Grim times on the Underground indeed. The entire reason this game is being played tonight, and not on New Year's Eve, is because of insufficient train coverage on that date. Not good.

You've not missed too much so far, Spurs controlling the game with 79% possession so far.

Stuck on a metropolitan line - it has taken 1h30 to get from Farringdon to Wembley Park: we can see the stadium but not quite at the station yet!!!! Lots of chanting fans here, none happy as you'd expect!

    Unhappy fans

    Tottenham 0-0 West Ham

A first real breather for West Ham after Dele Alli commits a foul on midfield, it's a foul which was not really necessary and angers Mauricio Pochettino no end. He's fuming, the Spurs boss.

Son then fouls Pablo Zabaleta and West Ham have a free-kick in a decent area.

Tottenham are full strength and West Ham aren't. David Moyes has one eye on one or two games coming up in the next weeks. He'd take a point if offered one right away.

Spurs have a corner and Adrian makes a right mess of claiming the ball, he drops it after colliding with his own midfielder. The ball drops for Davinson Sanchez, who must think he has scored his first for the club but his shot is blocked by a man in claret.

Kane then shovels a shot across the goalmouth after Son's cross is deflected away - well cleared by Declan Rice!

What David Moyes has improved is West Ham's work rate, work ethic, their organisation is better. You can understand exactly what he is trying to do, which was not the case before.

Almost time to get going at Wembley then - I'd estimate Wembley is about 60% occupied at the moment.

Disappointed to see Trippier on the bench tonight. He should start every game. His all round game is better than Aurier in my opinion. Plus he's in my fantasy team!

West Ham's bench is stretched tonight - youngsters Sead Haksabanovic, Antonio Martinez, Domingos Quina and Moses Makasi join Andre Ayew, Andy Carroll and Joe Hart.

It is a simple equation - you keep Harry Kane, you make a statement. We are not going to sell our best players any more - end of.

That sends out a warning that we are not a feeder club any more, we are going to stand our ground and add to it.

Spurs need to make that statement. They need to keep Harry Kane. If you want to keep him, you have to pay the going rate.

  19. New deal for Kane?published at 19:40 GMT 4 January 2018

There are reports doing the rounds that Harry Kane is set to be offered a new contract to stay at Tottenham - a hefty wedge of £200,000 a week which would make him the highest-paid Englishman in the league...

  20. Carroll is injured, confirms Moyespublished at 19:39 GMT 4 January 2018

Tottenham v West Ham (20:00 GMT)

West Ham boss David Moyes has confirmed that Andy Carroll, on the bench, has an injury - as has Marko Arnautovic, who is not in the squad.

He told Sky Sports: "Andy has had an injury this week.

"Spurs are one of the top teams. But we'll hopefully have a go. We have to be compact and make us difficult to play against. We've done well in some of the big games."
