Lap 18/58
Lando Norris makes his first pass on the Mercedes of Kimi Antonelli to take eighth place.
Next up, old McLaren buddy Carlos Sainz. No danger for that overtake. The Spaniard doesn't fight it and Norris is now up to seventh after his pit stop.

Lap 17/58
Championship leader Lando Norris is safely in and out on a set of the hard compound. The Briton is now in ninth place but a DRS train is choo-chooing just ahead of him. Charles Leclerc also pitted and is now with Norris in the long line of traffic.

Finlay in West Lothian: I have all my faith in Norris to pull it off, all he needs to do is just drive cleanly and not let the pressure get to him and that should be that.
Chris in Liverpool: One mistake from Lando and the dream is over. Critical he keeps focused. He has it all to lose here

Lap 15/58
George Russell fancies an undercut on Charles Leclerc for that fourth spot. Mercedes bring in the Briton - it's a little bit of a slow stop - and he comes back out in 14th place, just ahead of his old Silver Arrows team-mate Lewis Hamilton.
Russell now has rush hour traffic to contend with.
Graining is the word being used on the team radio at the moment as we reach lap 13 of this season finale. Lando Norris, like race leader Max Verstappen, is starting to notice his tyres giving up the ghost slightly. Luckily for Norris, Charles Leclerc has dropped back a bit after his early push for a podium spot.

David in London: Can’t believe McLaren rather keep on playing by their rules than maximising their chances of securing both titles. Should have asked Oscar to stay in third and play defence for Norris. Oscar had his chance, he’s in no position to win the championship.
Oscar Piastri needs a lot to happen in this race in order for him to swipe the trophy away from either Lando Norris and Max Verstappen but the Australian is in the podium places and can finish on a high.
Oliver Bearman and Liam Lawson, meanwhile, have been noted by the stewards for driving erratically. Haas rookie Bearman is in 12th, Racing Bulls' Lawson is running in 11th.
Lando Norris has received some good news from his engineer: his tyres are looking better than Max Verstappen's. Both are on the mediums, with Oscar Piastri, who passed Norris on the opening lap to take second, on a different route to glory on the hard compound.
