American Tatyana McFadden has already won a gold medal tonight in the 5,000m to complete a golden hat trick in Rio.

She goes for her fourth as a team member next in the women's T53-54 4x400m relay.

And she's not finished yet. She'll go for two more medals and that finishes on Sunday with the marathon.

    Women's 4x100m T35-38 final (23:31 BST)

Before the Paralympics started, Great Britain's Para-cycling and Para-athletics world champion Kadeena Cox spoke to BBC disability news correspondent Nikki Fox about her ambitions for the Paralympic Games in Rio.

It is fair to say Cox has had a Paralympics she will never forget with two gold medals - one on the track and one in the velodrome - with a further bronze in athletics.

Cox is part of a British quartet aiming for athletics relay gold as her, Georgie Hermitage, Sophie Hahn and Olivia Breen go in the women's 4x100m t35-38 final.

It is silver for the British men's pairing of Gordon Reid and Alfie Hewett in the wheelchair tennis men's doubles.

French duo Stephane Houdet and Nicolas Peifer take the gold with a 6-2 4-6 6-1 win.

At least Reid and Hewett have the knowledge that one of them will be winning a gold medal tomorrow, as team-mates become enemies (only briefly) as they play each other for the singles gold medal.

This 19-year-old is one for the future. Gold already in the 400m and he takes another in the 800m.

Pongsakorn was stuck in the middle of the pack on the first lap but saved his energy to open up on the home straight to win it by a chair length as he blasts past France's Pierre Fairbank.

Canada's Brent Lakatos led from the front for the first lap but he couldn't hold off the challengers from behind.

His wife, Britain's Stef Reid, will be ecstatic with the way he fought back as he just catches up with the leaders to add a bronze to his 100m gold and 400m silver.

Here are some more quotes from gold medal-winning canoeist Jeanette Chippington, who won gold earlier on today.

She told BBC Sport: "I have to pinch myself. Give me a couple of years and it will probably sink in. I don't often say this but I'm really proud of myself.

"I didn't know I'd got the gold. The German girl crossed the line and screamed and the cameras were on here. It wasn't until I got to boat control they said I had got the gold."

    How did the Paralympics start?

The Paralympics have changed many lives and I'm sure have been a motivation to most of you reading this.

But how did it all start?

Dr. Ludwig Guttman said he "dreamed of a world where people with disabilities could compete", when he was treating injured servicemen at Stoke Mandeville hospital in 1948.

Since then, a small archery tournament has transformed into a global showpiece and Radio 5 live spoke to the daughter of the Paralympics pioneer.

Gordon Reid and Alfie Hewett level the match at one set all, recovering from their first set loss of 2-6 by taking the second 6-4.

'Team Reid' fans rise to their feet to salute their hero. It's been a brilliant comeback and at the moment there seems little French pair Stephane Houdet and Nicolas Peifer can do to stop the GB duo.

Can Reid and Hewett maintain this pressure and claim GB's first-ever Paralympic doubles gold?

But it is bad news at the start of the deciding set as France come up with an early break of serve.

That's 10m in front of Britain's Holly Neill, who finishes in eighth with a throw of 23.13m

But Ireland will be happy at least.

Their woman Niamh McCarthy will fly home from Rio with a silver as her throw of 26.67m gets second spot on the podium.

Wilson and McKibbin lost the doubles in four sets before Bayley was beaten in the singles in straight sets.

But the result means they can still win a medal because they will play for bronze in their next game.

Bayley said: “We’ve just got to go again and try and win tomorrow. We’ll come back fighting and we’re looking forward to it.”

We've been talking about it, and now you can watch it.

Great Britain's Richard Whitehead looked to have no hope of a medal as he was down in seventh halfway through the men's 100m T42 final. But a storming finish sees him end in joint-second place.

It is some performance from the Brit, and well worth a watch.
