Oxford's lead did not last long at all!

Leo Scienza whips in a delicious free-kick from the touchline and Taylor Harwood-Bellis rises highest to find the corner with a towering header from 12 yards.

    Saints deservedly level.

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Blackburn

Classic away performance from Blackburn so far. Let Boro have the ball and tire themselves out. They have no cutting edge. The big KO is coming and the natives are sensing it.

  3. CLOSE!published at 15:29 GMT 26 December 2025

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Blackburn

Blackburn are certainly giving as good as they are getting on Teesside.

Todd Cantwell drills a shot into the side netting and minutes later, the recalled Ryan Hedges is just crowded out at the near post.

While their defenders are showing their mettle, throwing their bodies in the way of shots from Tommy Conway and Hayden Hackney.

    Portsmouth 0-0 QPR

What Portsmouth fans wouldn't give for Colby Bishop to end his scoring drought - and it nearly happened just now.

Bishop gets up to meet a corner with a header that bounces down and crashes against Ben Hamer's left-hand post.

Rangers survive, but they'll need to offer a bit more than they have done so far.

What a goal by Tyler Goodrham!

In the build-up he won Oxford a corner and was pumping up the home crowd, he took that strike really well on the half-volley

"He's one of our own" chant the Oxford fans

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Blackburn

    Kevin Gallacher
Former Blackburn striker on BBC Radio Lancashire

We need to start being a bit more dominant and exploiting them, we've looked good but we've only had one shot on goal.

  7. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 15:24 GMT 26 December 2025

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Blackburn

Another problem for Middlesbrough at centre-half as Alfie Jones has to go off with an injury.

George Edmundson is on in his place.

Boro can't seem to get a settled partnership going in that position with those two and Dael Fry all missing at various stages.

    Tyler Goodrham (23 mins)

Against the run of play, Oxford United strike first!

After a corner is only partially cleared, the ball drops to Tyler Goodrham who hits a stunning strike from the edge of the box into the corner - it's a pure, clean hit which Gavin Bazunu can only get a hand to before it finds its way in.

Great start for Craig Short, who is in his first game in charge of United as caretaker boss.

  9. goal

GOAL: West Brom 0-2 Bristol Citypublished at 15:23 GMT 26 December 2025

    Ross McCrorie (22 mins)

This is going very nicely for Bristol City!

Scott Twine lays off a Neto Borges cross to Ross McCrorie and the Scotsman clips home his second goal of the season.

West Brom's home record has been keeping them afloat... but they've got it all to do.

  10. goal

    Svante Ingelsson (21 mins)

An early goal at Hillsborough and for once this season, it is for the home side!

The definition of route one about this as Pierce Charles launches one up field from just outside his area.

Then what's that old adage about letting the ball bounce?

Well, Tigers defenders do exactly that and it's what Svante Ingelsson was hoping for as he pounces on it to beat Ivor Pandur from just inside the box.

  11. Postpublished at 15:22 GMT 26 December 2025

    Oxford United 0-0 Southampton

Southampton have had a lot of possession but haven't been able to convert one of their chances yet.

From a short corner, they work the ball to the byline but when it comes back to Finn Azaz, the Irishman's strike is wayward and hits his effort into the car park behind the goal at the Kassam.

    Oxford 0-0 Southampton

    Dan George
    BBC Sport at the Kassam

Southampton have been the dominant side after 15 minutes here in Oxford.

They work the ball around nicely, recycling possession as they build with attacks towards the U's goal.

Leo Scienza had a shout for a penalty waved away but aside from that we haven't really had much action in front of goal from either side.

    It is absolutely freezing!

    Coventry 0-0 Swansea

More possession so far from Swansea at the CBS Arena in these early stages. That has not happened too often with the Sky Blues this season.

Vitor Matos' Swans being faithful to that passing game we've come to associate from them over the last two decades.

  14. 'Coventry can't afford an overload in midfield'published at 15:18 GMT 26 December 2025

    Coventry 0-0 Swansea

    Steve Ogrizovic
Ex-Coventry City goalkeeper on BBC CWR

Coventry can't afford an overload in midfield because Swansea can slide a ball through the defence especially when the back line is so high up.

Swansea are nice on the ball, they get the full-backs up to overload - they've got pace and skill out wide.

  15. YELLOW CARDpublished at 15:17 GMT 26 December 2025

    Stoke 0-0 Preston

Preston defender Pol Valentin is booked for hauling down Sorba Thomas on the left edge of the box following a quick counter-attack by the hosts.

The resulting free-kick comes to nothing.

  16. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 15:17 GMT 26 December 2025

    Norwich 0-0 Charlton

Jovon Makama's scored four goals in his last five games - and that almost became five in six.

Great work by the Norwich youngster, who's surrounded by Charlton defenders but managed to twist into a shooting position and send one rattling against the post.

A wayward shot by Southampton midfielder Flynn Downes has just flown over the fence and walloped the windscreen of a car behind the Oxford goal.

The Saints fans found that quite amusing!

  18. Postpublished at 15:15 GMT 26 December 2025

    Coventry 0-0 Swansea

This is a first meeting with Swansea for Matt Grimes since he left south Wales for Coventry back in January.

Grimes had an excellent career with the Swans and anyone who has seen the Sky Blues play in the last year will testify to his importance.

    An absolute bargain for £500,000.

  19. Postpublished at 15:15 GMT 26 December 2025

    Portsmouth 0-0 QPR

A strong start from Portsmouth, who are making the early running as they look for a result to put some distance between themselves and the bottom three.

Harvey Blair's attempt was charged down, but it remains scoreless.
