan Dhanda's second goal of the season for Swansea - he scored in the reverse fixture at The Valley in October. And it's certainly put a spring in the hosts' step.

Borja Baston almost grabs a second soon after the opener but balloons a great chance over the bar. Matt Grimes had stolen possession before setting the striker up.

  14. Postpublished at 20:06 GMT 2 January 2020

    Derby 0-0 Barnsley

Derby's 18-year-old midfielder Jason Knight - who scored his first two senior goals in Monday's 2-1 win over Charlton - looks sharp again tonight, showing quick feet out on the left.

Neither keeper has been tested yet though, at Pride Park.

GOAL: Swansea 1-0 Charltonpublished at 20:02 GMT 2 January 2020

    Yan Dhanda (14 mins)

Yan Dhanda fires in the opener for Swansea - a fantastic strike that took at least one deflection.

It rifles into the bottom corner from just outside the box.

  16. Postpublished at 19:59 GMT 2 January 2020

    Derby 0-0 Barnsley

A slick and dangerous-looking Barnsley break is expertly broken down by a vital interception from the hosts' Max Lowe.

  17. Postpublished at 19:58 GMT 2 January 2020

    Swansea 0-0 Charlton

There's not been much to shout about in the opening stages, so the fans have to be content with making their own entertainment. And they're in full voice.

Can it inspire some on-field harmony for either side?

  18. CLOSE!published at 19:56 GMT 2 January 2020

    Derby 0-0 Barnsley

Derby are inches from the opening goal, but Jack Marriott places just wide with a first-time shot from Martyn Waghorn's excellent square ball.

  19. Soggy in Swanseapublished at 19:56 GMT 2 January 2020

    Swansea 0-0 Charlton

    Gareth Vincent
BBC Sport Wales at the Liberty Stadium

The rain is streaming down in south Wales, and already it is having an impact on the game.

First Charlton left-back Ben Purrington lost his footing on halfway and then, more significantly, Conor Gallagher slipped in the Swansea box after being found in space by Lyle Taylor.

The latter incident was a let-off for the home side.

They could do with some umbrellas in the dugout, meantime, but then they went out of fashion when Steve McClaren was England manager.

    Derby 0-0 Barnsley

Barnsley are unbeaten in their past five games and look confident on the ball and happy to take risks in the early stages.
