  1. When was the last play-off?

    The most recent play-off we had at the Women's Open was in 2022 at Muirfield.

    It took four extra holes but South Africa's Ashleigh Buhai eventually beat out Chun In-gee of South Korea.

    We'll know soon enough if another is required.

  2. Pars for Noh & Henseleit

    Yealimi Noh and Esther Henseleit both tap in for birdie on the last-but-one hole.

    They have one more hole. One more chance to make a birdie.

    Otherwise the title is Shiho Kuwaki's.

    No birdie for Esther Henseleit on the 17th after a lengthy putt comes up a few feet short.

    Yealimi Noh is much closer to the pin, but she too is unable to sink a birdie putt and lurches forward in frustration.

    Not to be for Jeeno Thitikul of Thailand, as she polishes up at the 18th for a 12th top-10 finish at a major championship.

    As things stands, she'll be fourth alongside Nelly Korda at -2, perhaps fitting for the world's number two and number one respectively to finish together.

  5. Noh -4, Henseleit -4 (16)

    Esther Henseleit splits the fairway with a pretty solid drive on the penultimate hole.

    Yealimi Noh is a little further in front after a 261-yard drive.

    One of these two need a birdie across the next two holes to force a play-off.

    This is no time to be left wondering, could I have gone for it to win the Women's Open.

  7. Henseleit bogeys 16th

    Shiho Kuwaki is now a shot clear in the clubhouse after Esther Henseleit bogeys the 16th.

    Barely a flicker of emotion from the German after she misses a par putt from about six feet.

    Yealimi Noh, meanwhile, slides in for par.

    Both these players at four under.

  8. Ryu finishes fourth

    A word for Haeran Ryu as she finishes up at -2 for her tournament.

    That means she will not be taking a third straight major title, but it's been another fine performance for the South Korean. She'll finish in a share of fourth.

  9. Kuwaki closes at five under par

    Well, the target has been set.

    Shiho Kuwaki is unable to convert her birdie opportunity but she's safely in for par.

    Five under leads in the clubhouse.

    And Nelly Korda can finally pack her bags and head home.

    Plenty of Japanese fans around the 18th green as co-leader Shiho Kuwaki strides after her ball.

    She has set up a birdie opportunity from about 25 feet to move to -6 for the tournament and pile the pressure on those still out there.

    It looks like it's going to be a battle between Yealimi Noh, Esther Henseleit and Shiho Kuwaki.

    That ain't a bad result at all.

    Lottie Woad has been there or thereabouts this week but hasn't been able to kick on.

    She's had some good tee-to-green golf but has not been able to adapt to the greens here at Royal Lytham.

    She looks disappointed and she's every right to be.

  14. No Woad to glory this time

    Lottie Woad finishes with a par on the 18th to shoot 73 in her final round.

    A respectable one-under for the tournament.

    However, the 22-year-old Englishwoman's bid to win her first major continues.

  15. Ryu -2, Kuwaki -5 (17)

    One final tee shot for Shiho Kuwaki - for now at least.

    She thumps it down the 18th fairway and it runs into the semi rough down the right side.

    Safe enough.

  16. Noh -4, Henseleit -5 (15)

    Esther Henseleit finds the rough with her tee shot at the 16th while playing partner Yealimi Noh is right down the middle of the fairway.

  17. Par for Kuwaki

    Ryu -2, Kuwaki -5 (17)

    It's actually a bit longer than 15 feet for Shiho Kuwaki. More like 22 feet but she's given it a cracking roll, only for it dribble slightly past.

    She'll tap in for par and head to the final hole tied for the lead.

    Haeran Ryu drops a shot though - and at three shots back, that could be her done.

  18. Henseleit grabs a share of lead

    Esther Henseleit has been quietly going about her business and all of a sudden finds herself with a share of the lead.

    The German taps in for her third birdie on the back nine at the 15th.

    It's up for grabs now at Royal Lytham & St Annes.

  19. 'Enough birdies to win'

    I think in some respects it will [hurt more than five runners-up finishes]. She had another four birdies today, a horrible seventh at the par five...

    I don't know if she is someone who will sit and pick apart what's happened this week but I think someone in her entourage should - there's a lot of learnings to be taken.

    We know she plays by instinct, but she's had enough birdies to win this week.

  20. Hull finishes one under

    Charley Hull is unable to squeeze in a birdie putt at the last.

    She finishes with a fourth-round of 72 to finish one under for the tournament.

    A generous applause from those clustered round the green at the final hole.
