    This is one of those games that in an ideal world Chelsea would not be having coming off the back of the Arsenal result midweek and preparing to face them again this week.

    You would have been looking for a clean sheet, some goals, more of a confidence boost.

  4. 'Space between back line and Hampton a problem for Chelsea'

    There is a worry there for Chelsea about the space in between the back line and Hannah Hampton. If Villa had been able to get the ball forward in the second half and had some runners there then they could have caused them a lot more problems.

    Aston Villa were clinging on, they weren't able to clear their lines. The Chelsea pressure was mounting and mounting and Nusken steps up on the edge of the box to curl into the back of the net.

    Sabrina D'Angelo has only been in goal for Aston Villa for a couple of minutes but she can't do anything about this as Chelsea retake the lead.

    It is a goal that is very easy on the eye. Ellie Carpenter plays it first time to Sam Kerr, who has her back to goal and she lays it off immediately to Sjoeke Nusken and it is a great strike into the net from the edge of the box.

    Argh. Another chance wasted by London City.

    Eva Nystrom slips as she tries to close down Izzy Goodwin, but Goodwin is unable to get a shot away on time and the ball goes into Kinga Szemik's hands.

    The ball is pinballing around the Aston Villa box as Chelsea are pushing to get what would be a vital win in their bid to secure a top-three spot and a Champions League place.

    It's a huge 15 minutes for Chelsea. Yes they could still go on and win the Champions League but they are putting so much unneccesary pressure on themselves.

    They have to turn around the quarter-final against Arsenal, and then they have to beat the remaining teams left in it, and it's the hardest competition of all. This is a must-win to finish in the European places.

    Aston Villa are going to be forced into a change in goal as Ellie Roebuck has sustained a leg injury and that means Canada international Sabrina D'Angelo will be coming on.

    With Sarina Wiegman set to name her England squad this week for the World Cup qualifiers against Spain and Iceland, it is a cruel blow for Roebuck.

    For Chelsea it's great to have Charles back because that means that they can let Baltimore push on more. That is her bigger strength position-wise, she offers so much going forward. A win-win change.
