On missed chances: "We had numerous chances today. The good news is we are creating them and getting into good areas. We had sixteen efforts at goal away from home which is not easy in the Premier League, so there are good signs. We have to take them and kill teams off."

Everton boss Sean Dyche speaking to PLP: "Very positive display. We had chances that went begging again unfortunately, which we have done too many times in games where we should be killing them off. We didn't manage to do that today but a lot of positives to take.

"James Garner was ill and got thrown in last minute and played excellently, Youngy and Illiman produced some superb play for the goal, lots more positives.

"Unfortunately you come away from a game where you probably should win with just a point. Normally you would be pleased with a point but at the moment we would have loved that win obviously."

On confidence shown by his team: "It is just noise you know? The players are human beings so naturally it does effect you but the point is that it is just noise. I've told them that we have been through this before, had challenges before, had a lot of knocks and the players have been grinding through.

"Today was not a grind. There was some really good play and we affected it in a really good manner. We opened them up enough times to win the game but you've got to score another goal."

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham striker Dominic Solanke speaking to BBC MOTD on scoring his first goal for the club: "[It feels] fantastic. To get the win here meant a lot to all of us. We have had some great performances to start the season but haven't managed to get the to match that so today we wanted to mix them both together. Today we did that."

On Brennan Johnson: "It's magnificent and Brennan is a great player. In the last two games he has had two great finishes and helped the team massively so great credit to him. We're all happy for him.

"Everyone in the team loves and helps each other so it's a great spirit."

On his own confidence levels: "As a striker it's always important to get that first goal and I managed to get that today which I'm happy with so hopefully I can continue in this way.

On the team's performance: "We have been playing well all season but sometimes you don't get the results you deserve, but if you keep going, keep sticking at it and playing the way we want to play it's going to happen."

Liverpool

Liverpool full-back Andy Robertson, speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: "Really happy.

"Obviously last week it was disappointing, but we managed to bounce back Tuesday [against AC Milan] - it was about getting back on track in the league.

"Darwin [Nunez] has had to be patient. He has worked hard in training, trying to get better like we all have.

"He has waited for his chance and today he was excellent.

"Luis [Diaz] has started the season really well, delighted for those two.

"He [Nunez] was waiting for his chance and he took it today."

Fulham

Fulham manager Marco Silva: "It was very good performance from us. Looking at all over the pitch and the whole game, I think we were the team who deserved to win the game, clearly.

"It was a very good first half in our image I like us to play, creating problems in different ways for the opposition and really enjoying to embrace the challenge in front of us.

"We built from the back and every time we arrived in central areas, we should have scored more goals from the moments we created.

"We were dominant, the best team on the pitch in the first half and left nothing for a side with top, top players. It showed the capacity we have as a team.

"We conceded a late goal against West Ham [last weekend] and it took a bit of time to organise. But we had more chances for 3-1 than they did for 2-2."

Aston Villa

Aston Villa's Ezri Konsa, speaking to MOTD: "It shows the character and the togetherness we have here [to come from behind and win]. We knew we were not good enough in the first half. We came out firing in the second half and punished them."

On substitute Jhon Duran scoring again: "He's a big talent. We see it every day in training. It's important for him to stay humble and we'll help him do that. He's still young."

On the tribute to Gary Shaw: "It's been an emotional week for us with the passing of Gary Shaw. On Tuesday we wanted to dedicate the win to him. And we wanted to do it today in front of our fans and in front of his family."

Palace boss Oliver Glasner said in yesterday's news conference that their form at the end of last season has warped expectations of the club.

They won six of their last seven games of 2023-24, scoring 21 goals in that run - but have yet to win a Premier League game this season.

"The last seven games were great but the first 31 weren't great - it doesn’t mean it continues like the last seven," Glasner said.

"The expectations were wrong because when you win two it doesn't mean you win the next one, and when you lost two it doesn’t mean you lose the next one.

"After 31 rounds we were five points away from relegation. That is fact.

"We didn't expect we win every game and play Champions League. When your highest number is 49 [points] you can't expect 78."

Since Oliver Glasner’s first game in charge in February, only Erling Haaland (19) has scored more Premier League goals than Jean-Philippe Mateta (15 in 17 games).

Last year Liverpool were in the title race all the way until they lost at home to Crystal Palace. So I am not down on their chances this season.

There is obviously the case of wondering what the new manager might bring but after a few games this season we can see clearly that they have an incredible attack, a solid defence and a clear style of play.

Last week's loss to Forest was not ideal but they went to Milan and conceded early and still bounced back. We are seeing that they believe in themselves and know exactly what they need to do.

Newcastle United

Newcastle winger Harvey Barnes on how a poor first-half performance proved costly: "It wasn't clicking for us. On the ball we weren't good enough and off the ball, you can see with their goals, we weren't at our level.

"It was disappointing to go in at half time and we needed a reaction. We got one - to a degree, anyway, because we didn't get the result - but there were more promising signs in the second half.

"The basics weren't there for us. Off the ball we were not as solid as we normally are and not as aggressive as we usually are on the ball. Our levels weren't there."

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou speaking to BBC MOTD after his side's win against Brentford: "It was a good win, a good performance. Our performances have been good all year but today we got the result as well which is the most pleasing but. We should have won by a fair bit more but we still got the job done."

On the third goal: "You're always keeping the opposition in the game [at 2-1] and it's been the story of our season so far. It was a quality goal from three of our four captains, who I think got involved in it. It was important to finish the game off."

On Dominic Solanke: "Dom worked his socks off. He was gone at the end. He is still getting back to match fitness, but I know he is going to provide so much for us in that central position. All strikers love goals so it will be a great moment for him especially at home."

On Brennan Johnson: "He's had a top week, he's scored two goals, he's won us a game to get through in the [League] Cup. Life's good. Sometimes going through tough moments gives you perspective of what's important."

On Manchester United: "We've got a Europa game in the week so that will be our focus and then we'll look at Man United. It's a big game."
