    Falkirk 0-1 Celtic

Celtic have started the second half better but without threatening too much.

Sebastian Tounekti drives down the right, but a perfect sliding challenge from Filip Lissah stops the winger in his tracks.

  2. KICK-OFF SECOND HALFpublished at 20:53 GMT 14 January

    Hearts 0-0 St Mirren

A bit behind the action at Falkirk Stadium, the game is back under way in Edinburgh.

We have a man with the whistle for the second half. John Beaton has hurt himself as he is now the fourth official and Sean Murdoch has stepped into the breach.

The former Dunfermline Athletic player makes his Premiership debut!

  4. KICK-OFF SECOND HALFpublished at 20:48 GMT 14 January

    Falkirk 0-1 Celtic

Falkirk get the second half under way.

Are Celtic on their way to narrowing the gap with leaders Hearts?

  5. St Mirren 'not done enough'published at 20:47 GMT 14 January

    HT: Hearts 0-0 St Mirren

    Allan Preston
Former Hearts midfielder on BBC Sportsound

St Mirren have had the ball in the net twice, but they were offside and they haven't done enough.

Hearts have had the better of the chances, they've played well.

St Mirren need to get some chalk on the boots. They could play with about four up front.

They can do more, they've got a wonderful opportunity here to get a much-needed three points.

  6. How are Celtic leading?published at 20:46 GMT 14 January

    HT: Falkirk 0-1 Celtic

    John Collins
Former Celtic midfielder on BBC Sportsound

John McGlynn will be delighted with the overall performance.

Falkirk have caused Celtic real problems with controlled passing football.

They are playing against the champions of Scotland with no fear whatsoever.

Martin O'Neill will be scratching his head. They could have been behind but are a goal up.

I think this game is going right to the wire.

  7. Game with an edgepublished at 20:44 GMT 14 January

    HT: Hearts 0-0 St Mirren

    Brian McLauchlin
    BBC Sport Scotland at Tynecastle

There is certainly an edge about this game, with both sets of players ensuring their opponents know they are in a game.

There are battles going on all over the pitch, with Hearts' Braga and St Mirren's Phillips the two players who are likely to be keeping referee Kevin Clancy a busy man in the second half.

It would be no surprise if both managers make use of their substitutes early in second half as the game is being played at a furious pace.

    Intriguing 45 minutes to come.

  9. Falkirk left to rue missed chancespublished at 20:39 GMT 14 January

    HT: Falkirk 0-1 Celtic

    Jonathan Sutherland
    BBC Sport Scotland

Celtic started this game in charge, but Falkirk wrestled away that control and had the edge over the champions as the half drew to a close.

Former Celtic player Calvin Miller was the pick of that first half for Falkirk. The pace of Kyrell Wilson is also causing Kieran Tierney major problems.

Wilson and Barney Stewart will both feel they should have put Falkirk ahead.

However, that goal on the stroke of half-time is priceless for Celtic, a hammer blow for Falkirk.

  10. HALF-TIME Hearts 0-0 St Mirrenpublished at 20:37 GMT 14 January

Despite going down to 10 men in the 14th minute, Hearts make it to half-time goalless.

That's also despite St Mirren having the ball in the back of the net twice, but Roland Idowu was offside on both occasions.

It was Beni Baningime who saw red for Hearts after a VAR intervention, with the midfielder going in studs up on Idowu and catching the St Mirren attacker on his calf.

Hearts have had the better chances to go in front. Claudio Braga and Alexandros Kyziridis have missed opportunities when one-on-one. Will they come to rue them?

  11. Postpublished at 20:34 GMT 14 January

    Hearts 0-0 St Mirren

How have Hearts not scored there?

Oisin Smyth is pickpocketed by Alexandros Kyziridis and goes one-on-one with the goalkeeper, but his touch is lax and Shamal George is able to close down.

The ball comes back to Claudio Braga, but George saves again.

Should be 1-0 to the hosts.

  12. HALF-TIME - Falkirk 0-1 Celticpublished at 20:34 GMT 14 January

If you showed an alien this game up to the opening goal, they would think Falkirk were the champions and Celtic the promoted side.

The Bairns have been sharper, hungrier and created the better chances.

But a superb corner from Arne Engels set up Benjamin Nygren to break the deadlock and give Celtic the advantage at the break.

    Falkirk 0-0 Celtic

    Tony Docherty

    That's a mentality thing.

Celtic have been under the cosh, but one chance and they capitalise on it.

GOAL Falkirk 0-1 CELTICpublished at 20:29 GMT 14 January

    Benjamin Nygren

    Celtic break the deadlock!

It's against the run of play you have to say. Arne Engles swings in a brilliant corner and fellow midfielder Benjamin Nygren manages to flick the ball home with his head.

A sickener for John McGlynn's side.

    Hearts 0-0 St Mirren

St Mirren threaten to carve Hearts apart, but Declan John's pass to an unmarked Rolan Idowu is blocked by Stuart Findlay.

The midfielder would have been one-on-one had he been found.

  17. Celtic captain crowded outpublished at 20:21 GMT 14 January

    Falkirk 0-0 Celtic

    Tony Docherty
Former Dundee manager on BBC Scotland

You can see Dylan Tait again going in there on Callum McGregor. Between him and Barney Stewart, they're negating him and what Celtic are trying to do.

  18. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 20:21 GMT 14 January

    Hearts 0-0 St Mirren

The ball is in the back of the Hearts net again, but it's ruled out quickly once more.

The ball drops to Roland Idowu after Alex Gogic's shot. He looks off, but goalkeeper Craig Gordon isn't to know and makes a fine one-handed stop. The ball then cannons off Hearts full-back Harry Milne and goes in.

The flag is up against the St Mirren midfielder, but the replay shows it's close.

    Falkirk 0-0 Celtic

    John Collins
Former Celtic & Hibs midfielder on BBC Sportsound

Calvin Miller is playing with so much belief. He's taking on the full-back every time. And he's doing his defensive work.
