    Clark -2 (14)

US Open champion Wyndham Clark was three over through four holes this morning, but has played superbly since then.

Three straight birdies got him back to level par, and although there was a bogey on his 11th hole of the day, he has birdied his past three holes to move to two under.

    McIlroy -3, MacIntyre -2, Gotterup -1 (14)

On the 15th hole for this group, Rory McIlroy and Bob MacIntyre find the fairway, while Chris Gotterup is once again in a dangerous position.

His ball is about two revolutions from dropping into a bunker, where he would likely have a better chance. It's sat up on the lip of the bunker with some thick grass to contend with.

He has to settle for punching it back out into the fairway. He's done well to even get it out of there, in truth.

MacIntyre and McIlroy both find the green with their approaches. Gotterup follows them with his third shot, just landing a few feet under the hole.

    M. W. Lee -4 (17)

Three under on his second nine of the day, Min Woo Lee had moved into a share of the lead, but a messy couple of shots result in a bogey at the eighth and he drops back.

  5. Postpublished at 12:26 BST 9 July

    Cantlay -5 (16)

Patrick Cantlay pars the seventh and stays tied for the lead at five under.

Tom Kim is in the clubhouse with a 65 - can the American beat that with two holes to play?

  6. Postpublished at 12:23 BST 9 July

    McIlroy -3, MacIntyre -2, Gotterup -1 (14)

No birdies from any of the three despite the decent tee shots.

A look of agony from Bob MacIntyre as his attempt somehow stays out of the hole.

Three pars in the end at the 14th, which is currently playing as the second easiest hole on the course.

Here comes leader Bernd Wiesberger on his penultimate hole, the eighth.

Just shy of the green in two, he opts for putter but races it a good six feet past. Can he avoid a first dropped shot? He cannot! His par putt takes a chunk of the hole but lips out.

Playing partner Padraig Harrington is having a tough old day and also spills a shot. Perhaps fatigue a factor after the Irishman's US Senior Open win last weekend.

  8. Postpublished at 12:17 BST 9 July

    McIlroy -3, MacIntyre -2, Gotterup -1 (13)

The 14th for this group, the fifth on the traditional routing of the course, is a 150-yard par three.

    Sounds easy, right?

With the wind whirling and a steep drop from tee to green, it's a tricky hole.

All three tee shots are relatively safe, with Bob MacIntyre's the closest at nine feet away.

  10. Biridies for MacIntyre and Gotteruppublished at 12:08 BST 9 July

    McIlroy -3, MacIntyre -2, Gotterup -1 (13)

Bob MacIntyre gives the large following of fans what they were after, as the home favourite watches his putt drop dead centre of the cup for a birdie.

Chris Gotterup, who was just four feet away, follows him in for another, taking him under par for the first time today.

Rory McIlroy pulls his putt and has to settle for a par, though.

    Penge E, Wallace E, Jamieson -2 (17)

Scott Jamieson's momentum has stalled on the back nine but the Scot makes a lovely up and down from beyond the eighth green to save par and remain two under.

Playing partners Marco Penge - the joint runner-up last year - and Matt Wallace both have decent looks at birdie but neither can convert.

  12. Postpublished at 12:05 BST 9 July

    McIlroy -3, MacIntyre -1, Gotterup E (12)

Two shots find the fairway on the third hole, the 13th for this group, but Rory McIlroy is in the shorter rough down the left.

All three approaches find the green, with McIlroy the furthest away at 13 feet.

  13. Postpublished at 11:54 BST 9 July

    Wiesberger -6 (15)

Bernd Wiesberger has had four straight pars, but will hope to end that streak on the profitable par-five seventh.

The early leader finds the fairway off the tee and can attack from there.

However, he finds a greenside bunker and has to make do with another par.

    Genesis buggy

How about this for a set of wheels. It's the fanciest golf buggy I've ever seen.

It's a prototype, apparently, from tournament sponsors Genesis and not just for show, it'll be used to ferry players around throughout the event.

  15. Postpublished at 11:51 BST 9 July

    McIlroy -3, MacIntyre -1, Gotterup E (12)

The par-three third is next for the trio, 201 yards in length.

All three find the green, with Rory McIlroy the second closest to the pin so far today, just three feet away, but somehow misses his birdie putt.

Bob MacIntyre's tee shot drops 40 or so feet from the pin, and he can't get his birdie attempt to drop, but sinks the par putt.

Chris Gotterup, likewise, walks off with a par.

  16. Postpublished at 11:42 BST 9 July

    McIlroy -3, MacIntyre -1, Gotterup E (11)

Bob MacIntyre scrambles out of the bunker, but his ball races past the hole, coming to rest 20 feet from the hole.

From an even more perilous position, Chris Gotterup somehow dinks it to four feet and saves his par. Heroic stuff.

MacIntyre ultimately walks off with a bogey, while McIlroy takes an under-the-radar par.

  17. Trouble for marquee triopublished at 11:36 BST 9 July

    McIlroy -3, MacIntyre -2, Gotterup E (10)

Rory McIlroy's tee shot almost snookers him, with a tree just 10 or so yards in front of him.

Ever the artist, his arms are bent and curving on his follow-through as he attempts to turn his ball around a corner... and succeeds.

A remarkable approach lands just right of the green on the fringe.

Bob MacIntyre's second from the fairway winds up right up on the lip of a nasty greenside bunker.

Chris Gotterup has escaped the bunker but may prefer to be in the sand, as he's perched atop the lip and standing in knee-high grass.

  18. Postpublished at 11:34 BST 9 July

    Kim -5 (16)

Tom Kim takes advantage of the par-five seventh.

Two shots to get on the putting surface and two putts secure a birdie that move him up to joint-second in the standings.

  19. Postpublished at 11:26 BST 9 July

    Lee -5 (13)

Min Woo Lee, the winner here five years ago, moves into joint second alongside Patrick Cantlay.

The Aussie makes it three birdies in four holes since the turn by draining an 18-footer on the fourth. Let him cook.

Bernd Wiesberger remains the frontrunner on six under.

A huge gallery is following the marquee group of Bob MacIntyre, Rory McIlroy, and defending champion Chris Gotterup.

And McIlroy is now on a charge with an eagle at their tenth hole of the day to move to three under.

MacIntyre and Gotterup managed to grab birdies at the par five to move to two under and level par, respectively.
