Here come Tottenham again, but goalscorer Harry Kane is crowded out as he converges on the Everton penalty area. The Goodison faithful are getting a tad restless.

Spurs have had 61% possession so far, but crucially they have the goal to go with that pressure. Good start from the visitors and they are looking threatening with every attack.

Everton should have heeded the warning. Eric Dier and Harry Kane combine again as the Tottenham full-back delivers a lovely cross into the area and Kane heads in from close range. That's 31 goals for the season.

  4. CLOSE!published at 15:24 BST 24 May 2015

Kevin Mirallas goes close again. He collects a bouncing ball on the edge of the area, juggles it a touch and then fires a left-footed shot over the bar. Hugo Lloris looked beaten there.

Harry Kane almost on the end of Eric Dier's low cross to the near post but it's just too quick for the Spurs striker. Dangerous for Everton, though.

"Spurs are definitely dictating the play at the moment, Everton reduced to the counter-attack."

  7. CLOSE!published at 15:19 BST 24 May 2015

Straight away a chance at the other end. Kevin Mirallas is set free but with only Hugo Lloris to beat, the Belgian slides it straight into the Spurs goalkeeper's arms.

  8. CLOSE!published at 15:18 BST 24 May 2015

Everton teenager Brendan Galloway, who may have a few nerves on his home debut, will be mightily relieved after being dispossessed by Christian Eriksen. The Dane sets up Erik Lamela, but Tim Howard get a hand on his shot and recovers to stop the ball trickling in.

I have to say, I quite like the fact that midfielder Nabil Bentaleb is playing left-back today. He's 20 and will learn by playing there. Not enough young players get a chance to play in other positions, in my view. Great experience.

  10. Postpublished at 15:11 BST 24 May 2015

Everton have not really got going yet. Young left-back Brendan Galloway marauds down the left but his cross is easily cut out.

Tottenham appeal for a penalty as Ryan Mason plays a one-two with Spurs team-mate Christian Eriksen and skips into the area. Despite close attention from Phil Jagielka, referee Jonathan Moss is not interested.

  12. Postpublished at 15:08 BST 24 May 2015

Plenty of Tottenham players on the ball. Ryan Mason getting a grip in midfield already and Christian Eriksen almost gets on the end of the young English midfielder's through ball.

The suggestions were that Tottenham would line up in a 3-5-1-1 formation, but it looks like Nabil Bentableb is playing at left-back. Erik Lamela fires over Tim Howards' crossbar from 25 yards.

  14. Postpublished at 15:04 BST 24 May 2015

Ryan Mason sets Eric Dier down the right but the Spurs' defender cannot reach the ball and his cross heads into the Gwladys Street end.

Patient passing from Everton so far. Gareth Barry trying to set Kevin Mirallas down the right wing but to no avail so far.

Right, the teams are out at Goodison, the sun is shining and it's the last time we'll be seeing these sides in action until 8 August, so we might as well make the most of it!

Mauricio Pochettino may have made less of an impact in his first season compared to Roberto Martinez, but at least he has got less of a chance in suffering from second-season syndrome.

Keeping it in your locker, eh Mauricio?

  19. Top-10 finish?published at 14:53 BST 24 May 2015

Everton boss Roberto Martinez: "We have our noses in front and we are in the top 10 but we expect Stoke and Crystal Palace to finish strongly so in that way we want to finish as well as we can in front of a sell-out crowd. It has been demanding campaign but we do feel we will get the benefits out of the journey."

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino: "It's a very important three points for us to finish the season well. We fight Liverpool for an important position in the table. We have a very good opportunity to achieve the fifth place."
