Liverpool's tricky early run of fixtures continues, with unbeaten Chelsea certain to be fired up for this one after dropping points for the first time this season in last Sunday's 2-2 with Swansea.

Liverpool have already played last season's top three, putting four goals past both Arsenal and Leicester and drawing at Tottenham.

Unlike certain other encounters between these sides in recent times, there's no league title or place in the Champions League final at stake, but the game will be no less intense for that.

Liverpool were 3-1 winners in the corresponding fixture last season, which was also their first league win under Jurgen Klopp. I'm expecting a close, high-octane encounter to start the weekend.

David Luiz will make his first start for Chelsea since rejoining the club in a £34m switch from Paris Saint-Germain.

He replaces captain John Terry, who suffered an ankle ligament injury against Swansea last weekend.

Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren is expected to return against Chelsea after missing Saturday's 4-1 win over Leicester because of a bruised eye.

There could be a recall for Philippe Coutinho, who was rested for that game after a long flight from Brazil.

It's a sad day. I've known David Weir for so long and I'm feeling a bit emotional.

Sport is a bit cruel. When you are winning it is amazing but when you lose, it is miserable when you come off the track and so hard to get your head back.

In 2012 Dave didn't always make great decisions when he was racing but I think the others were a bit afraid of him. However, he has lost that invincibility. 

He needs to go home, spend time with his family and he certainly has a future in marathon racing and hopefully we will see him beyond the London Marathon.

Oh no, disaster for the GB T53/54 4x400m team of Richard Chiassaro, Nathan Maguire, Moatez Jomni and David Weir - they come second, but it's not one of the four quickest times across the heats and they're out!

China win it in a world record time of three minutes 4.77 seconds.

Weir, a four-time gold medallist at London 2012, ends his track racing career without a medal in Rio.

He still has the marathon to come though.

GB's men are on the line for the heats of the 4x400m T53/54 relay, including David Weir - this is his last chance for a medal on the track in Rio.

She was agonisingly close to becoming Britain's first triple Paralympic champion at the Rio Games, but Sophie Wells has to settle for freestyle dressage silver.

The 36-year-old was pipped to gold by just 0.150 marks by London 2012's double Paralympic champion Michele George of Belgium.

"There isn't anything more I could have done," Wells tells me on BBC Radio 5 Live.

"There was a mistake early in the routine but other than that it was everything I could have hoped for. Yes, some will say it was a risk coming in with a new routine, but we were happy with it and ready for competition and as a whole I have to be so happy with how the event has gone.

"Obviously you want freestyle gold, but to win the individual test gold was special and to win win the team as well when we're under so much pressure has made it a fantastic experience."

Paul Blake admitted that he "mucked up his race plan a bit" but it was all worth it as he claimed ParalympicsGB's 50th gold medal in Rio with success in the T36 400m.

"It's great to add to the team collection - it still hasn't sunk in," the 26-year-old, who won silver at London 2012, told BBC Radio 5 Live.

"I've been waiting and seeing everyone else race so well, but it is worth the wait.

"It's a great confidence boost so now I can rest up and get ready for the 800m on Saturday."

Manchester City may have thrashed Borussia Monchengladbach 4-0 on Wednesday, that hasn't stopped Pep Guardiola targeting three of their players.

Well, that's what Bild are reporting,, external after one of their journalists overheard Guardiola telling Gladbach sporting director Max Eberl that he was interested in Thorgan Hazard, Andreas Christensen and Mahmoud Dahoud.

Hazard is the 23-year-old brother of Eden, the Chelsea forward, while Christensen also has a Chelsea connection - he is one of the club's myriad of on-loan youngsters scattered around Europe. 

Mahmoud Dahoud is a Syria-born 20-year-old, who has represented Germany at under-21 level.

In 2013, snooker's former world number five Stephen Lee was found guilty of seven match-fixing offences.
