GOAL: Bristol City 0-1 Prestonpublished at 15:09 GMT 4 January

    Lewis Dobbin (8 mins)

Preston lead and it's two goals in two for Lewis Dobbin!

Having scored against Sheffield Wednesday on New Year's Day on his return from injury, he finds the net once more and it comes after Bristol City keeper Max O'Leary failed to clear his lines properly.

He diverts the ball into the path of Jordan Thompson who then feeds Dobbin to find the bottom right corner.

  2. 'Boro's list of injuries getting silly'published at 15:07 GMT 4 January

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Southampton

    Mark Drury
    BBC Tees commentator

Alex Bangura has had such torment with injuries over the last year, he may now be another to join Boro's cursed list of injuries.

I think it is his hamstring.

Frankly it is getting silly now Boro's list of injuries.

  3. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 15:07 GMT 4 January

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Southampton

Confirmation that Alex Bangura has been forced off injured inside the first few minutes for Boro. On comes Alan Browne.

  4. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 15:07 GMT 4 January

    Derby 0-0 Wrexham

Nathan Broadhead has two bites of the cherry as Wrexham threaten early on against Derby.

His first cannons off the post and he's virtually celebrating it going in, but it rebounds back into his path and he skies over the bar.

  5. Early change for Boropublished at 15:07 GMT 4 January

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Southampton

    Rob Law

Goalless but Kim Hellberg is already going to be forced into an early change.

That's because Alex Bangura, who is back in the side in recent months - he's been out for 18 months - has just gone down off the ball.

Really innocuous, looks to be his groin. He is now up and limping off.

  6. Postpublished at 15:06 GMT 4 January

    Millwall 0-0 Swansea

Tristan Crama forces an early save out of Swansea goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux.

Millwall have come out of the blocks quickly and Camiel Neghli brings an even better save out of Vigouroux.

  7. Postpublished at 15:04 GMT 4 January

    Derby 0-0 Wrexham

One change for Derby after their impressive win against Middlesbrough earlier this week.

Ben Brereton Diaz comes into the XI, replacing Ebou Adams who drops to the bench.

Wrexham bring back Max Cleworth for the trip to the east Midlands.

  8. 'We are really disappointed' - Watfordpublished at 15:04 GMT 4 January

    Hull P-P Watford

    Watford

Watford have issued a statement after their game at Hull City was called off just 20 minutes before kick-off.

"While player safety is paramount, we are really disappointed the game has been postponed as we were ready to play," a club spokesperson said.

"The decision to postpone the fixture so close to kick-off is regrettable and we fully share the frustration of our supporters."

A very late decision but Hull City's clash with Watford has just been called off.

Hull City said the game has been "postponed due to player safety concerns".

"While the pitch is playable, areas surrounding the playing surface have been deemed unsafe," the club said in a statement.

"Although this has been constantly worked on, conditions haven’t improved and with temperatures continuing to fall, player safety cannot be guaranteed."

  18. Canaries set for take off?published at 14:45 GMT 4 January

    Norwich v Stoke (15:00 GMT)

Do not talk to Norwich fans about their start to the season.

In fact just tell them it started in November and you might get a smile.

Liam Manning's disastrous spell in charge was finally ended after a run of one point from nine games - Philippe Clement's four wins from his first 10 in charge counts as a huge turnaround.

The Canaries have lost only one of their past six and a point today would be enough to lift them out of the relegation zone.

With in-form striker Jovon Makama's five goals from his past five appearances leading the way, Norwich finally look ready to fly.

Stoke's season is the opposite to Norwich's - an excellent start which has descended into five defeats from eight.

A win at high-flying Hull City on New Year's Day may be a sign things are about to take an upward turn for the Potters but they will find their opponents a different proposition these days.

  19. Neil making magic at Millwallpublished at 14:40 GMT 4 January

    Millwall v Swansea (15:00 GMT)

Alex Neil marked a year in charge of Millwall on Monday and what a 12 months it has been.

Taking over a side marooned in mid-table and replacing club legend Neil Harris was always a tall order but, just missing out on the play-offs and challenging once again has got everyone smiling in South London.

One win from their past six games is a wobble and they may suffer from not having the spending power of their rivals in this month's transfer window but this is a club built on fighting the odds and sometimes winning.

Swansea arrive fourth in the Championship's form guide with four wins from their past six easing any immediate relegation fears.

New boss Vitor Matos has recovered from losing his first two games and, with Zan Vipotnik (12) a regular on the scoresheet they appear to have more than enough to stay afloat.

Hanging-on to Vipotnik will be key if their ambitions stretch any further than safety.

  20. Parallel lives for Hellberg and Eckertpublished at 14:35 GMT 4 January

    Middlesbrough v Southampton (15:00 GMT)

Boro boss Kim HellbergImage source, Getty Images

Middlesbrough boss Kim Hellberg and Southampton head coach Tonda Eckert can very much relate to one another.

Both enjoyed seamless starts in their new roles. Both have since hit a bit of a sticky patch.

Hellberg won his first four games in charge of Boro after taking over from the departed Rob Edwards, but has since gone four without a win, picking up just one point in that time and his side have failed to score in all four of those matches.

It means Boro start the afternoon one point behind Ipswich in second and just three clear of Millwall in seventh, showing just how imperative it is to bounce back sooner rather than later to keep their promotion drive on track.

Similarly, Eckert also won his first four and went on to pick up six victories in seven games after replacing Will Still.

But it's now five without a win for the Saints (D3 L2), who are seven points back from the play-off spots and in need of results to stay in touch.
