  1. 'Arsenal should expect an aggressive Everton this half'published at 21:11 GMT 20 December 2025

    Everton 0-1 Arsenal

    Alan Smith
Former Arsenal forward on Sky Sports

If you're Arsenal you're expecting Everton to come out strong in this half to be more aggressive and forthright.

    Leeds 2-0 Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace have begun the second half much livelier than they started the first, but Leeds look full of confidence and composed in possession.

Adam Wharton rushes to close down Anton Stach's shot from the edge of the box and concedes a corner, which Palace clear - although somewhat unconvincingly.

  3. Postpublished at 21:10 GMT 20 December 2025

    Everton 0-1 Arsenal

For just a second time on record (since 2003-04) Everton failed to have a single shot in the first half of a home Premier League game, with the previous instance coming against Aston Villa in January 2022 at Goodison Park.

I'm a West Ham fan and though it pains me to admit it, assuming Leeds hang on to this, it relegates us before Christmas, 100%. Leeds out there playing Calvert-Lewin every week, while we play without a striker and lose every game.

    Leeds 2-0 Crystal Palace

Leeds have won all 48 of their previous Premier League matches when leading by two or more goals at half-time.

It's a big ask for Crystal Palace to turn this around.

But the Eagles did manage to avoid defeat the last time that they found themselves in such a situation, drawing 3-3 with Bournemouth in October.

  7. KICK-OFFpublished at 21:06 GMT 20 December 2025

Crystal Palace were sent back out on to the pitch early by Oliver Glasner, who has made one change at the break.

  9. 'Do we want to be remembered for fighting until the end or for being cowards?'published at 21:04 GMT 20 December 2025

    FT: Wolves 0-2 Brentford

    Wolves

Wolves defender Matt Doherty has given a lengthy, honest interview following Wolves' latest Premier League defeat, which left them bottom with two points from 17 matches. Speaking to the Premier League's world feed, he said:

"We're not finding it easy at all, obviously. we're obviously really hurt but we need to act. It's easy to say all these things but we need to show more on the pitch. There's not much to say other than it's not good enough.

"This is the worst I've felt in a long time. You can see the stadium is nearly empty at the end. It's not full at the start. We are just lacking the belief that we can win the game. We're scared to win the game almost. We're nervous about going ahead in the game and trying to hold on.

"We have to somehow find something. We have had a better two weeks in training, the energy and intensity has been good. But when you're playing at home in a situation like this, you have to show character. That's where you have to show your character, come out and want the ball and be brave.

"We're in every game almost until about an hour and then we concede a goal. Then we never look like getting back in it. I don't know, we will have to watch it back but it feels as though we're having to watch the same game back every week."

On the need to strengthen in the January transfer window: "It has to be [a good transfer window]. We need something, whether that is in the loan market or whatever. We are going to need some fresh energy, I'm not going to say which positions but we need something. I'm sure behind the scenes the club will be looking, from what I remember the club has always been proactive in the January market. We are going to need everyone to find the level of last season - we were in a tough spot this time last year as well but obviously this is a lot worse.

"We need to find the confidence. We need to do some soul-searching, have a look in the mirror and figure out what we want to be remembered for at the club. Do we want to be remember for fighting until the end of the season or do we want to be remembered for being cowards and taking maybe the easy option out and maybe trying to leave in January or letting other people take your position."

  10. 'Some things good, other things no'published at 21:02 GMT 20 December 2025

FT: Man City 3-0 West Ham

    Manchester City

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola speaking to BBC MOTD:

"Some moments, some things really good, other things no. But that's nice, we have margin to improve. Defensively so good in many aspects, aggression. But with the ball we are still away from what we have to do.

"They had chances because our spots to play were not good. This is the problem. It was quite similar to Leeds. They have quality - [Lucas] Paqueta, [Crysencio] Summerville - we were in dangerous positions. We were not in the right spots with the ball. Still we're not brave enough to break the lines and do it. But I'm really happy about position in the table, we are close to the top of the league, Champions League we are there, Carabao Cup semis. We are missing seven players now - five injured, two Afcon - that is tough to handle for many games. But we have to improve."

On Erling Haaland: "The goals, he scores a lot for us, but today I have to thank him for the intensity. Him, Phil Foden and Nico O'Reilly they helped us a lot with the intensity."

  11. 'We have self-imploded in games'published at 21:00 GMT 20 December 2025

    FT: Wolves 0-2 Brentford

    Wolves

Wolves manager Rob Edwards speaking to Sky Sports: "Obviously I'm really disappointed. In all six games since I arrived we have been drawing at half-time and we have self-imploded, really.

"The confidence thing is one issue. At the moment we are bottom with two points. We are trying to continue the good work we have started - that is success right now. We want to build on that and I felt that we could go and do that [today]."

On the change of chairman at the club after Jeff Shi left his role: "I was informed yesterday, there was a meeting. Going forward Fosun [owners Fosun Sports Group] have already shown and said they are fully committed to this club. I have met [new interim chairman] Nathan Shi in the past two days and he is someone who seems really committed to being aligned and working with us in this process.

On the January transfer window: "There is a plan in place there but January is difficult for the top teams, never mind a team in our position. There will be a lot of people working hard at the moment to make sure we can have an impact in the window."

  12. 'There are a lot of other good stories in this game'published at 20:56 GMT 20 December 2025

    FT: Tottenham 1-2 Liverpool

    Tottenham Hotspur

More from Tottenham boss Thomas Frank speaking to BBC Match of the Day about Romero playing on the edge: "I think if you go back to that [second Liverpool goal] and the referee did his job, then I think it would not have been a first yellow [for Romero]. Is that fair to say?

"I think there are a lot of other good stories in this game [than Romero's sending off]. I think we did a fantastic job. I have a player that is extremely passionate, and if you have a passionate player then you need to go to the line sometimes. What I liked from the players was the determination and the fight and the willpower."

On taking positives: "Definitely. There were so many positives in terms of dealing with setbacks and how we were fighting, how we used our energy, how we stayed in the game."

On finding consistency: "Definitely. I think it is fair to say that Newcastle, Brentford and Slavia was good performance on good performance on good performance, then we had a bad one against Nottingham Forest, then a good one. So we need to keep going and hopefully have more than three good performances in a row."

Dominic Calvert-Lewin makes it six in five in the Premier League with an excellent header.

It's another long throw by Ethan Ampadu which undoes Crystal Palace, and the bang in-form Calvert-Lewin is there to pounce at the back post once it's flicked on.
