    Gordon Reid fans

Tense times for the Gordon Reid fan club as their man and doubles partner Alfie Hewett go down 6-2 in the opening set.

The French duo of Stephane Houdet and Nicolas Peifer looked in control after a break early in the first set and a series of unforced errors by teenager Hewett means GB have some work to do to salvage this match.

Remember, Reid and Hewett turn from being team-mates to rivals this time tomorrow when they face-off for singles gold.

    Women's 100m breaststroke SB6 final

And that is another one for the British team. Great Britain's Charlotte Henshaw has just claimed a bronze medal in the women's 100m breaststroke SB6 final.

The 29-year-old from Mansfield won silver in the same event at London four years ago.

Henshaw was born with bilateral tibial hypoplasia and had both legs amputated above the knee at age 18 months.

Ellie Simmonds, who took gold in the women's 200m individual medley SM6 and a bronze in the women's 400m freestyle S6 in Rio, misses out this time as she finishes fourth.

I don't think there was a better odds-on favourite this week than Marlou van Rhijn. This is her domain. This is what she does.

It wasn't quite a world record but I don't think that matters. She came here to retain her title. I would expect her to get the sprint double in the 100m.

A couple of world records to let you know about.

In the pool, Levgenii Bogodaiko of Ukraine, wins the men's 100m breaststroke SB6 in a time of one minute 18.71 seconds, while Hungary's Tamas Sors has also set a new world's best of 27.13 seconds in the men's 50m butterfly.

A shaky start from the Dutch sensation but she passes French rival Amelie Le Fur and powers her way down the home straight to take gold.

Van Rhijn catches Le Fur on the bend and as soon as she was clear of all challenges, the result was never in doubt.

It's a new Paralympic record of 26.16 seconds.

Britain's Laura Sugar finishes in fith as she dives over the line to clock a time of 28.31 seconds. Her next chance to medal will be in the 100m on Saturday.

That was an incredible race from Tatyana McFadden. It was tactical in the early stages and then a long sprint for home from 600m but Manuela Schaer didn't have the answer.

It's a 1-2-3 for USA yet again. And there weren't team tactics in this like the 1500m. It was every American for themselves and it was superb to see Tatyana in such amazing form.

    Wheelchair Basketball: men's semi-final

    Elizabeth Hudson
BBC Sport's Paralympics reporter in Rio

The British fans are making their presence felt at the Rio Olympic Arena, among them seven-year-old Benjamin Bywater who is supporting dad Terry along with mum Jodie.

Benjamin has a special t-shirt for the occasion with his dad's name and number on the back and he told me the best things about being in Brazil were watching the basketball and swimming in the pool.

"We've seen Terry for about three weeks in the last four months," Jodie said. "The players have all made a lot of sacrifices to get here."

It's been a tense opening quarter in the men's wheelchair basketball semi-final with Great Britain holding a narrow 14-12 lead over Spain.

The sides met at last year's European Championships with GB winning 70-58. Can they repeat that success?

Reigning Paralympic T44 200m champion Marlou van Rhijn of the Netherlands discusses the influence of new coach Percy Marte and carbon fibre blades on her dream of sprint glory at Rio 2016 in this interview with BBC Sport.

Van Rhijn is the world recorder holder over both sprint distances but struggles with getting out of the blocks.

The reason she is so good though, is her pick up speed, so watch out for the last 50m or you might miss a very impressive time.

Gold, gold and more gold for supreme superstar Tatyana McFadden.

The six-time world champion had to fight to overtake Switzerland's Manuela Schar with one lap to go but as soon as she heard the final lap bell she was off in a blink.

Compatriots cChelsea McClammer and Amanda McGrory will complete an American sweep but it's McFadden who crosses first in 11:54.07.

These women will race again later in the women's 4x400m relay. But McFadden is in a class of her own with three gold medals in Rio.

    Women's 200m T44 final (21:45 BST)

Laura Sugar will hope to prove in Rio that she picked the right sport after the multi-talented athlete concentrated fully on athletics last year.

The 25-year-old from Saffron Walden was a former hockey player for Wales until she realised she could compete as a Paralympic athlete with the ankle impairment she has.

Sugar was born with club foot, meaning her foot was turned inwards at birth and the PE teacher didn't believe that she could qualify for the Paralympics until a hockey physio pointed her in the direction.

Sugar has since left her job to concentrate on athletics full time and that could be a profitable decision if she's in the mix for medals tonight.

You know the "Aussie, Aussie, Aussie!" chant Australian fans always make at sporting events?

A large group of British supporters have just adapted it to "GeeBeee, GeeeBeee, GeeeBeee," ... Mixed success, but it drew a few laughs and a round of applause from the rest of the spectators.

GB fans certainly here in greater numbers than those to support the French duo - let's hope that helps Hewett and Reid!

Hewitt and Reid are currently trailing 3-1 in the opening set against French pair Stephane Houdet and Nicolas Peifer.

He's been a busy man over the course of the tournament and is hoping the men's team can defeat Spain in the semi-final.

"The GB men have been outstanding so far,  just need to go out, relax and do it!"

Silver is a good achievement for any athlete but if you're Claire Cashmore, you might get sick of the sight of it after coming so close to gold on many occasions.

Cashmore, 28, has been on the British swimming team since the age of 16 and has only managed to come away from three Paralympics with bags of bronzes and silvers.

But like Steph Millward, who won her first Paralympic gold after 18 years of trying in Rio, has never given up.

Will she finally get to take that golden step up on the podium tonight?

More from the Great Britain women's wheelchair basketball team after their semi-final loss to the United States.

Scot Robyn Love, who only took up wheelchair basketball less than three years ago, believes they can win bronze in Friday's medal match.

"We've beaten the Paralympic champions in Germany, challenged the USA, who are the favourites and tomorrow we won't be scared. We will be united, fearless and fight hard," she said.

"We'll learn from this loss and I'm proud of us all."
