    Cardiff 0-0 Watford

Joe Bennett whips an early ball into Oumar Niasse but the Cardiff striker is stretching as he controlled it and it just gets away from him.

    Nice idea though.

  2. GREAT SAVE!published at 1 min

    West Ham 0-0 Fulham

Got to score! What a chance for Fulham and it's a horrible miss from Ryan Babel!

It's a loose, blind backpass from Pablo Zabaleta and Babel is clean through after about 30 seconds! Babel hesitates, waits, he doesn't really know what to do and ends up shooting straight at Lukasz Fabianski.

You do not get better chances than that in the Premier League...

It's a massive ask for Fulham, at this stage of the season, to make up the eight points on third-bottom and climb out of the bottom three.

To stay in touch and give themselves any hope then these are the type of fixtures, from here on in, that they have to think about winning.

West Ham v Fulham (19:45 GMT)

    Jonathan Pearce
BBC Match of the Day commentator

The Marko Arnautovic 'China syndrome' has derailed West Ham's progress. They haven't won in their last five league and cup games. He needs to refocus and would do well to emulate Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Week in, week out he has given everything for a struggling side. If Fulham go down - which seems probable - the Hammers should go for him. Irons fans love battlers and distrust big egos.

They'd also love to see Manuel Lanzini back in the side. It would be a major boost for their flagging campaign.

I'll be saddened if Fulham go. But with just two away points and the worst defence in all of Europe's top divisions they need a miracle.

  10. 'Massive game for Cardiff'published at 19:36 GMT 22 February 2019

    Cardiff v Watford (19:45 GMT)

    BBC Radio 5 live

Former Premier League midfieldler Jonathan Greening: "It's a massive game for Cardiff, playing against a strong Watford team who are hard to beat.

"It won't be an easy game but they can go up to 13th so that'd be a great result if they could get the three points tonight."

    West Ham United

West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini: "I think Manuel Lanzini for every manager would be a player that makes a difference.

"Seeing Manuel working during the last two weeks, for me I am confident that he will return in a very good shape because he is not afraid."

  13. 'A truly entertaining encounter'published at 19:33 GMT 22 February 2019

    Cardiff v Watford (19:45 GMT)

    Alistair Mann
    Match of the Day commentator

That Neil Warnock has been in Argentina attending the funeral of Emiliano Sala puts into genuine perspective how trivial attempting to stave off relegation seems in comparison.

In his own words: "Things like this don't happen in football. I have been a manager nearly 40 years and I've never known anything like this."

This terrible tragedy has brought the entire club together and, as their recent performances prove, the players have been playing with an honesty and a commitment which demonstrates their unity. In truth, unlike others in the relegation scrap, they are simply numb to the pressure.

Secure in mid-table, Watford are also playing with freedom and this could turn out to be a truly entertaining encounter.

    This is just... wow.

Zenit FC rolled into their St Petersburg stadium in spectacular fashion ahead of their Europa League game on Thursday - as fans formed a flare-lit honour guard stretching the length of the road.

No scenes like this in London or Cardiff at the moment... probably a good thing!

  16. The man breaking Robson's recordpublished at 19:26 GMT 22 February 2019

Leicester v Crystal Palace (Sat, 17:30 GMT)

On Saturday, Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson will overtake Sir Bobby Robson as the oldest man to manage a Premier League game.

He will be 71 years and 198 days old when Palace visit Leicester.

Before that game, we speak to some of those closest to him during his time in England - and the man himself - to find out how someone who reads Chekhov and likes opera has sustained himself at the top level for so long.

It's all in this wonderful piece.

  18. 'Best team outside the top six'published at 19:21 GMT 22 February 2019

    Cardiff v Watford (19:45 GMT)

    Cardiff City

Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock: "To get three wins on the trot in the Premier League for a club like Cardiff is nigh-on impossible.

"Watford are probably the best team in the league outside the top six. They're a strong, physical side who have got good players and, although it was 3-2 down there, they beat us well.

"But in adversity you tend to pull together and that's been the situation here. What's happened has made us play more of a tempo. We've got good players, and it's about believing in ourselves."

  20. Laporte signs new dealpublished at 19:17 GMT 22 February 2019

There's been some other interesting news today.

Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte has signed a two-year contract extension at the Premier League champions, taking his deal to 2025.

The French centre-back joined City from Spanish La Liga club Athletic Bilbao for a club record £57m in January 2018 and has played in all 27 of City's Premier League games this season.

    More on that here.
