    McIlroy -11, Burns -9 (11)

The 12th is where Rory McIlroy caught fire yesterday, reeling off six birdies in seven to finish in spectacular style.

But he looks a shadow of that player at the moment. He pulls another one and he's scrapping for par at the par-three.

He's really feeling the pressure now.

  2. 'The margins are small' - Schefflerpublished at 22:31 BST 11 April

    Scheffler -7 (65)

Scottie Scheffler, speaking after a seven-under 65 put him back in contention: "I felt like I was very sharp with the irons. Got it up there. Gave myself a lot of opportunities. I felt like I took advantage of those on the front nine, and then back nine I did a lot of good things. Was really, really close to seeing a lot go in.

"It wasn't maybe that bad, but it definitely could have been lower. But like I said, I did what I needed to do. Went out and executed to give myself some opportunities, and more of that tomorrow, and I think I'll be in a good spot.

"The greens here are challenging. The margins are small. I mean, I rolled it really nice today.

"I'd be interested to see what the stats are. I'm sure they're still positive, but when you have that many birdie looks, I think sometimes you wish they could all go in."

  3. Double bogey for Rorypublished at 22:29 BST 11 April

Huge putt for Rory McIlroy. A tiddler down the hill for a bogey, putting through his shadow. He misses! That's a double bogey. Deary me.

Sam Burns played a corker in from the fairway and finally ends his run of pars with a three. That's how you play that hole right there.

  4. Day hits four in a row!published at 22:27 BST 11 April

    Day -9 (15)

Jason Day taps in a short one on the 15th green to make it four birdies in a row after landing it over the water in two then playing a lovely chip up from a tricky spot.

The Australian is on the charge!

  5. Fleetwood fadingpublished at 22:27 BST 11 April

    Lowry -8, Fleetwood -3 (12)

Shane Lowry misses left with his birdie attempt on the 12th. Everyone has pretty much missed that way today.

Tommy Fleetwood's iron lands way off the back in the pines and it's another shot frittered away when he can't find the green with his second. His hopes of being in contention on Sunday are fading badly.

  6. Postpublished at 22:26 BST 11 April

    McIlroy -13, Burns -8 (10)

McIlroy takes his drop and must pitch back over the water. He has next to no green to work with. This is seriously tough.

He plays a beauty. It comes in low with a bit of check and he'll have a speedy six-footer for a bogey.

    Big moment in the tournament.

  7. Missed putt by Rose....again!published at 22:22 BST 11 April

    Reed -6, Rose -7 (11)

Brilliant approach shot again from Justin Rose but again the putter is off as he misses his chance for a three on 11. This putter of his may be on its final warning soon.

Patrick Reed wasn't anywhere near as good with his approach but after a decent putt down a slippery slope he also sticks a four down on the card.

  8. Postpublished at 22:22 BST 11 April

    Young -10 (15)

Cameron Young elects not to go to the drop zone. He'll be playing back from on the fairway.

Is that wise? We shall soon find out...here it comes. Ah that's a way better result and he runs into three feet to potentially limit the damage to just one shot.

Indeed it does only cost him a single stroke. A potentially massive moment?

  9. McIlroy hooks into the water on 11published at 22:21 BST 11 April

    McIlroy -13, Burns -8 (10)

McIlroy loses another drive right, this time at the 11th. His ball kicks back out on to the fairway but he has 222 yards in.

He's wet! That was an ugly hook and he's in all sorts of bother now.

  10. 'Big mistake from Young'published at 22:19 BST 11 April

    Young -11 (14)

    Trish Johnson
Former Europe Solheim Cup player on BBC Radio 5 Live

[Cameron Young] was a yard off being perfect because its first bounce would have skidded up towards and left him short, probably a ten-footer.

He could not afford to be short there - that’s a big mistake.

  11. Young finds water on 15published at 22:19 BST 11 April

    Young -11 (14)

Is there where Cameron Young's Masters challenge goes west.

The American can only clip his second forward to leave a wedge over the pond but there's nowhere near enough gas on that as he misses his landing spot by 10 yards or so.

Instead of working it's way down to the hole his ball checks on the front edge of the green before trickling backwards into the drink.

  12. Lowry slips uppublished at 22:13 BST 11 April

    Lowry -8, Fleetwood -4 (11)

Shane Lowry takes a detour into the trees on the 11th. It's just a case of taking your medicine from there and getting back in play.

But it also costs him a shot when his third drifts off to the right, leaving an incredibly difficult putt from 50 feet.

  13. First bogey today for Lipublished at 22:10 BST 11 April

    Li -8 (13)

Li Haotong makes a bit of a mess of the 13th as he goes for the green in two but only finds Rae's Creek - and his chipped fourth after a drop skips by the hole leaving a tester for par.

He can't find the hole though as he makes his first bogey of the day.

  14. Postpublished at 22:10 BST 11 April

    Young -11 (14)

Cameron Young drifts left off the 15th tee. Will he even have a shot at the green from there?

It's Saturday at the Masters and the pressure is building.

  15. McIlroy moves two clearpublished at 22:09 BST 11 April

    McIlroy -13, Burns -8 (10)

It's a birdie for Rory McIlroy at the 10th!

He finally moves under par for the round and is two clear of Cameron Young.

Sam Burns' birdie try fades to the left and it's yet another par for the American.

  16. Postpublished at 22:07 BST 11 April

    McIlroy -12, Burns -8 (9)

With the relentless Cameron Young breathing down his neck, Rory McIlroy needs to get a move on.

But he'll like that one! From 159 yards on the fairway at 10, he knocks a firm wedge to around six feet. An uphill putt for a birdie. Boy does he need it.

Sam Burns will also have a makeable look at a three to snap his streak of seven straight pars.

  17. Bogey for Reedpublished at 22:06 BST 11 April

    Reed -6, Rose -7 (10)

Patrick Reed leaves himself with an awkward bunker shot on 10 with a half plugged lie as well, and all he can do is pop it out onto the green leaving a long putt for par.

He can't convert though so a third bogey of the day leaves Reed right back where he started it on six under.

  18. Young closes in on McIlroypublished at 22:05 BST 11 April

Could Cameron Young become the third straight Players champion to win the Masters?

He swishes into two feet on the 14th and then takes his time before burying his putt into the cup for yet another birdie.

  19. Birdie hat-trick for Daypublished at 22:01 BST 11 April

    Day -8 (14)

Jason Day has made a big push up the leaderboard thanks to a trio of birdies on the 12th, 13th, and 14th which moves him onto eight under for the tournament and bang in contention.

Day finished second here on his debut in 2011 and has had some tidy finishes so obviously likes Augusta National, and he's up there again in the thick of things.

  20. Young moves into secondpublished at 22:01 BST 11 April

    Young -10 (13)

Cameron Young's trajectory continues to trend upwards.

The American reaches the par-five 13th in two and while he his eagle putt comes up short it is less than a bathroom-bin-lid width away from the pin to give him an easy birdie.

He is firing on all cylinders and now six under for today. Could the course record be under threat?
