Funky J: Newcastle and Rafa got universal criticism for being defensive against Man City - who were in red hot form. West Ham do the same against a not so in-form Spurs - I bet they and Moyes don't get near the same level of criticism.

John Logan: Point is also that Moyes has looked at the players he's got and obviously feels they can't compete so if he gets a point or sneaks a win out this then he's done his job. You can only blame him for way they are playing when he has his own players in place

    Tottenham 0-0 West Ham

It's all gone scrappy as both sides trade possession. West Ham close to a successful first half, all going to plan for David Moyes. The home crowd sound a touch frustrated for the first time as Moussa Sissoko flunks a pass out of play.

    Tottenham 0-0 West Ham

West Ham push men forwards for the first real time as Manuel Lanzini leads the charge but that leaves them short at the back as Spurs counter. Not for the first time tonight though, Angelo Ogbonna heads away a good cross.

  5. CLOSE!published at 34 mins

    Tottenham 0-0 West Ham

Best chance so far! Eric Dier plays a great ball from deep, out to the right, Serge Aurier heads it across goal and Harry Kane is all alone.

You'd back him to score - but the header it a bit strong and Kane can neither take a touch to control, or get a shot away. The ball squirts off his left foot and goes dead.

    Tottenham 0-0 West Ham

We've had one shot on target in the game so far, it's been more or less constant pressure from Spurs but West Ham are set up to be resolute and haven't looked too worried so far.

Jonathan Charles: Sounds very quiet inside Wembley tonight. Becoming a theme in some EPL games: it’s really uninspiring watching teams park the bus.

Jon Hare: Hammers playing counter-attacking football without the counter-attacking! No wonder there are transport problems in North London when the bus is stuck in Wembley

  8. CLOSE!published at 30 mins

    Tottenham 0-0 West Ham

Adrian has to save again, with his feet this time as Son's shot/cross from the left comes into the goalmouth. Christian Eriksen then flashes a shot wide from 22 yards.

Shot on target! Harry Kane starts and ends a move with a curling effort from 20 yards which Adrian reads and pushes to safety. Eric Dier smashes the loose ball very much over the bar.

Got to do better! Moussa Sissoko gets a poor pass from Hugo Lloris and he's dispossessed by Manuel Lanzini. In the middle, Javier Hernandez is all alone and he's in on goal with a simple pass to him.

Lanzini can't find him though, that's a poor pass, and he knows it.

West Ham will be happy with this. They've taken the sting out of Spurs' tempo going forward. It's 10 men behind the ball and they haven't allowed Spurs in behind. They've only had half-chances.

    Tottenham 0-0 West Ham

A wonderful, if meaningless, stat. This is Spurs' 11th Premier League game on a Thursday. They have not lost any of the previous 10 (W6 D4). It's the most number of games a team has played on a specific day of the week without defeat in the Premier League's history.

Their last top-flight loss on a Thursday was against Nottingham Forest, on Boxing Day 1991.

    Tottenham 0-0 West Ham

West Ham get into the Spurs area for arguably the first time, it comes from a Spurs man losing the ball in midfield. Javier Hernandez is free on the right hand side of the area but his cutback is just ahead of Mark Noble and the chance is gone.

The ultimate attack v defence game.

This graphic shows the average position of each player's touches - which is why, as some of you noticed, Angelo Ogbonna was actually deeper than his goalkeeper in the first one...

I don't think Spurs need Eric Dier and Moussa Sissoko out there. Fernando Llorente to join Harry Kane up front?

West Ham are camped in their own half. Their own area, to be honest.

    Tottenham 0-0 West Ham

Never say never, but the pattern of this game suggests that the best West Ham can hope for is a 0-0.

The Hammers have completed 31 passes so far, Spurs 111.

Harry Kane looks like he just drifts offside. No complaints. The ball comes in and could go anywhere. But it goes to him. That's why he gets so many goals - because he's quicker and clever than his marker.

West Ham have to stay in the game.

  18. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 16 mins

Ball in the net - but the flag was up. Harry Kane is a yard offside as he gets to the near post and hits a shot which goes in off the shins of Winston Reid.

It was so tight and congested. Spurs tried to work their way through, you thought Son had a yard, but he didn't, then you thought Kane had a yard and he didn't.

  20. CLOSE!published at 15 mins

    Tottenham 0-0 West Ham

Credit where it's due - excellent defending! Spurs find Harry Kane inside the area, you'd expect a goal but he is crowded out by a host of Hammers bodies. Kane's shot is blocked and Christian Eriksen's follow-up is also blocked.
