The laps are ticking down and Lewis Hamilton is now 8.9 seconds ahead of his old Mercede team-mate George Russell. Carlo Santi is cheerleading his driver once again, telling Hamilton this stint is going well.
Lando Norris is in fourth place and after two grands prix with no points, this will be a much-needed boost. The world champion is following Kimi Antonelli for the final podium place, but he's not close enough yet to the Mercedes to mount an attack.

Kimi Antonelli has got his mirrors full of Lando Norris but his eyes forward on George Russell. His engineer was saying the battle is going to be between Lando Norris. I think now for him, it is a battle for second place.
Unfortunately for Lewis Hamilton, there are no Kardashians at the Barcelona circuit to cheer him on.
George Russell can't find away to cut down the advantage Hamilton's has built for himself, so 7.8 seconds remains the gap that separates first and second.

Alex Albon is celebrating a record 96th start for Williams today but his race has been anything put memorable. "Alex came in to the pits to fix a loose camera. The team has since made changes to his car and he will return to the Grand Prix as a testing session to gather more data," says the team.

Lewis absolutely putting the hammer down on this out lap. Really, really played perfectly into Ferraris hands. You couldn't time it better. It was a little bit of luck but sometimes you have to get a little bit of luck in racing, it is motorsport after all.

The virtual safety car has ended and Lewis Hamilton is leading the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix from the Mercedes of polesitter George Russell and Kimi Antonelli.
The seven-time world champion is now on fresh hard tyres and is three seconds ahead of Russell.
