  1. Bad light stops play at CLSpublished at 17:08 BST 4 April

    Durham 335 & 53-2 v Kent 197

David Bedingham is getting his groove back too, he's punched one glorious back-foot shot through the covers for four and has just tickled Matt Milnes down the leg side for another to take the Durham lead up to 191.

27 runs off 20 balls with Ben McKinney, but that's the last action we'll see for now. A light reading has been taken, and the players are heading off.

Again, not sure that will be stumps, we had play until 7pm last night and there are still 32 overs left in theory today.

  2. Postpublished at 17:06 BST 4 April

    Glamorgan 283-7 v Yorks

Short and wide by Matthew Revis and Mason Crane clatters it square for four runs. He is 33 not out and Timm van der Gugten has 40.

5 wickets for Ollie Robinson. It's a big if but imagine him and Atkinson opening the bowling together with Tongue and Archer following up. That should be England's answer to Starc, Cummings and Hazelwood

    Charlie, Salisbury

IF remains the biggest word in the world of sport, but also one of the most fun.

  4. ESSEX 461-7 DECLAREDpublished at 17:05 BST 4 April

    Hants v Essex 461-7d

Umpires have decided the light has improved but Essex have called time on their first innings in any case with a view to having a decent crack at the Hampshire top order tonight.

Essex are gathered at the boundary edge and the openers are nowhere to be seen. There seems to be movement with the umpires looking again at the light which could have dipped again since the decision was made to restart.

All very confusing but Essex have declared. That much is certain.

  5. Bad light stops play at Edgbastonpublished at 17:03 BST 4 April

    Warwicks 330-2 v Surrey 328

The new ball has done for us.

The light is not good enough for a fresh cherry to be considered safe in the hands of the Surrey quicks, and after a discussion off the players head.

Dan Mousley's maiden first-class Warwickshire century gets him a warm reception on a Baltic Birmingham day as he heads back to the dressing room.

Not sure this is terminal for the day, but we'll be off for the foreseeable.

  6. Postpublished at 17:01 BST 4 April

    Warwicks 330-2 v Surrey 328

A rare loose shot from Dan Mousley who throws his hands at a wide one from James Taylor but gets away with it as it flies in the air through a gap and to the backward point rope.

Warwickshire lead by two, with eight wickets in hand, and the new ball is now available.

Mousley has 112* with Sam Hain on 80*.

  7. Bad light stops playpublished at 16:59 BST 4 April

    Som 347 v Notts 171-3

Out of nowhere, play is suspended.

The floodlights are on but it does not seem as dark as earlier or last evening.

There are a few shadows, but there is light clouds and blue skies over to the west behind the retirement flats.

Sad to see having applauded the umpires' willingness to play on earlier.

Somerset players do not leave the playing area immediately, they hang around the dug outs just beyond the boundary.

  8. Postpublished at 16:58 BST 4 April

    Durham 335 & 38-2 v Kent 197)

Ben McKinney is finding his feet, and also using them well.

Two lovely cover drives off slightly wide Glenton Stuurman deliveries flash to the rope in the space of three balls and then when Stuurman strays the other way onto leg stump from the next, he clips him with aplomb through mid-wicket for another boundary.

19 balls to get off the mark but he now has 16* from 26.

He reminds me a little of an opener who is stood about 20 yards from him at the moment, hands in pockets at first slip.

  9. Postpublished at 16:54 BST 4 April

    Warwicks 318-2 v Surrey 328

Feels like Surrey have been waiting for the new ball for about 40 overs.

They have two more to wait.

Sam Hain and Dan Mousley have added 164 for this third wicket so far. The deficit is down to 10. There are 18 overs remaining in the day.

  10. 50 stand for Glamorganpublished at 16:51 BST 4 April

    Glamorgan 276-7 v Yorks

Timm van der Gugten chops a ball from Logan van Beek away square for a single to post a 50 partnership with Mason Crane. Only two overs to come after this one before the 110 cut-off and Glamorgan need another 24 for a second batting point.

