West Ham are inconsistent but, even if they have a bad day, it is hard to make much of a case for a Fulham side who are yet to win on the road in the league this season, and have the worst away record in the Premier League.

    Prediction: 2-0

Fulham manager Claudio Ranieri: "We have to fight, every match is important in the fight for survival. It is difficult because they have very good players.

"They [West Ham] are safe and for us it is important to show our strength and I want to see my players make their destiny."

Watford head coach Javi Gracia: "Cardiff need the points and I must convince my players we need them as well. We have to show it.

"I know how difficult it will be for us to win on Friday. It will be a demanding game as they are in their best moment of the season after winning two games [in a row]. Playing there will be difficult.

"They have changed something, with some players, some players in other positions. They have another balance and now they are competing better."

Neither side has played since 9 February, so there may be some rustiness to shake off in the opening exchanges.

The big West Ham team news comes on the bench, where Argentine midfielder Manuel Lanzini returns to the squad after eight months out with a knee injury.

On the pitch, Pablo Zabaleta replaces Ryan Fredericks in the only change to the draw against Crystal Palace last time out.

West Ham XI: Fabianski, Zabaleta, Diop, Ogbonna, Cresswell, Rice, Antonio, Noble, Snodgrass, Anderson, Hernandez.

West Ham v Fulham (19:45 GMT)

Fulham make three significant changes to the side that lost at home to Manchester United.

Teenage star Ryan Sessegnon returns, as does skipper Tom Cairney. There's a debut for January signing Harvard Nordtveit...against his old club.

Fulham XI: Rico, Odoi, Ream, Chambers, Nordtveit, Bryan, Seri, Cairney, Sessegnon, Babel, Mitrovic.

  17. How it stands in the tablepublished at 18:43 GMT 22 February 2019

Every game is a big game for Fulham and Cardiff while they remain in a relegation battle. Claudio Ranieri's side are in trouble having only picked up 17 points this season and not a single one on the road - the only side in the Premier League not to.

They remain eight points from safety, while Cardiff sit just one point above the drop zone.

It's been a much better season for Watford and West Ham, who are both sitting comfortably in the top half of the table.

Watford have surpassed all expectations and are currently in a mini battle to be crowned champions of the 'outside of the top six' group. They are two points behind seventh-placed Wolves and could overtake them with victory tonight against Cardiff.

The Hammers are level on points with Everton and Bournemouth and are nine points above the relegation zone with a far superior goal difference so aren't in any real danger.

  20. Chelsea banned from signing playerspublished at 18:35 GMT 22 February 2019

The biggest news today is that Chelsea have been banned from signing players in the next two transfer windows for breaching rules in relation to youth players.

The ban, until the end of January 2020, does not prevent the release of players and will not apply to their women's and futsal teams.

Chelsea have said they will appeal against the decision.

They have also been fined £460,000, while the Football Association has been fined £390,000.
