  3. 'Gyokeres has been working extremely hard'published at 14:59 BST 8 May

West Ham v Arsenal (Sun, 16:30 BST)

    Arsenal

A final word from Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta on striker Viktor Gyokeres’ hold-up play improving over the season: "[I’ve noticed it] from the beginning. I think some of the things you see, certain improvements from players, the work probably hasn’t been done a day or two days before - it’s been done through months.

"Maybe months ago, but it hasn’t happened overnight. Viktor has been working extremely hard, the demands he puts on himself are extremely high.

"He always wants to learn, he’s always asking questions, he always wants to do extra things. He’s always trying to find ways to find those connections with his teammates - whether that be in the canteen, in the dressing room or on the pitch. At the end, when you have that kind of behaviour, you get rewards."

West Ham v Arsenal (Sun, 16:30 BST)

    Arsenal

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta on if the next few weeks are the biggest in his career: "Yes, but that's if and if football doesn't work, we have to do it. What we're going to do today, what we've done today, that's a fact. That's the most important thing, and tomorrow we're going to have to do what it takes to be in the best mood, physically and mentally, to get ready for the battle that we have on Sunday."

West Ham v Arsenal (Sun, 16:30 BST)

    Arsenal

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta on how enjoyable it has been to work with Bukayo Saka: "A joy. I feel extremely lucky, I said it from the beginning, to find somebody at the club that you can lean into at any level. Knowing that he's going to respond.

"Knowing that his heart is in the right place. Knowing that everything that he does comes from certain values, certain education, certain principles. It's been a joy.

"On the human level, I think we know him. And on the football level, what he has provided to this club, and what he did the other night, is just remarkable."

  8. 'Lewis-Skelly has been exceptional'published at 14:48 BST 8 May

West Ham v Arsenal (Sun, 16:30 BST)

    Arsenal

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta on Myles Lewis-Skelly playing in midfield after not playing much this season: "It has been a process of understanding him better. Him understanding the standards that are required when you play or don't play as much at this level.

"To understand the reasons why you play or don't play as well and then he has been exceptional. His attitude, the way he has been supported the boys when he is not playing.

"He has made us think that when he was given the chance, he was going to respond in the manner that he has done. It is not easy when you have not played that much to look that fresh, that confident, that energetic and playing with that determination."

On being so close to an extraordinary season and if he has a message to the players and supporters: "Stay present, live the moment, prepare and show the same level of energy, hunger and desire that we have showed all season or more. We are closer and closer and everything that we do now is going to matter to win it or not."

For Rob (14:25) to say it's not his fault is totally wrong, he has to take some responsibility for the position we're in. We have nothing to lose by playing more positive but he persists with a back three when we could have been more attacking against 10 men last week.

  11. 'Place every opinion where they belong'published at 14:40 BST 8 May

West Ham v Arsenal (Sun, 16:30 BST)

    Arsenal

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta on criticism of Arsenal's celebrations after reaching the Champions League final: "I didn't know about it but you have to respect every opinion and place them where they belong. It is not important. I'm assuming that the criticism is positive and negative. That makes you better. You want to set higher standards and perform at levels that can help you compete for the two most prestigious competitions in Europe. You have to be prepared for that because it does make you better, that's for certain."

  15. 'It was pretty clear how everyone felt in the stadium'published at 14:28 BST 8 May

Brighton v Wolves (Sat, 15:00 BST)

    Wolves

Wolves boss Rob Edwards on the Sunderland draw in which fans booed and Edwards went straight down the tunnel at full-time: “Difficult circumstances in the second half but we found a way to get something from the game. It was challenging and difficult.

“There was a bit of an edge and anxious feeling in the stadium. It probably rubbed off on to the players as well, so they did well to get something from the game.

"It was the right thing at the right time [going down the tunnel].

"[Doing the lap of appreciation] wouldn’t have been the right decision.

"It was pretty clear how everyone felt in the stadium at the time and I didn’t want to incite that any more. No I wouldn’t change anything.”

  16. 'This is not my fault'published at 14:25 BST 8 May

Brighton v Wolves (Sat, 15:00 BST)

    Wolves

Wolves boss Rob Edwards on whether this is the toughest test he's had in management: "I’m in the situation I am in right now, but this is not my fault. It's been going on a long time.

"We came into this situation, so I feel energised by what we’re going to do and the difference we’re going to make going forward.

“We’re going to have to ride out this difficult period and stay strong.

“We’ve come into a team that haven’t won for ages on two points in the Premier League. We’ve not been able to play the way we want, we’ve been playing survival football and trying to keep confidence levels and trying to get our minimum level of hard work and what it looks like to compete [across].

"It’s been challenging and completely different to any time I’ve experienced before.

“Not many people would come into this situation either.”

  18. Recap: Slot news conferencepublished at 14:18 BST 8 May

Liverpool v Chelsea (Sat, 12:30 BST)

    Liverpool

That's everything from the Liverpool boss.

The Reds are closing in on confirmation of a Champions League spot for next season but will need to overcome an out-of-sorts Chelsea side first.

Here are the top lines from his news conference:

    • Team news: Alexander Isak has returned to training and goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili will do so today but Mo Salah and Alisson Becker remain out
    • The Reds boss said Chelsea "have a clear identity" under interim manager Calum McFarlane
    • Slot claimed it weighs heavy on the players losing the number of games they have, as they are a group that is "used to winning"
    • He said the club will address areas they have struggled in this season in the summer before latter adding there will be once again transition during the transfer window but "not as drastic" as last year
    • Finally, he gave a vague update on the injured Conor Bradley, stating it is "complicated to tell" when he will make able to make his return to the field
  19. Liverpool simply need to deliver against Chelseapublished at 14:14 BST 8 May

Liverpool v Chelsea (Sat, 12:30 BST)

It was interesting to hear Arne Slot suggest that even if Liverpool win their last three games with very good performances, that would still not silence the criticism.

The Liverpool boss is well aware of the atmosphere surrounding his side at the moment, after a season that has seen them lose 18 times already across all competitions.

And even though Champions League qualification could be secured this weekend, this will always be a season where Liverpool have underperformed and failed to live up to expectations.

Captain Virgil van Dijk used the words “disappointing” and “unacceptable” after their defeat to Manchester United. With Chelsea, who have lost their last six Premier League games, visiting on Saturday, Liverpool simply need to deliver.

And both the players and manager will know the importance of trying to finish the season with a flurry ahead of what Slot described as “a bit of transition” that awaits this summer.

The Dutchman insisted that he is looking forward to the future, rather than worrying. If Liverpool can finish the season with an element of positivity, then perhaps such thoughts will be justified - otherwise the discontent from the fanbase will only grow.

  20. 'Complicated to tell' when Bradley will returnpublished at 14:10 BST 8 May

Liverpool v Chelsea (Sat, 12:30 BST)

    Liverpool

Liverpool boss Arne Slot on Conor Bradley: "In the rehab it's always important if certain steps go well or they don't go well. It's really difficult in the stage where he is in now to predict when he will be back. He's still inside and working really hard to make the right steps but he is quite far away from going outside, that makes it quite complicated to tell how long it is going to take."
