    England 0-0 Pakistan

Four minutes left in the first period and still scoreless. England have settled into the game and get the first penalty-corner of the game after a Pakistan foot stops the ball.

The ball is whipped out for the shot, which is well saved and the ball is out.

But in the midst of this, Sam Ward looks to have caught one of the Pakistan players in the head with his stick while going for the ball. The England player only had eyes for the ball however.

A few of the Pakistan players aren't happy, but it wasn't intentional. The referee deals with it well and play resumes.

Many in the crowd were distracted by the stadium MC orchestrating a section of the opposing stand in a pretend rollercoaster ride, but the English track-and-field connoisseurs in the stadium had Nick Miller covered.

The 24-year-old three-time British champion stepped up for a do-or-die throw after a disappointing opening two efforts and his titanic 76.48 throw may well win the whole darn shooting match. Only one other competitior - Scotland's Mark Dry - has ever thrown further in his life.

Miller get a smattering of applause and relieved cheers from on high while the screaming and shrieking continues on the make-believe big-dipper opposite.

Nile Wilson, after a brilliant gold in the all-around final yesterday and a team gold on Thursday, looks a bit untidy on the floor.

Such a shame, he's showing signs of tiredness and that won't challenge for a medal after he slipped on the double pike.

Wilson scores a disappointing 12.400 and Canada's Scott Morgan still leads with four gymnasts left.
