  1. Scheffler misses birdie puttpublished at 00:14 BST 20 June

    Scheffler E (15*)

Scottie Scheffler's driver has been reliable today as he pings another one up the fairway.

His approach - unsurprisingly - gives him another look at birdie.

Scheffler's 27-footer is not close to dropping. It's par.

  2. Postpublished at 00:12 BST 20 June

    McIlroy E, Fleetwood +1, Aberg +1 (17)

After a couple of fine approaches from Ludvig Aberg and Tommy Fleetwood, Rory McIlroy's radar is off again.

He's long from the 18th fairway and his ball barely holds the back of the green this time.

Par will be good from there.

  3. Centurion Scott's celebrations set to be cut shortpublished at 00:03 BST 20 June

    Scott +8 (15*)

Adam Scott's historic 100th consecutive major looks set to end at the halfway point.

The Australian is just the second man to reach the milestone - the legendary Jack Nicklaus was the first and set the mark at a frankly astonishing 146. To put that into context, 45-year-old Scott, who started this run in 2001, would have to play in every major for the next dozen years to catch the American!

Anyway, back to the present. just one birdie among six bogeys has left Scott needing to birdie the last three holes and even then he's likely to be one over the cut mark.

  4. Sand savespublished at 00:01 BST 20 June

    McIlroy E, Fleetwood +1, Aberg +1 (17)

No let-up for Rory McIlroy and Tommy Fleetwood, who find the bunker right of the green at the par-three 17th.

Gutsy sand saves from both, though.

One hole to play. They must feel wrecked at this stage. I know I do.

  5. Birdie for Schefflerpublished at 23:55 BST 19 June

    Scheffler E (14*)

Scottie Scheffler stripes his drive straight down the fairway on the par-five fifth.

    A good opportunity here.

He reaches the green in two and gives himself a 25-footer for eagle. The putt comes up short, but he taps in for birdie.

That ends a run of seven straight pars.

  6. Eagle for Reedpublished at 23:51 BST 19 June

    Reed +4 (14*)

Patrick Reed must have thought his week was done when he had a scruffy double bogey on the fourth, his 13th hole, that dropped him to outside the cut line at six over par.

But the American has taken out his frustrations on the par-five fifth. After reaching the green in two, he's drained a 16-footer for eagle.

It's the hope that kills you.

  7. McIlroy scrambles for parpublished at 23:49 BST 19 June

Rory McIlroy extinguishes the memory of his thinned chip on 15 with a masterful judge of the contours on 16, clipping his ball on to the top of the ridge and watching as it runs out to just under three feet.

And he makes no mistake from there. His first par of the back nine.

Ludvig Aberg holes out from eight feet for a bogey, which isn't a terrible outcome given his bunker troubles.

Tommy Fleetwood came up four feet short with a birdie attempt but he nudges in for par.

This group is starting to look a bit beaten up. The wind is up and the greens are starting to show that sun-baked brown tinge. Tough going.

  8. A rare bogeypublished at 23:47 BST 19 June

    Young +3 (16*)

Finally, Cam Young breaks his par run. But it's not in a good way.

The American fails to get up and down from a greenside bunker on the par-three seventh and he's suddenly looking nervously over his shoulder at the cut mark.

  9. Postpublished at 23:42 BST 19 June

    McIlroy E, Fleetwood +1, Aberg E (15)

    The struggles continue.

Rory McIlroy is down deep in the fescue for his third at the par-five. Ball well below his feet. No hope from there and his ball scampers through the green.

Meanwhile, Ludvig Aberg is just after duffing a bunker shot and hacked his fourth short of the green.

  10. Postpublished at 23:35 BST 19 June

    McIlroy E, Fleetwood +1, Aberg E (15)

Rory McIlroy takes some anger out on his drive at 16. He sends it 308 yards down the fairway, but still has 308 into this mammoth par-five.

And then he hooks one into trouble after watching Ludvig Aberg do the same.

Tommy Fleetwood, however, keeps it in the short grass and looks like the only one who might make birdie here.

  11. Koepka heading homepublished at 23:31 BST 19 June

    Koepka +8, Young +2 (15*)

Fifteen holes, 15 straight pars for Cameron Young. Solid.

Brooks Koepka, meanwhile, is heading for the exit door tonight. Three successive bogeys from the third, his 12th, has ruined any chances of him repeating his victory here in 2018.

  12. Postpublished at 23:29 BST 19 June

    Scheffler +1 (13*)

Stunning approach from Scottie Scheffler gives him a look at birdie from 16 feet on the fourth.

However, it never looked like going in. Once again, it's par.

  13. Solid Stevenspublished at 23:25 BST 19 June

    Stevens -3 (69)

Sam Stevens is scrambling a bit down the last after overshooting the 18th green with his second shot.

But his chip on is excellent and leaves himself with a four-footer to save par, which he rolls in. Two rounds in the 60s and the American is four off the lead going into the weekend.

From the bunker, McIlroy splashes out to 25 feet and he can only lag his bogey effort down to tap-in range.

    Bogey-bogey-bogey-birdie-birdie-double bogey.

    He's seven adrift again.

Tommy Fleetwood cards a five after a few troubles of his own around the green, while Ludvig Aberg fails to cash in on a stunning approach and remains birdie-less today.

  15. Rory drama continuespublished at 23:22 BST 19 June

    McIlroy -2, Fleetwood E, Aberg E (14)

    Deary me.

Rory McIlroy has just thinned his chip at the 15th across the green and into the bunker.

    The dramas continue.

  16. Postpublished at 23:16 BST 19 June

    McIlroy -2, Fleetwood E, Aberg E (14)

Rory McIlroy misses the fairway again. At 15, he draws a thick lie on the right and, unsurprisingly, he can't hold the back of the green with his approach. He's not in the worst spot, but some short-game wizardry required.

From the fescue, Tommy Fleetwood finds the bunker, but Ludvig Aberg plays a stunner straight over the banner and spins it back.

Great chance for the Swede to end his birdie drought.

  17. Same story for Schefflerpublished at 23:10 BST 19 June

    Scheffler +1 (12*)

The story of Scottie Scheffler's round continues - on the green in regulation and walking away with par.

He gives the 35-footer a good run. It leaves him a tricky one coming back, but he holes it for yet another par.

    Tidy golf, as ever.

  18. Stunning birdie from Rorypublished at 23:04 BST 19 June

    McIlroy -2, Fleetwood E, Aberg E (14)

What was that I was saying about gladly accepting a two-putt par?!

Rory McIlroy drains a 40-footer for birdie and moves back to two under. His ball was carrying speed as it made its way across the green but the hole got in the way!

What a bonus! He cracks a wry smile. Suddenly all is well in the world again. Golf, eh.

  19. Postpublished at 23:02 BST 19 June

    McIlroy -1, Fleetwood E, Aberg E (13)

Rory McIlroy shakes his head as he misses his first fairway of the day at the difficult par-four 14th.

But he catches a good break. His ball bounds through the thick stuff and nestles on the strip of grass where the galleries have been walking.

From there, he pumps a mid-iron into the heart of the green and will gladly accept a two-putt par from there.

  20. A+ from Alexpublished at 22:53 BST 19 June

Buoyed by that birdie on nine, Alex Fitzpatrick knocks a beauty into the 10th green and taps in for his second straight gain.

One under for the round and up into a tie for 12th.
