"He's good. His training is still good. It's been many months. Last season he was the important player for us, played all the games, at the end he said 'enough is enough'. Happy he's back.

"Hopefully he can help us in the last part of the season, have a good World Cup with Croatia, then next season we can have him again. He's an important player. Central defender, full back. Can play different roles. So fast, so quick. Really good to have him back. Like Ruben [Dias] as well."

    On Gvardiol's contract situation:

"I have no info. I would love Josko to stay here. It's not easy to find a player like him."

As an Arsenal fan I am disgusted by some of the ridiculous OTT comments by some of our own fans. They might think it’s just ‘bants’. I have another word for it - classless

    Floyd, Luton

Arsenal fan here, and as far as the PL goes, it’s simply not over until it’s over. But that also goes for the Champions League final. Neither is a foregone conclusion, though many are quick to claim such.

  4. 'The biggest step in world football in the last decade'published at 13:00 BST 8 May

Man City v Brentford (Sat, 17:30 BST)

    Manchester City

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola on the women's side winning the WSL title:

"Huge compliment on behalf of the men's first team. Today is a reality in world football, the impact for the women's team and society, the girls how they enjoy to play football.

"In Barcelona, for example the impact from the women's team all the girls in Catalonia is unbelievable. I think it's the biggest step in world football made in the last decade. Before, they started... but before you never could imagine the impact in girls and teenagers. They want to play football. It's fantastic.

"Of course, a big compliment. What Chelsea has done has been top in the last six years, winning six leagues. And now we break that, a big compliment for them, the manager, for all the humans in the organisation. Hopefully it is the first of many that are going to come. "

Man City have had a terrible season, rescued by paying double the wages to Guehi and Semenyo that others were offering. Would be embarrassing if they won the title.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola on the key to Jeremy Doku becoming 'a winning player':

"I'm so glad. I'm so glad they're making the step and feel that the winger had to score and make an impact not just an extra one against one. The goals, the assists, also contributing defensively... yeah. Jeremy has been amazing this season. Amazing."

Doku's equaliser could yet be crucial. A draw for West Ham will be enough for us to have a good chance again, providing we have won v Brentford. If Arsenal win on Sunday at West Ham though it the title race is finished.

Mark, City season ticket holder in Dublin

Man City have the tougher fixtures on paper. However, Arsenal’s trip to West Ham is massive. West Ham are playing for something too. They’ve not lost at home since January and City only managed a point there in March. It’s a big game and could prove to be pivotal.

On whether his absence impacted a 'chaotic' second half against Everton:

"It doesn't depend on him. We give the goals away but not because Rodri was not there."

While all the noise around the Premier League title was occurring, there was also some other big news coming out of Manchester City this week.

In what was perhaps a shock to some, City midfielder Phil Foden reached an agreement in principle over a new four-year deal with the club.

The 25-year-old's current contract was due to expire next summer but fresh terms will keep him at Etihad Stadium until 2030, with the option of another year.

Foden has struggled for form in recent months and has not scored since 14 December but a new contract signals a commitment from both parties to continue working together.

This will likely be high on the agenda in today's news conference for Pep Guardiola and questions are sure to arise once more whether or not it will be Guardiola managing the England midfielder in 2026-27.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola said prior to the Everton game, if his side lost another match, the title would be over.

Well, City didn't lose that match against the Toffees, but they could only manage a last-gasp draw - a result that has taken things out of their hands.

Did the Toffees land the killer blow in this intriguing Premier League title race, or are we expecting more twists and turns before the end of the season?

  17. Guardiola up nextpublished at 12:27 BST 8 May

Man City v Brentford (Sat, 17:30 BST)

    Manchester City

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is the first live news conference of the day and he's coming up next.

It will be the first time the City boss has spoken since his side's dramatic 3-3 draw against Everton that once again took the Premier League title out of their hands.

Rivals Arsenal now know if they win their remaining three, they are champions.

With City playing a day earlier than the Gunners this weekend, though, it becomes the perfect opportunity to get three points on the board and put added pressure on Mikel Arteta's men who face West Ham in a huge London derby on Sunday.

A final word from Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola on team news before this weekend: "Justin [Kluivert] has been training with the team normally this week. I expect him to be in the squad.

"Lewis [Cook] also has been training, not fully and is probably a little bit behind Justin in the process but is getting there.

“Probably not for tomorrow but he’s training today and we will see. I hope both, Justin definitely and Lew can be available for the last two games.

"I hope everyone is available for tomorrow."

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola on what his side's unbeaten run is down to: "You ask me after the first half [of the season], if the goal was just not to get in the relegation spot. We had, I think, 23 points in the first half [of the season]. It's very difficult to get to Europe with 23 points. We've done something really difficult, going on a 15 game unbeaten run. But, we still have work to do. We are in a good position.

"It speaks well about the players, they have been consistent, tough to beat. They are playing well, when we aren't playing well they are finding ways to stay in the games. I hope that we can go all the way, knowing we have three difficult matches."

  20. 'We do not have easy games' - Iraola on fight for Europepublished at 12:18 BST 8 May

Fulham v Bournemouth (Sat, 15:00 BST)

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola began his news conference by discussing his side potentially earning a spot in Europe next season: "I think we are in a good place, in the sense that [with] three games remaining, we are in the fight. But I still think we need good results. We are like six, seven teams fighting for two, maybe three positions [in Europe]. So you will need points, you will need wins. We don't have easy games.

"The only thing that makes me optimistic is that, I see my team in a really good place. We are doing good things, we are playing well. Even if we probably have one of the toughest, maybe with Brentford, toughest schedules. I trust my team because they show me that they are able to play a good game against any opposition"
