    Men's 3x3 wheelchair basketball

England have added to their medal tally but it's disappointment for men's 3x3 wheelchair basketball team as they come up short against Australia in the gold medal game.

Australia won it 19-13 so England have to settle for silver. Scotland were beaten by Canada in the bronze final a little earlier.

Silver medal - Oliver Morgan (England)published at 19:12 BST 29 July

    Men’s 100m backstroke final

It's silver for England's Oliver Morgan!

It was always going to be a tough ask to keep up with Pieter Coetze and so it proved as the South African takes his third gold of this Commonwealth Games.

A games record time of 51.77 for Coetze with Morgan 0.89 seconds behind.

Coetze's compatriot Ruard van Renen takes bronze in 53.31 seconds.

Can anyone overcome Pieter Coetze in our first race of the night? The South African has been in remarkable form at this Commonwealth Games.

England's Oliver Morgan is his closest challenger coming into the race, albeit the 23-year-old finished 0.89 seconds behind Coetze in the semi-final.

Coetze won the title in 2022 at the age of just 18 and he will want to add to his 2026 gold haul after winning the 50m and 200m backstroke finals already.

    Away we go...

    No Scott, no party?

The home fans who bought tickets for tonight will have been gutted to hear Duncan Scott did not make the 200m freestyle final.

Luckily for them, they can still watch the 15-time Commonwealth medallist in the 4x100m medley relay final later.

Plus Angharad Evans, Keanna McInnes and others will go for medals.

Bree Cronin was just 17-year-old when she was hit by a car outside Cardiff train station.

She sustained multiple leg fractures from the incident and her life ambitions were put on hold as she began her recovery.

Her dreams of combining an athletics career with the army dashed but fast forward five years and a blossoming para athletics career, she makes her Games debut tonight.

You can imagine Abertridwr near Caerphilly in south Wales will be going mad if she medals here tonight.

She celebrated her 23rd birthday this week, what a present a Commonwealth Games medal would be.

After the biblical rain we had at the athletics last night, it's positively tropical conditions by comparison tonight!

Far better conditions for all the athletes and the first final of the evening - the women's F42-44/F61-64 discus final - is about to begin.

England's Bebe Jackson and Ndidikama Okoh join Wales pair Funmi Oduwaiye and Bree Cronin as the home nations hopes in this one.

Perhaps the biggest talking point before this evening’s swimming action gets under way is that Scottish two-time Olympic gold medallist Duncan Scott failed to qualify for the men’s 200m freestyle final and will not be able to defend his Commonwealth Games title.

The remaining home nations will instead battle it out with four Australians, including Sam Short, taking on England’s James Guy and Thomas Dean, Welshman Matt Richards and Northern Ireland’s Jack McMillan.

Elsewhere, Oliver Morgan is among three English swimmers going for gold in the men’s 100m backstroke final but he will have to overcome South Africa’s strong favourite Pieter Coetze.

And Angharad Evans is going for another gold for Scotland in the women’s 200m breaststroke after the 23-year-old clinched victory in the 100m breaststroke on Sunday.

Welsh duo Funmi Oduwaiye and Bree Cronin could provide strong medal prospects for Wales tonight.

They are the top two ranked athletes in this women's F42-44/F61-64 discus final by personal bests, but let's see how they do tonight.

I spoke to their coach Josh Clark earlier today and asked him how he thought they'd do.

He replied, "I'll tell you after five rounds!"

They'll have six throws to earn a medal on their Commonwealth debuts tonight.

She hasn't lost a fight since she was eight-years-old.

"It's an honour to be on this stage at just 19," she said. "The ring is my happy place.

"When I'm in the ring everything goes quiet and for those nine minutes it's peaceful.

"I know I'm worthy of that gold medal, I've worked so hard in the gym. I'm going to bring it home and make everyone in Dorset and the south west proud."

The rain definitely not as bad as it was at the Scotstoun Stadium last night, but it's still damp here to say the least!

But huge smiles on Team Wales' Bree Cronin and Funmi Oduwaiye's faces as they make their way round the track to warm up for their final - the first competition of the evening.

Welsh flags being waved around, and "a great mood in camp" I've been told. Will we see Wales' medal tally of 11 - so far - increase in the next few minutes? Let's hope so!
