    Leicester 0-1 Brighton

Leicester make good use of the restart as Missy Goodwin sets off on a charge down the left wing.

She bundles her way into the box but overruns it in the end and the chance to threaten the target goes begging.

Leicester are fighting relegation for both men's and women's teams. The club had been on an upward trajectory but it's started to look like it's going the other way at the moment.

While O'Brien gets even more strapping applied to her left leg both teams head over to the dugouts for a quick tactical briefing.

Rick Passmoor has quite the task on his hands to mastermind a way back for the home side here.

There's a bit of concern here as Shanon O'Brien has stayed in a heap on the floor after being caught from behind by Caitlin Hayes.

If Brighton can get a second goal here then it will be a big ask for Leicester to get back into this game.

    Leicester 0-1 Brighton

Good response from Leicester as they go up the other end to earn their first corner of the game straight from kick-off.

Sam Tierney swings it into the middle but Rachel McLauchlan is caught when hoofing clear, so it ends with a Brighton free-kick.

Brighton were lacking that final ball but this time it was perfect and Kiko Seike wasn't going to miss out this time. That is her seventh goal of the season for the Albion.

Kiko Seike had all the time in the world to slam home and it was oh so easy for her to do so. Brighton have lift off.

    Kiko Seike (48 mins)

    The deadlock has been broken.

It's a smart move from Brighton, with Fran Kirby threading a ball on the blindside of the Leicester centre halves for Rosa Kafaji to chase.

The Swede then picks up her head and unselfishly squares for Kiko Seike to tap into an empty net from about five yards.

  9. Charlton miss chance to win promotionpublished at 16:04 BST 29 March

    WSL 2: Crystal Palace 3-2 Charlton (full-time)

There will be no promotion party today for WSL 2 leaders Charlton Athletic as they have been beaten 3-2 away from home by Crystal Palace.

Amaelie Thestrup scored early for the Addicks who would have secured a top-flight place with a victory. But the Eagles, pushing for promotion themselves, scored through Hayley Ladd, Kirsty Howat and Abbie Larkin.

Emma Bissell pulled one back for Charlton but it was not enough. They are three points above Birmingham, who are three points ahead of third-placed Crystal Palace with Newcastle in fourth a further three behind.

The top two will be promoted to next season's WSL, while the side that comes third will be in a promotion play-off against whichever team finishes bottom of the WSL.

  12. 'We need to be more clinical'published at 16:02 BST 29 March

FT: West Ham 1-1 London City

    London City Lionesses

London City manager Eder Maestre: "Very tough game as we expected. The team was struggling in some clinical moments of the game. I think they didn't have too many chances but the overall performance is not enough to overcome those kinds of teams when they are playing with the energy that they play. We need to be more clinical the next time.

"Izzy was very close to scoring and then we suffered that equhalising, very difficult to imagine that kind of goal can appear. That's football. One point in a very difficult pitch against a very tough team."

On the injuries: "Very difficult week. Hopefully Kosovare is not as bad as I can imagine from seeing the images, Freya as well. Delphine at the last minute came out of the squad list, Grace Geyoro as well. A very difficult week to manage with injuries."

On wanting to finish in the top half: "We play to win so hopefully we can win the games we have in front of us. We don't need to be very aware of the standings, it is our first year in the top competition so it is about learning. On the other hand, we want to keep pushing until the end."

  13. 'Hopefully we can take nine out of nine in the last three'published at 16:02 BST 29 March

    FT: Chelsea 4-3 Aston Villa

    Aston Villa

More from Aston Villa boss Natalia Arroyo speaking post-match about managing the balance between attack and defence: "We tried to understand that maybe we could have a moment of pressing them higher but the pitch is not big enough and Hannah [Hampton] has this long range of passing where we didn't want to be exposed and open. We were building a game more in a controlled block. It's just the wind maybe did not help us. We found a couple of good actions but maybe not enough. I am quite proud with how smartly we are trying to play this type of game."

On confidence moving forwards: "We conceded four today but I hope fans understand it was a more decent performance. Four out of nine [points] from where we were I think it is a good balance. Hopefully we can take nine out of nine in the last three."

  14. 'Chelsea showed how clinical they can be'published at 16:01 BST 29 March

    FT: Chelsea 4-3 Aston Villa

    Aston Villa

Aston Villa manager Natalia Arroyo: "Sometimes when it's this type of crazy game, you feel you may lack a bit of control. I think we were able to find more balance and structure at the end of the first half.

"I'm a little bit frustrated with the chance of getting a point. Noelle [Maritz] feels guilty with one action where she wasn't picking the right position but she hopefully will get the full picture of an amazing performance again. Frustrated because you are not getting anything from a more than decent performance against one of the top teams."

On being clinical in the first half: "These are the types of things we are trying to teach the team and make them believe. Some days we will need volume, some days we just need to be clinical in the actions but Chelsea showed how clinical they can be. They just need one good spot and they find this nice shot.

"Chelsea were building their momentum in the second half but I'm proud of our performance. We will try next year to get something different, maybe a point, maybe three."

Kerr celebrates scoring the opener v VillaImage source, Reuters

Chelsea boss Sonia Bompastor speaking post-match about Sam Kerr being back in the goals: "It's crucial. When you are playing, no matter who you are playing, you need to have the best players with you. You need to have players that are playing in their positions. Sam has a lot of experience. She is great and can score great goals. She had a great game today, she scored, she was able to make great runs and it was good for her confidence also."

On the busy run of games: "We want to play as many games as possible and it is my job to make sure that the players come prepared into every game. Sometimes when you can't go on the pitch as much as you want it is difficult. So we will go into the classroom and I'll be the teacher in the classroom."

Right, while we take a pause in proceedings at the King Power, let's get some more reaction from today's earlier results.

Starting with Chelsea boss Sonia Bompastor, who was particularly impressed with Sam Kerr's starring role in Chelsea's 4-3 win over Aston Villa.

Brighton have had the best opportunities and dominated proceedings. I think it will be more of the same in the second half, and they have options on the bench as well. Leicester in need of some sort of resurgence if they are going to muster even a goal.

Fran Kirby aims at the near post with another corner but it doesn't beat first defender Sarah Mayling.

The Leicester full-back then follows her own clearance out to the edge of the six yard box to block Rosa Kafaji's attempted volley.
