  1. Postpublished at 21:09 BST 9 April 2019

    Preston 0-0 Leeds

Preston, down to 10 men, have sent on Louis Moult for Callum Robinson, so no attempt to take a more defensive approach here against a Leeds side going for the win.

If they avoid defeat, Leeds go into the top two, but they'll want to do it in style. They look sharp on the break, and Patrick Bamford forces a save from Declan Rudd, banging the ball in from the edge of the box but it's beaten away.

  2. Postpublished at 21:07 BST 9 April 2019

    Sunderland 1-1 Burton

Burton Albion come close to a goal at Sunderland, but goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin was in good form to deny Liam Boyce.

    Still all-square.

  3. Postpublished at 21:06 BST 9 April 2019

    Blackburn 0-0 Derby

Just as Derby were starting to get up a head of steam for the first time tonight, Blackburn come back at them and almost take the lead.

Danny Graham gets his head to Craig Conway's corner and it beats everyone other than the man on the line, who hacks it clear!

A succession of attacks follow but Derby stand firm.

  4. RED CARD: Tom Edwardspublished at 21:05 BST 9 April 2019

    Swansea 2-1 Stoke

Stoke won't see this game out with 10 men - because they're down to nine!

Tom Edwards has had a tough time against Daniel James this evening and crudely brings the Swansea winger down to collect a second yellow card.

  5. Postpublished at 21:04 BST 9 April 2019

    Bristol City 3-1 West Brom

Two decent chances for Bristol City in the second half since conceding.

First Famara Diedhiou goes close, with Niclas Eliasson the architect, sending in a lovely cross.

Then a super solo run by Jay Dasilva sees him scorch into the box, thudding his shot against the post with Sam Johnstone well-beaten.

  6. Postpublished at 21:02 BST 9 April 2019

    Preston 0-0 Leeds

The resulting free-kick from Leeds was sent wickedly towards goal but Kalvin Phillips' shot rattled the stanchion behind the goal rather than the post. Close.

    George Boyd (56 mins)

Wednesday had a few chances in the first half, but George Boyd and Marco Matias have taken matters into their own hands since the break.

Boyd slams the ball into the corner from about 20 yards out, following up Matias' long-distance strike 10 minutes ago.

  8. Postpublished at 20:59 BST 9 April 2019

    Blackburn 0-0 Derby

I just thought this sub was worth mentioning as Derby forward Martyn Waghorn has been replaced by Mason Bennett.

Jack Marriott isn't even on the bench for the Rams tonight, and manager Frank Lampard says it has nothing to do with fitness.

Marriott was Derby's main man earlier this season and has 10 goals in all competitions.

  9. RED CARD: Ben Pearsonpublished at 20:59 BST 9 April 2019

    Preston 0-0 Leeds

Preston down to 10 men after Ben Pearson, who was already on a yellow card, came together with Pablo Hernandez as he bore down on goal and referee Robert Jones wielded the card.

It all boils down to a daft challenge on Jack Harrison in the first-half. Mind you, that was actually a straight red. Hernandez was away and he had to bring him down. Leeds have the advantage.

  10. RED CARD: Bruno Martins Indipublished at 20:58 BST 9 April 2019

    Swansea 2-1 Stoke

Uphill battle for Stoke now as they must play the rest of the game with 10 men.

Daniel James dances away from the Stoke defence and tries to cut inside Bruno Martins Indi, who chops him down.

James would have been in on goal although he was still quite a long way out - but the referee has no hesitation in pulling out the red card. And Martins Indi must walk.

  11. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:56 BST 9 April 2019

    Blackburn 0-0 Derby

The first booking of the night at Ewood Park and hopefully it warms up what's been a tepid affair to say the least.

Rovers winger Elliott Bennett crunches into Derby midfielder Mason Mount and rightly gets shown a yellow. Mount is now getting some treatment after being given the treatment.

    Dwight Gayle (47 mins)

James Shan was pretty calm when previewing this game on the back of last weekend's defeat by Millwall, but I wonder whether he was equally calm at the break here...

Whatever the Baggies interim boss said, it's yielded results as Dwight Gayle nodded in a Stefan Johansen free-kick to put the visitors on the board.

Interestingly, City scored their opener two minutes into the first-half... will we see a mirror image in this second period?

Dan James is one of the most talked-about players in the Championship right now, and he has delivered another very impressive display so far tonight.

James was the star of a fine performance from Swansea before the break - yet Stoke are right back in this game thanks to that late James McClean goal in stoppage time.

Can the Potters capitalise, or will Graham Potter's Swans regain the initiative?

    We're back under way.

  14. goal

GOAL: Sheff Wed 1-0 Nottm Forestpublished at 20:51 BST 9 April 2019

    Marco Matias (46 mins)

Marco Matias wastes no time at the start of the second half. Picks the ball up for Wednesday, shoots from 25 yards and it nestles in the top corner of the Forest net.

    Wow.

  15. HALF-TIME: Bolton 0-2 Middlesbroughpublished at 20:49 BST 9 April 2019

Poor Bolton have done nothing but try to reward their fans with a first-half of endeavour and graft but a moment of sheer fortune and a moment of sheer quality undid them in the opening 45.

Ashley Fletcher got the goals which have lifted a Boro side on the back of six straight defeats. Barring an upset, they've managed to end that run at the University of Bolton Stadium.

    Bolton 0-2 Middlesbrough

Remi Matthews does brilliantly to tip Ashley Fletcher's shot round the post, almost a carbon copy of his opener.

Middlesbrough cruising now, although Bolton continue to keep up their best efforts in reply.

It's fair to say the second Middlesbrough goal has knocked out a bit of Bolton's stuffing.

They continue to toil, to graft but right now it's Boro who hold the cards, Ashley Fletcher denied a hat-trick only by the bravery of goalkeeper Remi Matthews.

There are five minutes to the break.

  18. League One/League Two headlinespublished at 20:42 BST 9 April 2019

    Sunderland celebrateImage source, Rex Features

As things stand, Sunderland are moving into League One's automatic promotion places after quickly equalising at home to Burton to reach half-time at 1-1.

Charlton - who are by no means out of the race for the top two - are 1-0 up at Wycombe.

And in League Two, the EFL's bottom club Macclesfield are battling hard as they aim for a win that will lift them out of the relegation zone. Sol Campbell's side equalised, only to concede moments later against Exeter, but a penalty in the fourth minute of injury time has levelled things again at 2-2.

Preston v LeedsImage source, Getty Images

Preston have done an excellent job of stalling Leeds' fluid and flamboyant football.

Not a great number of chances, with Patrick Bamford and Mateusz Klich sending shots wide but credit to North End, they've been superb in terms of closing Leeds down.

In fact, in Lukas Nmecha's effort, which struck the side netting, was probably the best we've seen.
