"He adapted to it well and we know he’s got talent he’s got a fine left foot and he got in the right area twice. He scores one from distance and the other one he stays calm, hits it to the ground and it’s a really good finish."

"The first half you couldn't change anymore. We were disappointed about conceding that many goals but there were positive things. We tried to create some chances but I think Chelsea defended them quite good.
"In the end I think a bit of luck was not there for us. It was not our day and in the end I think we deserved to lose.

We ran out of steam at the end of last season as a result of decisions in previous years leaving us with a thin squad and inevitably injuries. No team has a harder run of opening games this season. Patience and perspective required.

We scored but afterwards we had too many individual mistakes and with too many individual mistakes you cannot win at Stamford Bridge. We should quickly learn from this.
"In possession we were good but to win games you need to be good in both phases and we didn't defend well.
"We are still in a process and we have to learn from this quickly. Every time we made a mistake they punished it and punished it quickly.
"We have to analyse, we have to be honest with each other and be better next time."

Trent Alexander-Arnold shut Rafael Leao at the San Siro. Wingers can also beat defenders at times, that's allowed to happen and it doesn't make you a bad defender.
Sometimes the guy with the ball gets past them. It's not a failure because you have been beaten once. He is not a right-footed Paolo Maldini. He is not in the team for that and what he adds to that team is worth more than having a more defensive full-back there.

"Stay the course" was boss Gary O'Neil's message ahead of Wolves' clash with Liverpool.
He has also written about "scrapping for everything" while still wanting to keep Wolves' style in Saturday's programme.
The confidence remains at Molineux and O'Neil said to the media on Friday he did not expect to be talking positively throughout the entire season.
Wolves' winless start is magnified by the fact it comes at the start of the season while O'Neil said it was suggested to him it had been the hardest opening - in terms of opposition - for any Premier League team.
Although, with a goal difference of -9 already having conceded 14, Wolves have not made it easy for themselves. The calamitous second half against Chelsea springs immediately to mind.
It is one thing to be confident in the process but another if the winless run continues. Keeping morale and belief high will be key.
Performances against Chelsea, Arsenal, Newcastle and Aston Villa have been promising and with better finishing or without individual mistakes Wolves would have more points.
They need to find a way to convert positive spells into consistent displays and while victory over Liverpool would be a shock it is clear O'Neil believes his team have it in them.

His elegance. His beauty with the ball. His composure at such a young age. He has grown into his own at Chelsea and he is the main man. He has got a bit of finesse, Bergkamp, Van Persie about him and they weren't bad at all.
You can't leave him out of any team, and I am talking about England too.

Everton boss Sean Dyche: "It was a bit of nervousness. When you haven’t got that first win you feel nervous. Then you go 1-0 down, the stadium becomes awkward for the players.
"I spoke to them in the second half about being someone who makes a difference. It’s every person that counts, not just one.
"I thought the feel of the second half was better, not just the quality. Dwight McNeil popping up with two goals for two different reasons and some good energy in our play and the big moments went for us today."

He can work under Arne Slot and judge whether he is really enjoying it and if the team is making progression, and then make a judgement off the back of that.
But he must have had his head turned somewhere but a lot depends on how he sees Liverpool performing this season and whether they are going to be major challengers.

Wolves have lost more Premier League games against Liverpool than they have vs any other opponent (16). They’ve lost 14 of their last 15 against the Reds in the league, with the exception being a 3-0 home win in February 2023.
Liverpool have kept a clean sheet in 65% of their Premier League games against Wolves (13/20), the second-highest rate of any side to have faced another 20+ times in the competition, after Chelsea against Middlesbrough (67% - 20/30).
Wolves remain without a league win so far this season (D1 L4) – only in 2003-04 (first seven) and 2019-20 (first six) have they gone longer without victory from the start of a Premier League campaign.
Liverpool have won five of their last six Premier League games (L1), keeping a clean sheet in each victory. The Reds had conceded in each of their previous 10 games before this run (16 goals conceded in total).
No current Premier League side is on a longer run without a clean sheet than Wolves, who have conceded in each of their last 17 top-flight matches (same as Southampton). It’s Wolves’ longest run without a shutout in the competition since a run of 30 in 2011-12.

Trent Alexander-Arnold’s assist against Bournemouth last time out was his 59th in the Premier League, moving him one ahead of Steve McManaman as the outright third most for Liverpool in the competition. Since the start of last season, Matheus Cunha has been involved in more Premier League goals for Wolves than any other player (21 – 14 goals, 7 assists). Eight of his last 13 goals for the club have either put them ahead (2) or drawn them level (6) in the match.
