  1. Bad light stops play in Cardiffpublished at 18:04 BST 4 April

    Glamorgan 302 v Yorks 1-0

Just 10 balls into Yorkshire's reply and the players are forced off by bad light at Sophia Gardens.

It's been a stop-start return to Division One cricket with just 122 overs possible so far.

We'll keep you updated - though the weather radar does not give much cause for optimism in South Wales.

  2. Postpublished at 18:04 BST 4 April

    Leics 245 v Sussex 361 & 114-2

It can't be easy for spinner Rehan Ahmed to bowl in a wind as strong as this - mind you, it can't be easy for the batters either as they try to combat the loop and flight.

James Coles drives out to deep cover but is kept to a single.

  3. Postpublished at 18:01 BST 4 April

    Somerset 347 v Notts 217-3

A quiter period here as the two right-handers between 50-80 navigate slightly darkening conditions, trying to get to the close not out.

Craig Overton keeps giving his all but cannot take a first wicket of the season.

Miggy Pretorius still the only successful Somerset bowler so far.

He is back on with his skipper as Jack Leach got nothing out of the pitch.

  4. Bad light stops play at CLSpublished at 18:00 BST 4 April

    Durham 335 & 83-2 v Kent 197

Another light reading... and it's not good news from a Durham perspective.

The players leave the field, and though there are 18 overs left on the slate, I'm not too sure we'll be back this time, given the amount of cloud to the west and the impact the lights are already having .

Ben McKinney and David Bedingham have added 57 runs in short order for this third wicket to take Durham's lead up to 221.

  5. Postpublished at 17:57 BST 4 April

    Glamorgan 302 v Yorks 1-0

Tidy opening over by Timm van der Gugten - they usually are - as Yorkshire begin their reply at Sophia Gardens. Adam Lyth, partnered as usual by Finlay Bean, is off the mark with a single.

A wonderful "you can not do that Ben Stokes" effort from Logan Van Beek in the Glamorgan game. Looking forward to seeing what Glam can do with the ball with some favourable conditions now!

  7. Postpublished at 17:54 BST 4 April

    Durham 335 & 76-2 v Kent 197

Kent are trying to keep their heads up as the Durham lead swells to 214.

David Bedingham clips a shorter ball from Grant Stewart through mid-wicket for a boundary to bring up the 50-stand for this third wicket from just 69 balls.

Still 19 overs remaining in the day, though there are still some dark clouds about.

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:54 BST 4 April

    Weatherley c Pepper b Cook 1 (Hants 5-2 v Essex 461-7d)

It has been a nervy start against predictably disciplined line and length from the Essex duo of Jamie Porter and Sam Cook and the latter has a second as Joe Weatherley nicks it.

Tom Prest had just produced the first positive shot in the fifth over, leaning into a cover drive off Porter to post the first boundary.

But the second opener has now gone and Hants are in a spot of bother.

Jake Lehmann, Australian domestic player of the year, takes his Hampshire bow and there is plenty riding on his shoulders already.

  9. 50 runs

for Daniel Hughespublished at 17:52 BST 4 April

    Leics 245 v Sussex 361 & 97-2

Daniel Hughes unceremoniously belts an overpitched ball from Ian Holland through mid-off for four and goes to his 50 from 77 faced. Sussex now 213 to the good with another 10 overs to come.

  10. Close of play at Edgbastonpublished at 17:50 BST 4 April

    Warwicks 330-2 v Surrey 328

Real shame. Bad light has ended the Bears' fun prematurely

Dan Mousley's maiden first class century for Warwickshire has been the highlight of a pretty stellar day for Warwickshire.

He has 112* with Sam Hain on 80* after a stand of 178 from 260 balls as Surrey have toiled in the field and now find themselves two runs in arrears with eight wickets still to find.

Alex Davies (58) and Rob Yates (70) got the ball rolling but Surrey will return in the morning with a new ball in hand and trying to wrestle back some momentum.

  11. Postpublished at 17:48 BST 4 April

    Hants 1-1 v Essex 461-7d

Hants are off the mark with a single off an edge through the slip cordon two balls into the fifth over.

It has been tight from Sam Cook and Jamie Porter who have kept a secure lid on matters.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:46 BST 4 April

    Crane c Revis b Bess 51 (Glamorgan 302 v Yorks)

Glamorgan's first innings finally comes to an end as Mason Crane swipes a ball from Dom Bess towards the mid-wicket boundary but doesn't get the distance and Matthew Revis snaffles the catch.

  13. dropped catch

David Bedingham dropped on 22published at 17:46 BST 4 April

    Durham 335 & 70-2 v Kent 197

    Hard luck on Grant Stewart.

David Bedingham gets a leading edge and cracks the ball back down the track at Grant Stewart, who manages to get two hands towards the ball in his follow-through but can't hold on and ends up face down on the deck,

Tough, touch chance, but it counts. How Kent would have loved to break this partnership.

  14. Division Two updatepublished at 17:45 BST 4 April

They are off for bad light at Derby where Worcestershire are 113-2, with Dan Lategan 77 not out. Derbyshire declared on 625-8 earlier in the day and there are 13 more overs scheduled.

Play is continuing at Lord's and Gloucestershire are 67-3 in the 35th over against Middlesex, with Miles Hammond now 38 not out.

  15. 50 runs

50 for Haynespublished at 17:44 BST 4 April

    Som 347 v Notts 208-3

76 balls it took, including eight fours for Jack Haynes.

A loosener from Craig Overton, his first ball from the Pavilion End, allows him to easily cut for four to get there.

Still Lyndon James and a South African World Test Champion to come in from the middle-order for Notts too by the way...ominous for Somerset against the Champions on a very good April batting wicket.

  16. Postpublished at 17:41 BST 4 April

    Durham 325 & 70-2 v Kent 197

David Bedingham looks like the David Bedingham of old once again.

it's not a bad ball from Matt Milnes but Bedingham gets up on his toes and punches away beautifully to the cover-point boundary.

Kent have stemmed the flow a little but the partnership with Ben McKinney is worth 44 in 56 balls.

  17. 200 runs

200 for Nottspublished at 17:39 BST 4 April

    Som 347 v Notts 202-3

An expensive over there from Jake Ball against his former employees, three boundaries in the over.

Just 50 away from their first batting bonus point now.

And Jack Haynes only five from a personal 50.

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:39 BST 4 April

    Gorvin c van Beek b Hill 1 (Glamorgan 302-9 v Yorks)

    Sensational.

After Mason Crane picks up two off George Hill to bring up his third first-class fifty, Andy Gorvin tries to pull a bouncer later in the over and Logan van Beek takes a great catch at long leg.

  19. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:38 BST 4 April

    Clark c Patel b Scriven 16 (Leics 245 v Sussex 361 & 78-2)

Tom Clark is angry with himself and punches the back of his bat as he spars at a wide one from Tom Scriven and Rishi Patel - this time - makes no mistake with the slip catch.

Poor shot from the first-innings centurion and his departure brings James Coles to the middle with Sussex 194 ahead and 14 more overs scheduled today.

  20. Postpublished at 17:38 BST 4 April

    Durham 325 & 65-2 v Kent 197

Grant Stewart is thrown the ball for the first time in this second innings and is on the money from ball one - perhaps by way of apology for his unnecessary departure with the bat.

Ben McKinney is on strike and is content to block out a maiden over, having to jab the bat down on one which kept very low from the final delivery.

    Durham lead by 203.
