And that is one set all in the wheelchair tennis. Great British duo Alfie Hewitt and Gordon Reid lost the first set 6-2, but have just won the second 6-4 against French pair Stephane Houdet and Nicolas Peifer.

We are going to have a one-set shoot-out for the gold. Great drama.

Some more quotes from Richard Whitehead, who has been speaking to BBC Radio 5 live following his silver medal success: "I feel I need to run better but I've done my job for the team. A gold and a silver. But I can do better. That's just the perfectionist in me.

"I've got a lot more to give to the sport. I feel I can run faster and go sub-12 seconds in that race.

"I'll definitely be back for London 2017 but I don't know about Tokyo 2020. I'll tell you more when I come to that decision."

Silver medallist Richard Whitehead tells BBC Sport: "As a 100m runner I think to myself I've come a long way from London. I came seventh in the final and that was a great feat for me.

"There's no way someone without legs should win that race but I think I can win it. I have the mindset to do it and maybe this is going to drive me on the for the future.

"I'm really happy as team captain. I feel I have fulfilled my role in the team. I have come away with a silver and a gold. I'm disappointed I didn't win the gold but that's the perfection in myself. I feel I can run faster and break 12 seconds for the 100m."

But they finished the quarter strongly to make it 49-43 and the fans have found their voices again.

    Men's 100m T42 final - Whitehead wins silver

    Tanni Grey-Thompson
11-time Paralympic champion on BBC Radio 5 live

I think Richard Whitehead could get better. I feel similar with him as I do with Dame Sarah Storey. I wish she had come to cycling earlier and I wish he had come to sprinting earlier.

I think he could do 2017 (World Championships in London). The way he is running right now and the way he is learning about sprinting, I think Tokyo is a possibility for him.

I think he will have a different kind of self confidence for running the 100m. Now he can see what he can do, I think he will get better and better.

Wheelchair Tennis: Men's doubles gold medal match

    Nick Hope
BBC Sport's Paralympics reporter in Rio

GB's Gordon Reid and Alfie Hewett are starting to find their range finally - but a few errors are keeping things very interesting in the men's doubles final against French pair Stephane Houdet and Nicolas Peifer.

There was an interesting moment early in the second set when it looked as though the French duo had hit an unreachable shot to level at 1-1, however a ballgirl reached in to pick up the ball before it had bounced for a third time and whilst Hewett was closing in.

GB protested and the point was replayed, the French double faulted handing the British pair a break and a 2-0 lead.

Since then Houdet and Peifer have broken back - but despite leading after the first set this match is far from over.

It was just too much to run down. It wasn't quite as a good a start as we saw from Richard Whitehead in the heats.

Scott Reardon just got out. I'm sure he was surprised how close Richard got in the heats. Heinrich Popow was nowhere.

What a finish from Richard Whitehead. That was so close.

Whitehead stumbled out of the blocks as Scott Reardon of Australia on one leg races away for the gold.

But Whitehead, a double amputee, comes storming back to make sure of a podium finish as he's stride for stride with Denmark's Daniel Wagner.

There was probably a hair length between them but the judges can't decide so the Dane and Whitehead are both awarded a silver medal. Phenomenal stuff.

This is an anxious time for the Great Britain team and their supporters.

They trail Spain 35-28 at half-time in their semi-final and definitely will need to improve on their shooting percentage (42%) after the break to get into this.

Gaz Choudhry and Ian Sagar have eight points apiece but Spanish captain Asier Garcia is causing all sorts of problems with 15 points and seven rebounds.
