McLennan found that pocket of space on the right. Ferguson stabs it to Stevie May, who pays in the youngster. The youngster takes his time and side-foots it into the net. Magnificent goal.

GOAL Rangers 0-2 Aberdeenpublished at 21:05 GMT 12 March 2019

    Connor McLennan

Oh my goodness! Aberdeen land a thunderous blow on the chin of Rangers.

They've withstood so much pressure. They've had roughly a third of possession. They've had only one shot in over an hour of football - until now.

A brilliant attacking move, with Ferguson playing in May up the right. He slides it into the path of Connor McLennan, who is allowed to canter unmarked right into the home box.

The 19-year-old shows great composure to roll the ball beyond Allan McGregor.

Rangers have a mountain to climb now.

  4. Morelos threatens againpublished at 21:04 GMT 12 March 2019

    Rangers 0-1 Aberdeen

Still, Rangers press. Still, they can't get the ball in the net.

Niall McGinn's clearance only finds Ryan Jack, who gives it to Daniel Candeias.

The winger's cross is met by the head of Alfredo Morelos, but his header loops well over the bar.

  5. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 21:02 GMT 12 March 2019

    Hearts 2-1 Partick Thistle

Uche Ikpeazu causes havoc in the Partick box as he bustles his way towards goal and tumbles under a challenge from Steven Anderson. Looks a decent penalty shout but referee Bobby Madden is having none of it and Anderson goes off for treatment before returning to the action.

  6. McKenna makes vital interventionpublished at 21:01 GMT 12 March 2019

    Rangers 0-1 Aberdeen

Wonderful attacking play from Rangers as Tavernier and Ryan Kent exchange passes inside the Aberdeen box.

The Rangers captain swivels on to his right foot but his shot is well blocked by Scott McKenna.

    Rangers 0-1 Aberdeen

    Quote Message

I don’t see Aberdeen doing anything too intricate or clever. I think they’ll just try and clip balls in behind Rangers and turn them, get their backs facing away from goal and keep them up there while eating into time.

  8. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 20:59 GMT 12 March 2019

    Hearts 2-1 Partick Thistle

Christie Elliott goes off for Partick, with Joe Cardle taking over. Boss Gary Caldwell will look for the winger to add creativity as his side seek a comeback.

  9. McGinn booked after catching McGregorpublished at 20:59 GMT 12 March 2019

    Rangers 0-1 Aberdeen

Allan McGregor has had a few run-ins with Aberdeen this term, receiving a retrospective ban for a challenge on Lewis Ferguson at Pittodrie.

The Rangers goalkeeper is furious as he hits the deck under a Niall McGinn challenge after clearing the ball.

The Northern Irishman's boot was raised but it doesn't look like there was much contact. The irate McGregor crashes to ground and shouts at Kevin Clancy, who shows McGinn a yellow card.

  10. Rangers must 'keep their nerve'published at 20:54 GMT 12 March 2019

    Rangers 0-1 Aberdeen

    Willie Miller

    Quote Message

The pattern of the game will be like first half. Aberdeen will be trying to make sure Rangers don’t get any chances. For Rangers it’s a matter of keeping their nerve, continue moving the ball sharply and not getting carried away by the crowd.

  11. May doing the chasingpublished at 20:53 GMT 12 March 2019

    Rangers 0-1 Aberdeen

Stevie May's covered some yardage tonight as Aberdeen's loan striker. Some if it has been without reward, but his early running in the second half yields a throw-in which leads to a corner for the visiting side.

It's Aberdeen's first of the night but Rangers deal with it.

    HT: Rangers 0-1 Aberdeen

There's some sort of toilet-roll-type paper being flung on to the park at Ibrox at the Broomloan Stand end.

The stewards are on to mop up the streamers fluttering towards the pitch before the second half can begin.

  14. Teams outpublished at 20:47 GMT 12 March 2019

We're ready for kick-off again. Are there more twists in store? You wouldn't bet against it.

  15. 'Such a poor set-up' for Aberdeen goalpublished at 20:43 GMT 12 March 2019

    HT: Rangers 0-1 Aberdeen

    Neil McCann
Former Rangers winger on BBC Sportsound

    Quote Message

The Aberdeen goal will really disappoint Steven Gerrard. Such a poor set-up. A throw-in in your left-back area, the Rangers players are not spread out, so many of them are lined up the left - it's the old-fashioned, let's throw it down the line. Because they're so imbalanced, Kamara tries a really dangerous square ball and he paid the price.

  16. 'A good game in wet conditions'published at 20:39 GMT 12 March 2019

    HT: Hearts 2-1 Partick Thistle

    Allan Preston

    Quote Message

It's been a very good game given the wet conditions. Scott McDonald scored the opener and at that point Thistle were the better side, frustrating Hearts, with the crowd getting on their backs. Hearts made a good recovery, the strength and power of Uche Ikpeazu getting them level before calamitous defending allowed Jake Mulraney to win the penalty that Sean Clare stuck away.

  17. County up at the breakpublished at 20:36 GMT 12 March 2019

    HT: Ross County 2-0 Falkirk

Let's not forget about the Championship tonight, with Brian Graham and Keith Watson both on target for the league leaders.

Barring a Falkirk revival, County will go 11 points clear at the summit.

  18. HALF-TIME Hearts 2-1 Partick Thistlepublished at 20:34 GMT 12 March 2019

Strong response to going behind from Hearts. They didn't panic and turned the deficit into a 2-1 lead in the space of 18 minutes thanks to a fine Uche Ikpeazu strike and Sean Clare penalty. Partick, who led through Scott McDonald, still pose a threat on the counter, though, and will be kicking themselves at the silly spot-kick they gifted the hosts.

  19. HALF-TIME Rangers 0-1 Aberdeenpublished at 20:32 GMT 12 March 2019

    Well, that was uneventful...

Niall McGinn's opportunistic goal after just three minutes separates the teams at the break.

The Northern Irishman seized on a poor Glen Kamara pass on the edge of the Rangers box and fired low into the home net.

Since then, it's been all Rangers, but Aberdeen have defended stoutly.

Daniel Candeias spurned a glorious chance to play in a team-mate on the counterattack before Aflredo Morelos, as he was at Pittodrie, was booked for simulation in the Dons box - he'll miss the semi-final if Rangers get there.

Aberdeen's resistance was almost broken when former Dons captain Ryan Jack struck the post late in the half, but at the moment it Derek McInnes' men who are on course for the last four.

  20. Morelos menacingpublished at 20:30 GMT 12 March 2019

    Rangers 0-1 Aberdeen

Alfredo Morelos is getting right in about the Aberdeen defence, the Colombian driving his way past a tackle to the edge of the box.

Lewis Ferguson has a hand on his back - there isn't much contact as Morelos flies rather theatrically to deck, but it's enough for Kevin Clancy to give a foul 20 yards out...

James Tavernier's free-kick is deflected off the wall and behind for a corner that Aberdeen get clear.
