Amad Diallo just passing the ball straight out of play sums this game up.

Either through players losing their footing, or mis-controlling the ball, or taking the wrong option, or poor execution, it feels like the contest as not got any rhythm.

Manchester United have not been able to exert consistent pressure around the Aston Villa box and the visitors are not countering very effectively.

I hope it gets better.

One goal might be enough to settle this.

Both sides have looked most likely to score from long throws so far. Chris Richards is chucking them in for Palace, Ethan Ampadu for Leeds.

This is not the match to show anyone questioning the quality of football in the Premier League this season.

Jaka Bijol is struggling. He's on his way down with Palace on the attack, so he decides to stick an arm out and grab the ball.

A poor booking to pick up.

Sander Berge loses the ball to Elliot Anderson in the middle. Anderson drives towards the box and is hauled down by about three Fulham players.

It's Berge who gets the card.

A nice passage of play for Aston Villa ends with Leny Yoro making a headed clearance from Lucas Digne's cross.

United made a decent start but they've dropped off and it's Villa who have the momentum right now.

Chris Richards sends the long throw into the box. Jefferson Lerma flicks it on well but Karl Darlow is alive to it.

Good stuff.

Both teams are struggling to create anything of substance here. Leeds have seen plenty of the ball but it's pretty tame stuff.

No team has really taken a foothold in the game, there have been a couple of chances, Elliot Anderson for Nottingham Forest and Calvin Bassey for Fulham, but other than that, it's been quite a safe game.

Bryan Mbeumo is taking up different positions to what Benjamin Sesko would. The cross from Matheus Cunha and Diogo Dalot, Sesko would definitely have got on the end of it.

That's three times now Aston Villa have tried to launch counter attacks with long balls deep into the Manchester United half.

The tactic hasn't worked yet but Unai Emery must think he has found a weakness in the home defence his side can exploit.

Villa have registered a couple of attempts so far - both off target.

A Emiliano Buendía header followed by a shot from John McGinn outside the box which dropped well wide.

Buendía has been lively.

A good old tug of the shirt from Gabriel Gudmundsson on Brennan Johnson leads to a yellow card.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin gets his head to the corner and Walter Benitez gathers.

But what the keeper might not have known is how close he was to stepping back over his goalline.

You've got to say Leeds are having the better of it so far as they win their first corner of the game.

It was a difficult one for Amad Diallo as there was no pace on it. He did what he could and he did well. It was going in, but Emiliano Martínez, reaching down to his right pushed it away.

This game is like basketball - there is nothing happening in midfield!
