Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli: "I'm really happy with the performance, I think we deserved the win. We played really well, we suffered a bit. We didn't deserve to suffer that much but we won the game and this is the most important thing.

On scoring for the first time since March: "It's always nice to score goals and even more for us that plays up front so really happy with the goal and the assist as well."

"We have to focus on ourselves and be ready for every single game and just do our job.

On the comeback: "The whole team are ready for the game. We know how the league is and we are ready. We try to do our best and to win the games."

So, here we have the Premier League table as we head into the final game of the day.

What I feel is really important is what Arsenal have learned from last year.

I feel that the crowd got them through it. The positive energy is just feeding out of the club at the moment.

It is even bigger to get the win because Man City dropped points today.

In my time there was an element of 'can we do it?' What Mikel is instilled is that belief that they will do it.

Everton

Everton boss Sean Dyche: "Very pleased, a lot of hard work in the turnaround. We conceded a soft goal and we know we’ve got to correct that and we’ve done so well from that kind of situation. First phase and second phase set pieces.

"The reaction was superb, particularly second half to take the game on. Lots of work to be done of course but it's another restart for us."

Alisson is back in the Liverpool team today after injury.

Former England goalkeeper Joe Hart visited him this week for Football Focus.

Ex-Arsenal defender Martin Keown said he is "just about Liverpool's best ever all-time goalkeeper" and added "if I could still play I would want him behind me".

Newcastle United

Newcastle goalscorer Anthony Gordon speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "I practice a lot. I think coming through the ranks with the England youth teams, the FA brought in a process for penalties so now I have my own process which means basically nothing else matters in that moment except my process. I take the penalty on my terms, my time and I feel really confident taking them."

"I focus on what is important. Get your process, get what works for you and take it when you're ready, not when the goalkeeper is ready of course. I do a lot of breathing techniques to zone out and focus on the ball."

On his goal changing the game: "We felt that even though they were 1-0 up at half-time and controlling it, we could get a moment and take it. Thankfully we got the penalty and scored it. It's difficult for them then because they have to react and when we have this fanbase behind us, it's difficult for the teams that come here."

Manchester City

Man City boss Pep Guardiola to BBC Match of the Day: "They started really well in the first minutes with the long balls behind. They have Murphy, Gordon, Barnes, Joelinton, who have pace. And after they defend so, so deep. But yes we scored a fantastic goal. We had chances to go 2-0 up but we know they are a team that creates chances and after they scored they had their moments. For 10 minutes they offered a lot with the crowd and everything. We know how they happy the crowd were to celebrate a point, but the last minutes we were there again."

On the midfield: "Are you asking about Rodri? You are the only one who has not asked me about Rodri today. They were really good. Of course the presence of Rodri is important but unfortunately until next season he will not be there. But they [Mateo Kovacic and Rico Lewis] were magnificent. Bernardo [Silva] played there as well."

On Josko Gvardiol's performance: "I did not know [he had that finishing ability]. In small spaces he is really good. His ability to turn and finish."

On Bernardo Silva's late chance: "We had a chance and Phil [Foden] as well, that ball from Bernardo to him. Pope made an incredible save so credit to him."

On Erling Haaland taking a few knocks: "That's the Premier League."

Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner speaking to BBC Sport: "Big disappointment, especially because I think we lost the game with mistakes.

"Over 70-75 minutes we controlled the game but you must be focused all game. It is a big strength of Everton's in set-plays. They do it well and we defended it most of the time really well. It was always the second phase. It is important to always keep your focus high.

"We tried everything, we changed the system, brought on all our offensive players. They defended with 10 players around their box so we didn't have a lot of space so it was difficult. Today we couldn't score the equaliser. If you concede two goals it's not so easy to get a point or to win."

On still waiting for a first league win this season: "We know it when we look at the table. Maybe it is a welcome back to reality. Maybe we were flying too high after a great finish to the season. The Premier League is a fight."

Everton

More from Everton winger Dwight McNeil: "We’ve been playing well but the results haven’t been showing that. We know the most important thing is winning games.

"First half we weren’t quite on it but I thought in the second half we were on it from the start. We got the three points we know we needed and now its about building that confidence and belief as a group going forward. It’s been a tough start for us.

"We played well in some games but never took our chances but I think today, especially in that second half we defended really well. No we’ve just got to step on and take it forward into the game next week."

There are a multitude of storylines here. Arsenal deserved to win by a country mile but couldn't put Leicester away.

Leicester didn't get that many chances but made the best of them. If you create that many chances and put that much pressure on with corners at the back post, eventually that creaking back door falls in.

Today you would have been shocked if Leicester had won at the end. Arsenal found that ugly way to get the three points.

Everton

Everton winger Dwight McNeil: "Massive, especially at home, to get three points on the board. It’s been a tough start for us.

"We played well in some games but never took our chances but I think today, especially in that second half we defended really well. Now we’ve just got to step on and take it forward into the game next week."

He served his one-game ban in the Carabao Cup win against Bolton Wanderers in midweek.

Wolves have not been as bad as their results suggest but I suspect the fans' patience is wearing a bit thin with their manager, Gary O'Neil.

That is slightly unfortunate, and unfair, because overall he did well last season, but the way Wolves ended the last campaign poorly and have started this one the same way does not help him, clearly.

This game probably won't do much for his cause, either. It is hard to look past a Liverpool win, based on their firepower and their strength off the bench.

They wiped the floor with Bournemouth last week and, while this will be closer, I still think Liverpool will win it.

Boss Arne Slot insisted this week Liverpool are yet to prove themselves as title contenders.

The solitary defeat to Nottingham Forest at Anfield stands out and shows the Reds are not perfect.

But they have recovered with three straight wins, including a comeback victory at AC Milan in the Champions League and Wednesday's 5-1 thumping of West Ham in the Carabao Cup.

That defeat to Forest will be one of the reasons for Slot's cautiousness in talking up any title hopes.

This is despite the 46-year-old making one of the best starts to a reign in Liverpool history while a fifth clean sheet would earn a club record of conceding just once in their opening six league games.

Victory at Wolves will be expected - especially as the hosts are weakened by the virus which has been in their camp this week - and if the Reds continue their form Slot will have a hard time denying their title credentials.

All over and Arsenal secure a big three points that for a long while looked unlikely in the second half.

It means they are level on points with Manchester City at the top of the table.
