  1. Ind 293-6published at 41.5 overs

Topley replaces the rather sickly looking Wood.

Krunal is trying to put him away but Moeen chases down his cover drive and his pull to mid-wicket is cut off.

Thakur shows him how it's done, driving down the boundary for four.

  2. Ind 286-6published at 41 overs

Stokes continues - one of several England players who'll have booked their haircut for when they return home.

    Just three from it.

What do you think when you hear criticism of bowlers for not bowling at their top speed all of the time? Certainly in Test cricket.

It's a misplaced criticism, especially when it's coming from people who have never bowled fast a day in their lives. There are so many factors that contribute to bowling fast and it's difficult to maintain that all the time in Test cricket when you're playing day after day, month after month.

After battering in the last game it looks like India are really putting the pressure on themselves to score 350 or 360. They fear England's batting line-up. That is why they are losing wickets.

  5. Ind 283-6published at 40 overs

    Ten overs to go.

India got 77 off the last ten, and they'd have been hoping for at least the same again but their new batsmen are going to have to step up to make this the monster score that it had threatened to be.

  6. 6 runs

    Ind 283-6published at 39.5 overs

Shardul Thakur is the new batsman. Wood beats his bat but Thakur follows up by pulling him over the ropes - he doesn't look like he's hit it that hard but it just about makes it.

England keep chipping away. That is a great wicket for Stokes, especially to get rid of Hardik as we go into the last 10 overs. It is only bowlers to come now for India so Krunal is the key man.

    Vital wicket!

Hardik steps across his stumps, looking to help the ball down the leg side but it's too quick on him and he's bowled round his legs.

Hardik departs for 64 off just 44 balls. A great strike-rate, but he was well set and now India have two fresh batsman at the crease.

    Oh, that's sloppy.

Hardik drives into the covers and sub Chris Jordan lets the ball slip through the fingers and run to the boundary. And he's normally such a good fielder.

Wood trudges back to the boundary under the eye of sub Sam Billings, who's come on bearing drinks.

Big floppy hat back on for Wood, anything to keep cool.

  11. Ind 267-5published at 38 overs

Has Hardik clipped that behind? Wood and Buttler got up in half-hearted fashion - there's some discussion but they decide against reviewing it.

Replays show it didn't touch anything on the way through.

  12. Ind 267-5published at 37.5 overs

Mark Wood replaces Sam Curran for some express pace.

Bairstow dives to his left to block Hardik's drive into the covers. He comes up holding his hand and he's jogging off the field - worrying for England.

It is harder than you think, in 50-over cricket, to bowl in short, sharp bursts due to having long periods stood around in the field. It's harder to get fired up and really charge in as opposed to in T20 where you can give full effort for an hour and a half approximately.

  14. Ind 265-5published at 37 overs

That's Rashid done. His 10 overs have gone for 81 runs but the wickets of Rohit and Dhawan were superb bits of bowling.

England turn back to their quickest bowler, Mark Wood. Can he crank it up?

  16. Ind 264-5published at 36.5 overs

Short from Rashid and Hardik clubs him over mid-wicket into the stands.

  17. 50 runs

Hardik pushes Rashid into the covers and that's his 50 off just 36 balls. His brother Krunal is now down the other end to congratulate him.

That's a big wicket for England. Obviously with Rishabh Pant going like he was going, maybe he tried to get too funky but that's a really smart catch from Buttler.

    Oh, that's superb!

Pant tries to clip it away through leg it clips his outside edge. Buttler dives and takes it hard and low to his left - great catch.