  11. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:51 BST 4 April

    Gay c Muyeye b Dudgeon 11 (Durham 335 & 26-1 v Kent 197)

    Big wicket for Kent.

Keith Dudgeon returns to the attack and swings one down the leg side and Emilio Gay follows it and glances straight into the hands of the lurking leg slip Tawanda Muyeye who parries the ball up before clutching it safely at the second attempt.

Gay fell into the Kent trap and it brings David Bedingham to the crease with Durham two down but 164 runs ahead.

  12. Bad light stops playpublished at 16:48 BST 4 April

    Hants v Essex 461-7

The umpires have taken a reading and waved to the groundstaff and that looks like it could be the end of the day's play.

Hants will not be too displeased with this as the last thing they would want is to be put in in gloomy conditions tonight.

Shane Snater (37) and Simon Harmer (71) were looking relatively untroubled and, presumably would have been happy to bat on.

The umpires are hanging around in the middle for the time being as the groundstaff join them. The covers are not going on for the moment.

  13. 100 runs

for Dan Mousleypublished at 16:47 BST 4 April

    Warwicks 312-2 v Surrey 328

The celebrations for this one. Wow.

Dan Mousley's maiden first class Warwickshire century is brought up with a wonderfully-timed sweep shot through a gap to the rope off Dan Lawrence.

Back-to-back boundaries to make it 17 in total and it only took Mousley 123 balls to get to three figures.

A brilliant knock, in helpful conditions. Lovely hug with Sam Hain at the end of the over too.

First for him, but will not be the last.

  14. Postpublished at 16:45 BST 4 April

    Durham 325 & 22-1 v Kent 197

Seven overs in and Ben McKinney and is yet to get off the mark after facing 17 deliveries.

    Test of character, this.

Emilio Gay has hogged the strike and has seven runs, and has played and missed at a couple.

The lead has crept to 156 but Kent are trying to turn the screw.

there we go. That's Ben McKinney. Glenton Stuurman is a little loose and McKinney slashes him through the covers to get off the mark with a boundary at the 19th attempt.

  15. Postpublished at 16:45 BST 4 April

    Leics 245 v Sussex 361 & 37-1

Worrying signs for Leicestershire as Daniel Hughes takes a step forward and pounds Ian Holland down the ground for four.

He stays in his crease for the next one but lofts it over mid-off for another boundary.

Hughes certainly looks in the mood at the moment. The lead is 153.

  16. 50 runs

for Dan Lateganpublished at 16:43 BST 4 April

    Derbys 625-8 dec v Worcs 81-1

What a moment for young Dan Lategan, who off drives Anuj Dal to reach a maiden first-class 50 from 72 balls.

His opening partnership with Jake Libby comes to an end in the next over, however, as Zak Chappell has Libby caught at first slip by Caleb Jewell for 24. Good delivery that one.

Given the gathering gloom, Essex best get a wiggle on and declare.

    Matt, Derby

138 overs into the game, 460-7, how many is enough?

  18. Postpublished at 16:42 BST 4 April

    Hants v Essex 460-7

Shane Snater, who has moved to 36, goes high over mid on to put Liam Dawson over the rope for six.

Three of the Hampshire bowlers – Codi Yusuf, Eddie Jack and now Dawson – have gone for 98 runs. There may not be too many of those hands going up for more with three figures beckoning.

It is, however, Jack who has drawn the short straw and will continue to Snater.

  19. 150 runs

stand for Warwickshirepublished at 16:40 BST 4 April

    Warwicks 302-2 v Surrey 328

74 for Sam Hain, 75 for Dan Mousley and it's a 150-stand for this third wicket in just 219 balls, and it's a second batting point for Warwickshire too

Mousley is into the 90s, Hain is 74*. They trail Surrey by a mere 26 runs. All going swimmingly for the Bears.

  20. 6 runs

Postpublished at 16:39 BST 4 April

    Leics 245 v Sussex 361 & 28-1

Daniel Hughes makes good use of the wind at Grace Road as he lofts Ben Green away for the first six of Sussex's second innings. The Aussie is 15 not out.
