Tottenham boss Thomas Frank, speaking to Sky Sports: "First, I'm very proud of the players. I saw a team of strong personalities, great characters.

"I think we started the game well and then there was the first setback with the red card. In my opinion, I've seen it given before but I don't think we want a game where it's not exceptional force or reckless or anything.

"The team is hanging in there and defending great. We're fighting going into the second half. We concede the first goal and then there is a massive mistake by (referee) John (Brooks) on the pitch. Two hands on the back by Ekitike. I don't understand how he didn't see it. Okay.

"Luckily we have VAR so they will bail you out when you need it which they didn't. That was the second mistake. Okay. We stayed in the game and keep fighting, got a great goal back to make it 2-1 and then unfortunately we got a red card for two yellow cards.

"The second [yellow] one you understand the feeling in the game between two big boys competing."

Everton had enjoyed a half-decent spell so to give away the penalty in that manner just feels so daft.

If in doubt, hit it hard. He slammed that into the net. You could see the nerves in his expression and you can understand that. But he's put his foot right through it.

It's been a much better five minutes for Arsenal leading up to that handball.

After an end-to-end period in this first half, Leeds settle into a controlled spell of possession - and their patience almost pays off.

The hosts earn a corner after Nathaniel Clyne heads a cross away at his back post with Noah Okafor lurking, and Pascal Struijk heads the set-piece just wide. And still, despite their promising play so far, Leeds are yet to make Dean Henderson work.

A yellow card for Vitalii Mykolenko for trying to scuff up the penalty spot.

Clearly a penalty and the referee awards it to the visitors.

That is so daft from Jake O'Brien. What a risky way of attempting to defend the corner, with both hands in the air.

VAR have had a look and sent the referee to the monitor.

I don't think he'll need to look at this for too long it is clearly a handball y Jake O'Brien.

Viktor Gyokeres looked like he was already falling over to be honest.

The Gunners win a corner and now the hosts are claiming for a handball from Jake O'Brien.

And this one they do have a case for.

Ooooh, Bukayo Saka plays Jurrien Timber through on the right, his cross is deflected up and loops over to the back post and Viktor Gyokeres is saying he was fouled but the referee says no.

How quickly Palace turn the ball over and how well they create when they get into forward areas, they are a real danger.

Having gone close at one end, Joe Rodon is relieved to boot the ball away from his own penalty area after watching goalkeeper Lucas Perri keep out Eddie Nketiah's low effort at the end of a sweeping Palace attack.

There was a lovely back-heeled pass from Adam Wharton in the build-up there too. Classy.

It hasn't really got going at Hill Dickinson Stadium to be honest.

Everton should have done more with those earlier corners. Arsenal haven't created a great deal.

Joe Rodon wins a corner as he flashes a shot at goal, and then heads the resulting set-piece wide of the target. The Leeds defender will be frustrated that he hasn't managed to test Dean Henderson with that.

Everton have denied Arsenal any rhythm so far. It's been untidy by the away team.

Will Hughes cleans up as Leeds launch another attack, getting stuck in and stealing possession just outside his own penalty area.

Crystal Palace have really struggled to get out of their half so far and you can tell the home fans can sense a big opportunity here.
